La Locanda del Capitano In Montone

07/02/2024: Tried it in the summer. A corner of true paradise, a dream location where you can dine directly in front of the hill on which Todi stands, it almost feels like you can touch it with your hands. Unique peace, relaxation and quiet! Dinner was definitely good. The most impressive thing is the excellent quality/price ratio. We had an appetizer based on courgette flowers stuffed with goat's ricotta with courgette cream and freshly grated truffle on the plate. A truly well made dish, the best of the evening. Followed by a good first course based on homemade strangozzi with truffles. "Only" normal was the large selection of cheeses that I took as a second course, as well as the plate of Cinta ham produced by them taken by my partner and the dessert, a sort of lemon pastry. The evening was positively enriched by an excellent Orvieto Classico Superiore produced by Palazzone. Also very interesting is the vast selection of coffees from various parts of the world (Himalaya, Jamaica....). Finally I allowed myself to end the evening with a fantastic 1974 Bas Armagnac! Sublime.

10/09/2023: Ero già stato al ristorante Fiorfiore qualche anno fa e mi ero trovato molto bene. Sono tornato qualche giorno fa con mia moglie ed abbiamo passato un serata davvero piacevole. Abbiamo iniziato con un aperitivo in giardino con di fronte la collina di Todi che si stagliava in controluce. Purtroppo c’era troppo vento per cenare fuori ed abbiamo dovuto ripiegare sull’interno. Lo spazio interno è piacevole con un ambiente raccolto diviso in due piccole sale. Forse un ambiente un po’ troppo infiocchettato per il mio gusto, ma nel complesso gradevole. Il servizio molto piacevole, attento senza essere troppo pressante. I piatti molto curati e dolci buonissimi. Naturalmente ottimo il vino visto che si tratta di una ottima cantina umbra!
