12/07/2025: Very welcoming and almost homely location, the welcome is very warm and attentive, the service is very attentive, the mixed antipasto is recommended because it is very varied and abundant (that alone practically fills you up) but every bite is exceptional, so highly recommended because you would never stop eating.

11/07/2025: We literally stumbled accross this restaurant and I’m so glad we did. Being a vegetarian they made me a beautiful burrata and mint riavoli. It was heavenly! Genuinely amazing pasta. We then had a fig and a tiramisu dessert. Francesco our waiter was so kind. Thank you for your service and wonderful food. WOW!!

11/05/2025: We discovered Macchiaviva during a trip to Grottaglie and were really impressed. There were four of us and we had lunch choosing a first course each, accompanied by a fried fish to share and, to conclude, two homemade desserts. Everything lived up to expectations, but the mussels, very fresh and tasty, and the artisanal desserts, which show the passion and care with which they are prepared, deserve a special mention. The dining room staff and the owner family welcomed us with great kindness, demonstrating rare attention not only towards us, but also towards our dog, who was pampered like an honored customer. We will definitely be back!

10/06/2025: This was the perfect little pizzeria! Easy to find, wonderful menu. My waitress spoke excellent English, and the menu was extensive. There is nothing like a welcoming local eatery for an out of town traveler. Perfect pizza, wine and beer.

And the best ‘house wine’ by the glass I’ve ever been served in Italy - delighted to see it was from a winery about 10km away. Super local food and ingredients! Big recommend if you’re in Grottaglie

The setting is very pleasant; we're from a small business that, once you enter, welcomes you into a magnificent dining room with a library of wines from all over the world. 14/07/2025: I came to Italy for 20 days and I have to say this meal was the most satisfying food I have ever had! ! ! The owner was very kind and introduced their signature dishes in English. Both dishes were very delicious! ! The meat was not salty, which suited my taste. Highly recommended! ! There were a lot of mosquitoes when sitting outside

15/03/2025: I spent a pleasant evening, a real discovery for me as I'm not local. I couldn't choose between the staff and the food. The staff is very welcoming, always ready to answer all questions and, above all, always with a smile. The food is excellent, with tasty and well presented dishes. I highly recommend this pub. I will definitely be back!

24/06/2025: For Grottaglie it is my favorite pizza. Ownership is very nice and they work hard to have good service. The place us great for summer eating! Parking is not the best but it is not impossible.

18/06/2025: I was in Grottaglie for just 2 nights, and found Basiliano. It was a lovely restaurant, with great food, very professional and friendly wait staff, and a memorable, Italian atmosphere. Highly recommend.

06/05/2025: Trouvé au hasard des ruelles de Grottaglie et un peu surpris de l’absence de client, nous avons demandé la carte. L’accueil était vraiment sympa et nous sommes restés. La carte est vraiment originale et la cuisine fine et goûteuse ! A titre perso j’ai pris les spaghettis épicées ! Quelle surprise et quelle originalité. Bref on a adoré la cuisine, l’accueil et le lieu. Nous recommandons vivement !

14/05/2025: Beautifully restored building with high-tec digital features in the hotel rooms (esp. lighting). Unfortunately. I couldn't get the TV to work - I pressed literally every single button on the remote control, same with the heating; but then again I never called the front desk, so it's not really their fault. But the unit seemed only to provide cooling. When I was there, the spa was not available neither was the roof deck, but the staff are kind & attentive and the details to design are beautiful.

13/03/2025: Ok. First night of seven and it’s off to a great start. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the accommodations are above expectations. The location is perfect to the city center and all of the great ceramic shops. Looking forward to this week. They communicate via WhatsApp which is great for directions and recommendations. Update: It’s the end of the week and check-out time is in a few hours. The stay has been good with the exception of one staff member who put in an address to my phone for a location that ended us up in an unsafe area. The same staff member failed to read my WhatsApp text asking for an early pickup which ended up with an extra 15 minute wait. Also, the staff are extremely loud right outside my door at 6:30a waking me up early. Other than that, great stay, great location near pretty much everything in the town, and a great breakfast. If you get the opportunity, try the massage. It’s wonderful! I’ll definitely stay here again.
