27/07/2025: Around 9:50 AM.
I stop for breakfast; it's my first time at this bar.
I order a latte macchiato and a brioche.
There's a tray with 5 or 6 sweet pastries.
I ask what kind of pastries they are, and the owner tells me they can be filled, but I don't quite understand, so I instinctively decide to choose a piece from the end of the tray, pointing to it.
I hear him reply: "This one? Do you really want this one? I'll give it to you, but then he'll explain to me what's different about this one from the others..."
I was taken aback the first time I came in. I don't know the "gentleman" or the bar, and honestly, I don't understand the question... I thought there wasn't just one type of pastry, but I was obviously wrong.
The refined, kind, and friendly barista insists, saying: "I'd let you try standing here behind the counter for a whole day..."
I told him I could leave if you wanted. He remained silent. I was probably one of the few people making money, given his attitude.
I had two pastries, a juice, and a cold latte, for 9 euros.
This is the welcome a barista gives to new customers he's never seen before.
Who knows what he has in store for regulars... If they're even around? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
