01/08/2023: Excellent place for a quick lunch just outside Umbertide, with 13 euros and 50 a second course, a side dish, water, wine and the torte al testo (also called crescia locally) absolutely worth trying in a thousand ways (with ham, sausage etc .). I would like to point out the particular kindness and friendliness of the lady at the counter, with a smile and courteous manner that never hurts.

Locanda di Nonna Gelsa

12/10/2023: Insieme a due amici fiorentini sono stato ospite di un comume amico umbro in questa piacevolissima locanda. Accolti con genuina simpatia dalla titolare abbiamo mangiato veramente bene in una veranda affacciata sulla campagna. Complimenti davvero!!
E grazie al nostro Nobile Amico...
08/09/2023: dopo diversi anni siamo ritornati nella locanda di nonna gelsa atmosfera un po'cambiata ma sempre cordiale e cibo buono

22/12/2023: Siamo stati due volte, la prima non era stata il top ma la seconda ha confermato che, questa volta, le recensioni non mi rappresentano. Antipasti particolari, buoni qualcuno riuscito meglio e altri peggio. Tagliolini cacio e pepe insapori (si' incredibili), bottoni e tortelli così così. Prezzi alti per quanto abbiamo mangiato.
29/10/2023: Ci siamo fermati casualmente in questo locale ed è stata una piacevole esperienza, piatti tradizionali rivisitati con un tocco di originalità, il tutto fatto in casa e preparato dalla signora Laura che con la sua cordialità e simpatia ci ha fatto sentire come a casa. Torneremo sicuramente per assaporare i piatti del menù invernale

What affects my vote is the cost of the room €220 (with €40 of Spa for daily entry) which is definitely too high for what it offers. Despite the beautiful view. Normal rooms and normal breakfast.
The Spa would certainly be nice in the summer, making use of the but now scruffy outdoor space.
It is not inside the structure, but you have to cross the street
The room staff were very kind in letting us check out at 1pm

13/10/2023: Very very nice terrace and even more lovely service with the hearwarming family attitude you are missing in your usual italian restaurant. But topping of it all is the food made with so much love, especially the fries are something like an epiphany for taste buds that are used to eating american or french fries.
17/09/2023: Always a treat. Chef Alberto, originally from Milano, also was a chef for years in London. His dishes reflect this. Umbrian but a cut above the normal. But it is not just the food, it’s the ambience as well. Eli is British and she runs the front of the house and also the agriturismo which has rooms. The restaurant is situated up on a hill with amazing quintessential views of the Umbrian Niccone valley. Go there!

30/12/2023: Siamo stati con tutta la famiglia questo Natale.
Il menù era perfetto,i cappelletti un capolavoro,fatti a mano dalla mamma di Samantha...tutto buonissimo.
Samantha ed il suo staff,sono una garanzia di cibo buono,servizio e cortesia introvabili.
È come stare a casa.
Noi abbiamo festeggiato qui diverse ricorrenze importanti.
Bellissima location con accanto una bellissima Abbazia.
Un applauso a Samantha e a tutti i suoi collaboratori.
Torneremo molto presto.
28/09/2023: Attenzione, cortesia, disponibilità e una giusta misura di familiarità sono le cifre del gradimento del ristorante che abbiamo avuto il piacere di frequentare con assiduità e continuità in occasione di un soggiorno nelle vicinanze. Ambiente sobrio con un pizzico di atmosfera vintage grazie alle volte dei locali usi ad ospitare la cantina di un pre-esistente monastero. La dinamicità, la gentilezza e la simpatia del personale ed in particolare della Signora Samantha sono la giusta cornice del servizio e del menù. Complimenti.
