It's a wonderful place made up of exceptional and special people. Incredible elements and synergies of flavor are the best you could wish for. All these elements are brought to life by the heart and soul of the incredible and incredibly talented Patron Chef Katia Trippanera. She possesses an absolute, top-notch technique that allows her to work the ingredients like very few others, resulting in dishes that are beyond unique and incredibly flavorful, but above all...simple. Her management is a tribute to patience and quality: here, service is entirely express, meaning every dish is created the moment you order it. The expertly crafted ingredients, beyond perfection, blend seamlessly with the highest-quality raw materials, used with incredible skill. The dishes intoxicate the palate and the senses...everything is a caress for the soul. The cooking of the ingredients is sublime. Here, cooking and drinking, rigorously traditional, are a true art, a journey through sight, smell, and taste, but above all through the feelings and emotions that the Chef, preparing unique dishes, evokes in those who enjoy them. There is no such thing as pre-cooked or frozen; every ingredient exudes freshness and respect for nature's cycle. The game is, without a doubt, spectacular. Katia handles ingredients like rabbit, pheasant, pigeon, duck, wild boar, and the legendary wood pigeon with timeless mastery, enhancing their gamey flavors with impeccable cooking that preserves their juiciness and character. The fresh pasta, strictly homemade, becomes the perfect canvas for incredible sauces, rich in history and flavor. The wine I choose, strictly red, is powerful and deep yet fresh, with aromas reminiscent of red fruit and a more than balanced alcohol content that blends harmoniously with the delicate flavors, enhancing their flavors both on entry and at the end of the mouth. But Montenero is not just food; it's a human experience. The kindness of the owners is that "something extra" that envelops the guest, transforming a meal into a gathering of friends. Since I moved to Amelia, this place has become my refuge: a safe haven for those who, like me, seek substance, the true essence of food, and the truth on the plate. 05/05/2026: Yesterday we had the pleasure of lunch at Ristorante Montenero, a true gem in the Amelia countryside, which this year celebrates an extraordinary milestone: 100 years in business, since 1926. A family-run trattoria that has successfully reinvented itself in its hospitality without ever betraying its soul: that of authentic Umbrian tradition. Dishes that tell a story of authentic flavors and passion, such as the hearty and authentic handmade fettuccine with ragù, game, pan-fried chicken, stewed mutton, and coratella (a kind of lamb cutlet). All prepared with local produce and the highest-quality ingredients. But beyond the cuisine, what truly strikes you is the atmosphere: a warm, family-friendly environment where you immediately feel at home. One of those rare places that still retains the profound sense of time-honored hospitality. My sincere congratulations to the entire staff for preserving and passing on such an important tradition. 09/05/2026: I spent 12 days in Umbria. This restaurant was one of the highlights of my wonderful holiday. The welcome was charming, witty, and eloquent. She (Alicia?) took the time to recommend a meal and also suggested places to visit in Amelia, which was perfect. I also took the opportunity to explore the entire restaurant, which, with its atmosphere, fantastic sound system, and everything else, is truly something special. Many thanks, and I hope other guests enjoy it as much.

03/05/2026: A truly beautiful and original location, romantic and elegant. The owner and her staff were kind, but the service lacked a bit of professionalism. Room for improvement! The main courses are highly recommended: the meat and flavors were very good, as were the desserts. The first courses were adequate. Overall, a wonderful experience. We'd love to return!

14/04/2026: So fantastic. We usually go to another place in Amelia but it was closed. Happened to come here because we needed vegetarian options for our friends. Incredible food. Delicious, homemade pasta. Cheese and grilled vegetables. A perfect meal in one of our favorite cities.

03/04/2026: I didn't stay overnight but only ate at the restaurant, and it is a place where you can have a truly wonderful meal for the price. The food itself is delicious, but they also offer a diverse selection of dishes unique to the Umbria and Amelia regions. However, the most charming aspect was the owner's kind and passionate explanations, which made this dining experience feel like a journey in itself (even though I was actually traveling, haha). There was a dish he recommended I try, saying it was a local Amelia menu item, but I can't remember the name. I didn't take a picture because I was too busy eating, haha. It was a small gnocchi... that was incredibly delicious, and the truffle pasta was, of course, tasty since it's Umbria... everything was great, haha.

04/02/2026: This restaurant offers a good selection of pizzas, although the prices are significantly higher than average. The same goes for the meat (€8/hg), which is way too expensive. The service needs to be reviewed: on a normal weekday, they forgot to provide cutlery for a child, and they always put mozzarella on the same child's pizza when it was requested without (which was later remade).

Various appetizers and first courses, including the lamb-filled tortelli with mint pesto, will make you forget your worries. The pork cheeks are divine, including the breaded and fried rabbit. The wine and beer selection is excellent. Courtesy and helpful service are the hallmarks of the service, which made for a pleasant evening. Recommended.

16/10/2025: From the outside it's a large warehouse used as a restaurant, with very little space and a fairly high price for a first course, a second course and a beer, 40 euros.

29/08/2025: The barmaids are very nice and friendly, the pizza is impeccable, the lady is very knowledgeable in the subject. I recently moved next door and found it to be a welcoming home, like being in a family. I recommend this place.

09/07/2025: Despite its location, the place is quite nice. The staff and food are excellent. The pizza is thin and crispy, light and not greasy at all. The beer selection is limited, but all very good! It's not a picturesque place, but it's definitely recommended if you want a good pizza and more! We'll definitely be back!
