25/08/2024: Tidy, clean beach and super courtesy of the owner who with a smile found us a last minute solution on a Saturday in August... for a dip in the fresh crystal clear waters of the bay!!

17/08/2024: Wide choice of swordfish sandwiches, one better than the other! The octopus sandwich is also excellent!

06/06/2025: Very nice service, food sensational...everything you could want in this place is available here. Beach, sunbeds, changing rooms, toilets, aperol, limoncello, and especially the wonderful water, beach and priceless views.

05/06/2025: We were in Scilla for a few days but we would never have left Lido Francesco, I have never found such kindness and courtesy from Francesco and all his numerous staff. He delighted us with excellent menus starting from giant swordfish or octopus sandwiches, fried fish and mixed fruit, all really well prepared and with incredible speed you can tell there is a professional kitchen. Impeccable service, they even bring everything under the umbrella for the laziest, Francesco is an exquisite person, he pampered us and satisfied our every request always with a smile, which is not always a given. If you have to choose one of the bathing establishments on the large beach of Scilla this is the best.

31/03/2025: ¡No estoy bromeando! La pizza vegetariana fue la mejor que he probado. Fue difícil decidirse porque todas sus pizzas son originales y tentadoras. Otros en mi grupo pidieron pasta o pescado, y todos disfrutaron inmensamente de sus cenas. Reggio Calabria está muy lejos de California, pero tengo que volver y probar las otras pizzas y entradas para la cena. ¿He mencionado que las cervezas también son maravillosas?

29/12/2024: Prenotazione delle 21.30-21.45 del 28 dicembre. Eravamo un gruppo numeroso e non di Reggio Calabria, quindi siamo venuti apposta per mangiare al Piro Bistrot. Siamo arrivati puntuali e c'è stato da subito detto che il nostro tavolo non era pronto. Abbiamo pensato che fosse questione di minuti. Un'attesa fisiologica tra primo e secondo turno. Non è stato così. Facevano entrare persone anche senza prenotazione segno evidente che volevano riempire le sale a tutti i costi provando poi a trovare una soluzione per il nostro tavolo. Nel frattempo né una parola di scuse, né un trancio di pizza o un bicchierino con il quale scusarsi per l'attesa e ingannare il tempo. Dopo un'ora, intorno alle 22.30, e all'ennesimo "Stiamo preparando il tavolo" ci siamo spostati di qualche metro e siamo andati dai Fratelli La Bufala. Inutile provare a imitare i ristoranti milanesi se si riesce soltanto a mettere qualche luce al neon senza portare avanti la stessa attenzione al cliente. Non posso pronunciarmi sul menu dato che mi è stato impedito di degustarlo. Ma sicuramente non tornerò a provarlo.

29/08/2024: Ho preso qui un paninone bello grande con salsiccia, salse e patate fritte in occasione di festa madonna. Molto buono! Non c era servizio al tavolo ma non so se solo in quell occasione per la troppa gente.

17/05/2025: Ridiculous. Was here in town for one night and, based on reviews on here, thought it’s a safe bet. Decent steak and food was overall quite nice. Worth the price? Not at all. It could have been had the service not been crap. But unfortunately it was - we ordered wine and it didn’t arrive until, roughly 20 minutes after ordering, we reminded staff we had done so. They didn’t care, didn’t apologise. Our presence felt like an inconvenience. A shame. Will end on repeating a review I saw for a completely different restaurant: if you have money and time, you might enjoy dining here. Otherwise, consider elsewhere.

03/05/2025: It really depends on the staff. It's usually delicious, but if the staff are the ones who served me in particular today, then experience not to be repeated. I wasted 10 euros on a focaccia and then threw it away at the first bite, which, sorry for the gesture, I had to spit out, because it was OBSCENE, especially for the money wasted. Maybe I exaggerate by giving one star (apart from the setting which is spectacular) only for a factor that depends on who is present there that day, but I don't care, after spending 10 euros it must always be perfect. POINT.
