26/02/2026: Best sandwiches ever. This place is a must visit to try the great food and wine. We had different sandwiches and crostinis and like them all. It’s a bonus to hear the birds singing while you’re having your food.

15/02/2026: I was hungry, it was raining outside, and we hesitantly entered the shop. I immediately felt welcomed by a fantastic atmosphere, which momentarily swept away our routine and frenzy. I give the sweet and knowledgeable owner 10 stars. When we left and the door closed behind us, I felt a pang of nostalgia. Thank you.

09/03/2026: I went for lunch with my friends during the holidays. What can I say? The place is fabulous. The courtesy and kindness, the love for their place and their work, can be felt from the moment you say good morning. Extraordinary and delicious dishes for those like me who have a particular palate. I'll be back to enjoy the kindness and the wonder of the place.

07/03/2026: Wonderful inn overlooking the square with the Bagno Vignoni thermal baths. The Le Margherite room was beautiful and clean. Abundant breakfast with exceptional homemade desserts. The Porcellum restaurant is one of the most delicious and characteristic restaurants I've ever tried. The food is top-quality, expertly cooked and presented. The wine is delicious. The staff is extremely kind and always available. A truly magical place that has become a favorite of mine.

21/03/2026: Have been here twice and always book a table when we visit from Los Angeles. All the food is FANTASTIC, especially the ones paired with Brunello. Coming back in June. See you soon!

20/03/2026: We had a really great meal! We ate there twice during our three-day stay. We had bruschetta as a starter and pasta afterwards. The dessert was fantastic each time. We paid €75 for a starter, two main courses, dessert, wine, etc. I can't think of anywhere else where we've had food that was significantly cheaper, especially not of this quality.

06/01/2026: We went to this restaurant for New Year's Eve dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the menu, which was truly spectacular! We were enchanted by the appetizers right from the start, but when they served us the ramen, we thought it couldn't get any better. Instead, the tortelli exceeded all expectations. The wine pairing was also very well received, especially the red "Le Cupole"! The service was impeccable. Usually at New Year's Eve dinners, the food and service are on the "lower end" despite the high prices, but in this case, the cost was absolutely worth it! I highly recommend it.

31/12/2025: Ristorante da Ciacco is truly an excellent restaurant. It seamlessly combines friendly service, lovely atmosphere and amazing food. One can choose to sit either in the comfortable inside area or outside. If you choose the latter, your experience will only be magnified. Sitting outside is surreal....you are virtually next to a 500 year-old church in a beautiful medieval village. Tuscan dishes are generally simple....characterized by locally sourced foods, the freshest ingredients and presented in a non-fussy way. Ciacco is different. The creativity and presentation of the food is truly amazing and the dishes are some of the best I have ever had....Tuscan or otherwise. I’d mention the Tonno (tuna) I had or the risotto, but chances are great that they may not be available the following day as the menu changes constantly, depending on what the cook may have found that day at the market. Ciacco is known in the area for having fish on their menu....something not typical in this area of Tuscany. I have had numerous fish dishes at Ciacco over the years and they have always been fantastic. I always seem to leave the restaurant in amazement as to how spectacular the meal was.....a meal easily on par with the best meals I’ve had at some of Europe best restaurants. In short: if the opportunity should ever present itself, do yourself a favor and stop by beautiful San Quirico d’Orcia and eat at Ristorante da Ciacco!

01/02/2026: We went for lunch at the end of August and were seated at a table in the sun. There were free tables in the shade, and we asked to move, but they told us we could only sit at that table. The waiter told his colleague that we should stay in the sun so we could eat quickly and leave sooner. It was obvious he didn't want to work and didn't want to serve any customers. We got up and left without ordering. We did him a favor.

25/02/2026: The service staff was rude and aggressive. We went to the trattoria across the street, Leone. We had a wonderful time. We were attacked as soon as we arrived by a man (I presume the waiter from Loggiato) who shouted that we couldn't sit at the table. He then proceeded to insult us in a threatening manner. Disgraceful behavior.

11/11/2025: This spot hit right in all ways. Upscale Tuscan food served casually in multi room setting. Good wine list great service . I hope I make it back one day

26/10/2025: A romantic candlelit location with truly high-quality food. Super fair prices despite the quality of the food, location, and service. The Chianina steak tartare with truffle and the Florentine steak are exceptional! Go there with your eyes closed.

13/03/2026: Too high expectations = a little disappointed... They had changed a starter without telling us, instead of a mascarpone cream with licorice & lemongrass they served artichoke alla giudea with mayonnaise 🤷‍♀️ The pasta that was a speciality for the evening sounded so good when he explained it turned out to be a regular tomato sauce with a local garlic, well...

09/03/2026: The food is good, and the staff is knowledgeable about both ingredients and wines. The place isn't accessible and feels a bit claustrophobic. Furthermore, the menu doesn't offer a wide variety of first or second courses. There's no Tuscan Chianina Florentine steak, only the Piedmontese one. Even the most traditional dishes are prepared with the addition of more modern ingredients and methods that distort the character of the dishes. Definitely not a typical osteria. Perhaps more of a tourist restaurant, with high prices. It's a shame. There aren't many other options in the area, so the choice perhaps seems a bit forced... I don't think I'll return.

04/03/2026: A real underdog restaurant. The exterior isn't exactly what you'd expect from a local, but once you've been inside, you'll want to eat there again and again. Simply superb Italian food. A particular highlight is the fresh fish on Fridays.

13/12/2025: Bar-restaurant, as the name suggests. Clean place, good food. Fast service but excellent quality. Great prices. Friendly staff. I recommend it.

16/11/2025: We were welcomed by the owners, and even though they didn't serve food (during the winter months), we still drank excellent wine and had a few snacks. The book selection was also excellent, and we came home with a good book and a great desire to return in the summer!

21/10/2025: The best introduction to the beautiful town of San Quirico. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch, an aperitif, or a literary snack with excellent niche wines. Recommended.

Note: The review is 5 stars for what it is, not compared to the Ritz-Carlton or the Orient Express La Dolce Vita. That said, it would earn those 5 stars against much more expensive locations. There are so many good things to say about il Rigo! The people are the true stars, always welcoming, helpful, and a delight to be around. They became our new friends. A special acknowledgement to Lucia, a ray of sunshine every time we saw her. Noemi was a great resource for local info and we had a useful, enjoyable wine lesson from Matthias. Breakfast was always a great start to the day made better when the decadent chocolate dessert "leftovers" from dinner the night before were served with breakfast. Dessert for breakfast?!? That is VACATION! We ate several fantastic dinners at il Rigo. Sometimes the menu is "foreign" but trust that the preparation will be delicious and be bold enough to try new things-- you will be rewarded. The buildings and grounds are well-kept, clean, and a perfect Tuscan experience. Our room, in the second building, was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The view was great, bathroom was comfortably large and quite, bed and pillows, etc., were all good. There is a water kettle and refrigerator/freezer in the common area. Laundry service is available on site, I think it was 35 Euro. We went in to town and used the laundromat, for the experience, and spent about 20 Euros. We were expecting brown landscapes and were pleasantly surprised by how green it was. Many fields were brown but some were green as were the trees, etc. The gardens at il Rigo were a joy to see. We rented an electric car. While il Rigo does not have charging (and not expected!) we were able to find charging stations easily enough. Our car was able to handle all but the very gnarliest (truly a tractor path!) "roads". There is plenty of free parking at il Rigo. Our stay was 9 days at il Rigo. We would do it again without hesitation.

30/10/2025: I only judge the fact that they do not accept dogs, even a small Yorkshire toy, even in its carrier bag. I judge the structure to be TERRIBLE and I strongly advise against it.

06/03/2026: The quality of the food was truly excellent, carefully prepared dishes and excellent flavors. Unfortunately, however, the overall experience was ruined by the behavior of a single employee. Constant arguments in front of our table!

07/01/2026: Three people for a generous and delicious breakfast. The service could certainly be improved, the atmosphere is pleasant if a bit chaotic, but the quality of the desserts was good. The bread also seemed excellent. There were good bottles of local wine. The people who run it are simple but friendly. I'll be back.

08/01/2026: We trusted the reviews and went to eat at Cantina Osenna, and we were right. We enjoyed a lovely 1.2 kg Florentine steak, ribollita, and dessert to finish, all delicious and delicious, all washed down with a nice bottle of local red wine. The service and staff were excellent, and we highly recommend it.
