The desserts and coffee are also good.
It's a shame the street is often frequented by gangs of foreign kids who skid their wheels on scooters and do wheelies, putting customers at risk as they leave.
02/06/2025: Historic bar in P.zza Varsavia, Loreto district, excellent red beer served in a Holy Grail style glass...for beer lovers almost touching! Kind and helpful staff. Excellent prices.

07/06/2025: Siamo entrati per fare un aperitivo alle ore 18:45. La signorina ci ha subito accolto dicendoci che avrebbero chiuso a breve. Ordiniamo quindi 3 crodini. Prezzo finale di 12€. Senza una patatina, una pizzetta. Niente! Vergogna! Mai più.
P.s: ogni sabato e domenica veniamo a fare colazione.

08/07/2025: A very successful bar, but a complete fail for me. It was my partner and I with our dog. When we arrived, it was impossible to tell whether they offer table service or not (I only found out later that they offer it randomly, that is, when the girl deigns to come out). Dogs aren't allowed inside, so my partner went in alone; if I'd been alone with the dog, I would have left.
It took a good 10 minutes to order and another 10 to receive it; it's a good thing because the waitress's rudeness and incompetence are grotesquely disappointing. People who took 20 minutes to order, and just as long to receive their breakfast. People who were served with tables still dirty from previous customers' food. People who, in desperation, grabbed their tray and served themselves.
It's a shame because the pastries are really good. Maybe they should stop there.
28/06/2025: I take the liberty of giving 1 star because the lady who serves (I don't know if she's the owner or not), in any case the "older" one, is rude to customers.
She may sell the best products in the world, but even if she gave them to me, it is undoubtedly more pleasant to go to a place where you are welcomed with a smile.
It is true that it is increasingly difficult to deal with people, but they are not all the same.
The place is stuffy, very hot and tiny. Pets NOT allowed.

Pizzeria Ristorante A' Marechiaro

24/08/2025: Hesitations from when my son was at university, and for the return trip and family reunion between trains and cars in Novara, we decided to dine at this restaurant. I expected a happy family evening, but instead... After ordering, pushing, and waiting an hour and a half, they managed to serve us three pizzas and a fried gnocco at a table for four, in installments... so that each person ate individually, and not only was the first Quattro Stagioni pizza topped with bell peppers. Of the two bathrooms, one was out of order and the soap had run out. Honestly, in that restaurant and in that central location, I expected something completely different. I can only give a negative review, and I don't even want to comment on the general mood at the end of the evening. Consequently, one star seems even exaggerated.
23/08/2025: Simply a disaster. It took an hour and a half to get the pizzas, which were brought one after the other, so we couldn't even eat together. Also, a 4-cheese pizza came with peppers, so we had to change it... Luckily, there were no allergies! The pizzas were good, the fried gnocco was terrible, but considering the whole experience, 1 star is already too much.

I'd like to report a very disappointing experience. I ordered fried pizza with Nutella and ricotta, but it was truly disgusting...it tasted like they'd put a cat's dad in it! When I asked them what they'd sent me, they were extremely rude.
Furthermore, the pizzas arrived completely cold because the delivery driver got the wrong address twice.
I'm sorry to say this, but it was a terrible experience in every way.

From the outside it isn't obvious that they sell ice cream, at least... it took me some time to understand.
Thumbs down for the cost of water which costs twice as much as diesel: 1.50 half a liter for an essential good I find it a bad way to make money. Unfortunately it's not the only one in the centre, there are those who do it for 1 euro anyway

10/07/2025: Dopo la visita ad una mostra, ci siamo fermati da 049 per la cena.
Ambiente grande, ben arredato con un bel bancone (in un’altra occasione abbiamo consumato un buon caffè), piuttosto rumoroso ma non sgradevole.
Personale veloce e professionale.
Abbiamo scelto: Insalata 049 (insalata mista, pomodorini, Olive nere, carote, patate al vapore, toma, uovo sodo, salsa di senape); Hamburger 09 (200 gr. Di carne, salsa barbecue, bacon, cipolla caramellata, lattuga e patate fritte).
Accompagnati da una bottiglia di bollicine.
Siamo stati soddisfatti sia del cibo che del servizio.

08/04/2025: Dopo una visita alle mostre, sempre piavevolissime e ben gestite al Castello di Novara, è comodo fermarsi
nel dehor di questo locale.
Bella la vista sulla piazza e sulle mura del castello mentre osserviamo il passeggio e il via vai dei clienti sotto un caldo sole primaverile. Comode le sedute, solidi e adeguati i tavolini in metallo.
Il servizio è discretamente veloce, compatibilmente con l'affollamento che nelle ore canoniche non manca. Il dubbio è fra un aperitivo con qualche sfiziosita' o un più classico menu ( panini, piadine, toast, insalatone e qualche altro piatto).
Scegliamo una piadina con prosciutto crudo San Daniele, squaquerone e rucola (7 €) e un maxi toast (5 €). Da bere una tonica alla spina (4 €) e una mezza minerale (2 €).
La piadina è ben imbottita e decisamente buona, lo stesso vale per il toast. Il personale è gentile e attento.
Con il coperto (1,5 €), spendiamo in tutto 21 euro per una piacevole pausa ristoratrice.

26/05/2025: We celebrated our son's first communion. Excellent formula that allows you to compose your own menu and your own experience as you wish, having a varied selection of appetizers, first courses and second courses.
Excellent space with the large room available for the event and the garden.
Special thanks to Angela and her husband who helped to "pamper us" with the creation of personalized favors (excellent biscuits) and above all they had a special eye for the celiac people present, with the creation of a personalized menu and also an ad hoc dessert requested the same day. Recommended 👍🏻
