I'd like to share my experience at Il Normanno. I had dinner with my family on the last day of my stay in Cefalù. I regretted not having discovered this place sooner; I would have come every day. The Mazara Red Shrimp Tartare was excellent; you could tell it was fresh. As was everything else. To finish, Carlo, the owner, recommended a delicious Sicilian amaro.

A very nice and quiet restaurant in the center of Cefalù. Perfect for our dinner. The menu, remarkably moderate in selection, is varied, and the dishes we chose were truly excellent. The cuisine is simple, yet excellent, from appetizers to desserts. Highly recommended. The chef and the entire staff made us feel at home. The service was excellent. The wine selection was truly impeccable. A special compliment to Mauro, who shared his dish selections with us and made much-appreciated suggestions, contributing to the perfect evening.

Lovely terrace on a street that leads down to the sea, but we ate inside because it was quite a hot day and we preferred air conditioning.
The service was very attentive and quick. We had two appetizers, spaghetti with squid ink, and tiramisu for dessert, all to share. The food was plentiful, delicious, and reasonably priced.

We enjoyed this place on our last evening in Cefalù. And this is the review I wanted to write because these people, who have owned the place for a year now, are doing such a great job; the service, Mauro, Carlo, and Chiara, was wonderful with their advice on the perfect Sicilian wine to choose with the dishes, and also the delicious avocado-based Amaro at the end. We had a primi salad with squid. Completely by the rules, with wafer-thin celery and carrot strips curled in an ice bath; superb as an opener. I took the suggested local-style swordfish and my husband the stuffed sardines. A grilled vegetable platter served as side dishes. We had the idea of having a simple pasta or pizza that evening, and we were so glad we didn't in the end and made this wonderful choice instead! Give this place a try. We saw that everything inside is very cozy, but the terrace is naturally the highlight. Quiet side street. Actually not even a detour near the Duomo. Highly recommended by these Belgians...who knew a bit of Italian
