No , non ci siamo proprio! Niente di meraviglioso , e poiché il prezzo è stato esagerato, allora direi niente di dignitoso . Spaghetto alle vongole triste , scondito , slegato e pure scottooooooo! Il fritto senza anima , dozzinale . Il vino servito senza il suo cestello , un bianco buono , ma scaldato subito . Dolci buoni … ma pesanti . Ricordavo un’altra MARIA , ora no !

On the advice of the receptionist at our hotel we went to Maria's for dinner. Once we arrived in the main square, some people from Giglie pointed out to us that the restaurant can only be reached on foot, so armed with courage we parked the motorbike and made the trek up to the restaurant. We discovered that there is a car park right under the restaurant instead. However it was worth it because the alleys are really characteristic. The restaurant has a different feel from the Giglio establishments, the feel of a "good" restaurant with all those "Michelin guide" signs. The menu is varied but as it was closed for the season, many dishes were not available. My husband and I had just returned from a gargantuan lunch, so we kept things light with appetizers (Sautéed mussels without parsley and garlic, it just tasted like oil) and prawns with rocket and parmesan. Then a mixed fried dish (rather limp and tasteless). The restaurant is renowned on the island, perhaps our disappointment comes from the imminent closure and therefore tiredness reigns supreme. Considering the quality of the food and the final bill I don't think we will return.

Hadn't dined out this well in ages. The starter was magnificent. A great wine card with some incredible local wine.

Anyone who visits Giglio Island must absolutely go to this restaurant

On Tuesday 1st October, returning from Capel Rosso, we stop for lunch. We are the first, then guests will be added to the room at 3 other tables. Paccheri with tuna and olives, tagliolini with spider crab, hake meatballs, octopus caponata. Two coffees and water, no wine. The bill is €79. We had a good time. The service was precise and attentive, the cooking was fast, the food delicious. We will be back.

What an evening we had here! Giglio Castello must be one of Italy's most beautiful villages. Amazing views from the little balcony.The restaurant is in the Michelin guide books, so this gives you a hint to the quality. Excellent varied menu, with seafood, beef, pastas all of the highest quality. The Tagliata was great, as was my wife's Tuna dish. Our friend had the Tagliolini Granseola, and she declared that as terrific. Quality wines, and attentive waiting staff. Our evening was punctuated by an incredible storm, with sheet lightning, then thunder, and finally torrential rain that blew in from the balcony. Windows had to be secured, and the balcony door closed. We then got drenched on our walk back to the bus stop! Highly recommended for an unforgettable dining experience!

Ristorante all'interno del castello, locali che non trasmettono sensazioni particolari. Tavoli troppo vicini gli uni agli altri. Le pietanze invece sono preparate con buone materie prime e dai buoni sapori. Lo staff cordiale e attento, tranne la signora con l'auricolare. Viso serio e assenza di empatia con risposte secche a domande sul menù. Forse un po' relax sarebbe salutare.
