26/09/2025: Good food, varied and authentic menu, a bit noisy in the service, but nothing serious

07/09/2025: Definitely worth a try. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knows how to recommend, yet isn't intrusive and sometimes even very friendly. The food is excellent, and the garden is welcoming and has a lovely atmosphere.

12/10/2025: Last week I was in Erice. I usually get Genovese pizza where they know how to make it, but since I was with friends, we decided to go there to sit down and have a coffee. Prices were normal, the coffee was acceptable, and the Genovese pizza was beyond reproach: frozen, burned underneath, and the cream was a mess. €8 wasted for four Genovese pizzas. Make pizzas, they're good.

09/10/2025: The food was delicious. The system for serving food and paying wasn't all that easy to understand as a tourist. However, a friendly gentleman came over and explained it to us: Take a tablet, get the food, pay, find a seat, and eat. I'm not sure, but I think there would have been a waiter to serve you.

12/11/2025: I got the loaf at 6pm, then brought it home in the evening and it was rock hard, it seemed like it was made yesterday. The one I have at my house from yesterday was softer.

18/10/2025: The stuffed focaccias and biscuits were excellent, and we had them for a quick lunch! The staff were very friendly.

09/09/2025: A very well-equipped beach with all the amenities, very beautiful and pleasant. In the evenings, it's often used for dancing or for private parties.

26/10/2025: We returned after a while but we had a great time. The appetizer was exaggerated in abundance and variety (15 types) and cooked in the old-fashioned way. The first and second courses were excellent. A small fruit salad, but the apple pie was delicious, warm and with just the flavor of grandma 👵 thanks next time

24/06/2025: It's a shame because the place was beautiful and the waiters were very kind but that same day in the evening I felt sick and went to the bathroom quite a few times because I had a stomach ache.

12/07/2025: My trusted pizzeria for years. I recommend it for its 24-hour leavened pizza, the delicious, always-fresh toppings, and the kindness of the owners, Seby and Gaia. The best takeout pizzeria in the Etna area.

02/10/2025: Old hotel with minimal rooms and dated furnishings. Excellent location in the restricted traffic zone. The lady who runs it is courteous and attentive. Be careful about staying in the restaurant for dinner; prices are far too high for the portions.

14/09/2025: It seems to me that many of the reviews are derogatory. Or they refer to before the renovations, which took place around 2023 or 2024. What is certain is that the Hotel Moderno is now highly recommended. The rooms and bathrooms are furnished to a four-star standard. The restaurant has an enchanting view, both day and night; the menu is basic, but chef Baldo executes it very well. The wine and spirits list is basic but well-chosen, and we found the bulk white wine to be very respectable. The staff is friendly but discreet, the lobby is cozy and welcoming, and the background music is relaxing. Anyone who writes that parking in Erice is difficult and expensive either misunderstands or is not acting in good faith; for €12, you can park for a week in various parking lots. Erice is a medieval village, offering superb views, a pleasant climate, a relaxing atmosphere, and traditional cuisine and pastry shops that offer good value.

12/11/2025: I don't understand why it's so poorly rated. We had very good meat and pasta al ragù for lunch, then two slices of pie in the afternoon. Very good food and good service. We were there off-season, which might have made the difference 🙂

20/10/2025: We went in for a coffee and a dessert, but the choice was terrible. The lady behind the counter wasn't exactly friendly, and the bathrooms were dirty and broken, not to mention indecent. Not recommended. Luckily, we went to a different restaurant for lunch.
