26/09/2025: If you like chocolate—I love dark chocolate—this ice cream shop is the ultimate. But be warned, this ice cream shop is addictive, and I can't find another ice cream in Genoa that compares to this one. It's worth a visit for those who haven't tried it.

20/10/2025: It doesn't need any reviews, the one-of-a-kind focaccia is exceptional, the pizzas and all the baked goods are spectacular, and the pastry shop is a delight. The staff is super fast and friendly.

04/10/2025: Pestobene serves one of the best pestos I’ve tried in Italy — rich, fresh, and full of authentic Ligurian flavor. The staff were warm and genuine, giving it that true local touch. There’s no seating available, so it’s more of a grab-and-go spot, but absolutely worth stopping by if you want to taste real Genovese pesto. Highly recommended!

03/10/2025: Best pesto ever. We ate the small focaccia with pesto here, and afterward, because the pesto was so delicious, we had the fresh wheat trofie with pesto. It's great that you can specify how much trofie you want. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Genoa.

09/10/2025: Unfortunately, there are no chicken or fish dishes here. Meat is everywhere, mostly pork. Not everyone eats it.

Of course the pizza is tasty but what also makes this place special is the owner who is very sweet and kind with a special character. 13/10/2025: I just returned home after spending a week in Santa Margherita Ligure. Six of seven days (they're closed on Sundays) this is were I got my breakfast. The best focaccia I've ever have tasted, kind service and they open early. Thanks!

07/10/2025: Located near the port area, coming from the center, go past the castle, stay on the same side, enter one of the narrow streets, and you'll find yourself before this treasure trove of goodness and authenticity. I confess, it's the first time pizzas and focaccias haven't made me thirsty enough to drink a liter of water as soon as I digest them. Good to know, then. It will be my go-to place in beautiful Santa Margherita Ligure. But not just focaccias, pizzas, and bread, but also sweets, which I'll definitely buy. Friendly service, too. See you soon.

08/10/2025: We had dinner at Clandestine last night. Macda “Mac” served us in the private room, near the bagno. That was THE best culinary experience we’ve had in Italy our entire trip (Lake Como, Milan, mRome, Florence, Pisa, Sienna, San Gimignano, and Cinque Terra). Topped off with the most unique dessert I’ve had in Italy: pesche e mango 🥭!

In the small shop with excellent dairy products, you can buy cheeses (primarily "San Ste" of various ages), yogurt, butter, ricotta, and the new kefir (I always stock up on it thanks to the insulated bag available in the shop). A BIG SURPRISE: the freshly made yogurt ice cream... spectacular! Every time I'm in the area, I can't get enough. A special thanks to all the staff at the dairy.

31/08/2025: We found this focaccia shop quickly on Google because we couldn't leave Genoa without taking a piece home. Unfortunately, we arrived late and there wasn't much choice. We also had plain focaccia (very good) the next day. Recommended!

28/08/2025: A small place, nestled in the center's alleys. Perfect for stopping for a quick bite if you're out for a stroll. The clerks were friendly and cheerful. The focaccia and pizza were mostly excellent, and the prices were moderately low (€8 for two, I couldn't believe it when they charged me). The only downside is there's no bathroom, but otherwise, it's just as good.

The dishes are truly exquisitely prepared, with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors that hark back to traditional recipes, but with a touch of artistry that makes all the difference. The staff is special: kind, attentive, and always available, capable of making guests feel at home. And then the host, with his warmth and attentiveness, manages to make the experience not just a dinner, but an evening to remember. The quality-price ratio is also excellent. This trattoria exudes passion and love for cooking. Highly recommended for those looking for an authentic place, far from the usual tourist spots, where they can feel truly pampered.

30/09/2025: In the heart of Carignano, a tranquil oasis just steps from the town center, lies the welcoming trattoria "Da Genio," where you can enjoy truly excellent traditional Genoese dishes. The anchovies stuffed with fried panissa, the ravioli with toccu sauce, and finally the delicious artisanal sacripantina are truly delicious. The service is friendly and welcoming, and the prices are reasonable. We'll be back soon to try their other specialties.

28/08/2025: The best aperitif in Genoa. For just €17 per person, they offer cocktails (a wide selection), a shared appetizer platter, a pasta dish each, two pieces of cheese focaccia each, half a pizza each, and a pastry for dessert! Very friendly staff and a wide variety (the dishes change almost constantly).
