26/08/2024: Prima di assaggiare la loro cacio e pepe, era un tipo di piatto che non preferivo. Quando ho mangiato quella servita qui me ne sono innamorata. Ho provato ad assaggiare la cacio e pepe in altri posti, ma ne resto sempre delusa. Non è salata, gli ingredienti sono bilanciati perfettamente ed è super cremosa. Ovviamente anche la pasta fresca è buonissima. Antipasti e secondi ottimi. Dolci davvero buoni. Ottimo servizio Non appena potremo, ci torneremo sicuramente. A presto

22/07/2024: Wat een mooie plek is dit! Een cadeautje 😍. Wij zaten met ons gezin 5 nachten in het appartement met een prachtig uitzicht. De zonsondergangen zijn fenomenaal. En dan het eten: Rebecca is een top kok! Alles uit eigen tuin of uit de omgeving. Een prachtige rustige plek.

05/10/2024: The dinner we had was excellent, first class; a whisker within perfect. Risotto with saffron, gnocchi al ragù, chitarrina alla carbonara, baccalà in tempura, maiale, and cicoria. The dishes were full of flavour; a mix of lovely elements, rich, complete, and near-always subtle rather than forced. The chicory was for some reason brilliant; good enough to convert anyone to bitter greens. Quantities were always right. The wine we chose, a slightly orange natural grechetto, also worked its magic. If our stomachs were any bigger we would have tried everything including the desserts, but I’m older and wiser and so ultimately chose a good night’s sleep over unrestrained gluttony.

06/11/2024: Informal environment with friendly and attentive staff. Excellent quality food, honest prices. A special mention for the pork fillets with saffron and the cod with pumpkin cream, fabulous!

09/09/2024: Very friendly service and the food is oh so delicious in all its simplicity! We went for an aperitif with antipasti, followed by a pizza with 1/2 l of red wine, to finish with a panna cotta and an amaro. We enjoyed it and recommend the place! Thank you for having us!

20/11/2024: I was with two friends and we ate some truly memorable pici all'aglione. The staff is an example to follow in terms of hospitality and courtesy. The menu includes simple dishes from our culinary tradition, but very well cooked, with excellent raw materials. The lady in the kitchen is a specimen unfortunately in danger of extinction, she is the example of the cook of the past, who does her job with love and dedication, who does not shy away from conversation with customers, even dispensing advice on the choice of garlic . The quality/price ratio is excellent. The only flaw is the persistent smell of clothes when leaving the room, but it's a truly trivial sin. Highly recommended.

24/08/2024: Nel bellissimo tour turistico e gastronomico tra Umbria e Toscana il primo premio sicuramente al Perugino! L’unico locale dove siamo tornati con piacere… Proprietario e personale cordiali e gentili . Cibo squisito e porzioni abbondanti. Ci torneremo sicuramente. Consiglio!

20/08/2024: “Tourists are not welcome” Upon arrival the waiter took our order and our starters arrived quite quickly. The starters were very pleasant and all was well. Maybe 5 minutes after our starters arrived our pizzas arrived as-well. We were taken aback as most of us weren’t finished with our starters and we found this choice quite odd. During the whole of our stay the entire staff kept glancing at our table and made soft remarks while passing by. We were missing a pizza and when asked the waiters multiple times they had to check every single time. When the pizza did arrive most of us were finished with our foods. Not wanting to let the rudeness of the staff impact our dining experience I was optimistic about the food since our starters were great and the overall reviews of the restaurant were nothing but amazing. Our food came and I found it to be beyond tragic. I ordered the mortadella pizza and I was severely disappointed. My dough was overflowing with flour and so consuming every bite with it. The mortadella was bland and the pistachio taste was nowhere to be found. During our stay, we couldn’t help but notice a quite particular foul smell that would greatly strengthen when the wind blew upon it. When we finished eating we wanted to take our leftovers home and asked our waiter. In return we were handed a piece of aluminium foil and a plastic bag. This whole experience was truly a shame. I find it a personal tragedy that food was handled this way. Edit: Comments from the restaurant owner should state the more than obvious state of the restaurant. Pathetic

06/07/2024: So yeah, the location isn’t exactly where the maps say - after the turnoff, you drive for another 5 or so minutes to get to this full-service agriturismo. But it is so worth it - excellent ingredients (from their own farm) make for excellent food (their own beef, cheese, and more), a great wine list, an utterly charming ambience, and just plain great service Way way way worth the trip - this is destination dining

14/08/2024: Fantastic tavern. It's the second time we've been back, this time last night, the first time it opened. We were at the tables covered due to the rain which was intense from 7pm to 8pm but it cooled the evening, after days of great heat, and did not ruin the start of the dinners because it stopped at the right time. The young Contrada people - we had a very cute and precise boy and girl - come by to bring you the menu and the pen, you fill it out and give it back to them, and their service is precise and very fast. Yes, he eats very well, especially meat, roasted or stewed, but our vegetarian friend was able to have the starter without liver crostini, and then had the beans, a plentiful side dish. The roast quail is very good, as are the pinched snails and the wild boar with tarragon. Excellent conclusion with Cantucci + other biscuits and vin santo.

22/06/2024: On the occasion of the Infiorata on 22 and 23 June, the Taverna del Barbacane offered exhibitors at the fair a free picnic basket (takeaway) or lunch in the tavern (for those who could) a nice menu based on a first course: pici with tomato sauce , second course: plain rollé with salad, water and bread. Exquisite in service and meal. Thanks and good work. 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

29/08/2024: We stopped in this nice bar by chance while sheltering from a heavy rain one afternoon in Città della Pieve. So we decided to have an aperitif, which was really good, especially the variations on the more classic Spritz. Very kind and friendly staff. Very large environment with internal room.
