23/01/2026: The restaurant looked unassuming from the outside and inside. However, upon entering, we were pleasantly surprised. A homely, family atmosphere was palpable. A smiling waiter invited us to a table and patiently waited while we placed our final order – it was difficult to decide, as the menu had so many dishes. Ultimately, we opted for the classic carbonara and gnocchi with vegetables. These were the best dishes we had at any restaurant on Lake Como during our week-long trip. The limoncello at the bar was also decent. The only thing that tempted us to visit this place was its opening hours, which didn't change during siesta – all the recommended restaurants were closed. Luckily, we found it and didn't rely on the reviews, which are definitely unfounded… If you're looking for a secluded place with delicious food (especially), we wholeheartedly recommend it!
10/01/2026: We had coffee after walking up to the Volta Lighthouse via the funicular. A nice hot chocolate or a beer for some, and then we were ready to walk back down and take the funicular again.
The view of Lake Como from the restaurant or the terrace is splendid.
The service was friendly.

03/03/2026: I've been to this bar often, but I don't like it at all. The service is terrible. They don't have to bring you coffee; you have to go get it yourself. And most of all, they're not very friendly. The only thing that stands out is the blonde lady. Close this bar down.

08/11/2025: ⭐ 1 star – Terrible experience and total lack of professionalism!
We've ordered from this pizzeria several times and they've always been late, but this time they went beyond the pale.
We called to order takeout pizzas: everything was fine, they told us to wait. After 40 minutes, we called back to find out the status of the order and they hung up on us. We tried again on another number, they answered as if nothing had happened and told us they'd be arriving in 15 minutes.
Half an hour passed, still nothing. We showed up in person and discovered they hadn't even started preparing the pizzas!
Moral of the story: they left us without food without warning, and with truly unprofessional attitude, we went ourselves. They told us they were closing, and in the end, they actually prepared our order and gave us a free Coke.
Too bad, because a courtesy call would have been enough to let them know about the problem. I hope we never have an experience like that again.

26/11/2025: It will never change 🤦😡 I've seen so many managers pass by!!! The pizza is a disaster! Oven always off, wait 30 minutes, and there's no one there! As long as we eat if there are no customers, spicy salami and ham pizza🤦 never change😡 the mozzarella is put after the tomato!!!!!¡🤦🤦🤦😡 No!!! The gold first they add the toppings then lastly mozzarella and basil! My salami not crunchy, ham, raw.. and not cooked, as Neapolitan tradition says!!!! But it's possible!!!!! 🤦😡😡😡 Oh well, it's been 20 years since I've been back......... Another 20 will pass, .PS. then I didn't eat it all, after 4 hours I reheat it, BRICK!!!!🤦😡 change jobs? No? 🤝 Best wishes!!!! Now I wonder why it's always empty! 🤦😂

16/02/2025: Ho messo una stella perché non si può mettere di meno per scrivere la recensione! Ci siamo fermati a pranzo e il fatto che il locale fosse deserto già ci aveva fatto insospettire. Il menù però sembrava invitante e comunque ormai avevamo chiesto la disponibilità di un tavolo: ordiniamo una porzione di spaghetti con le vongole (completamente privi di sale e totalmente insapori, tanto che per poterli mangiare abbiamo dovuto condirli con sale pepe e olio al peperoncino) da 13 euro, una porzione di fritto misto da 15 euro, una di patatine, un tè freddo e un caffè. Totale: 52 euro!!! Ho chiesto spiegazioni e mi e stato fatto un riepilogo velocissimo - da cui ho capito che la bottiglietta di tè freddo da 500 ml costa 4 euro! - dopo il quale mi è stato buttato sul bancone un foglietto scritto a mano con l'ordinazione ma non i prezzi. Oltretutto per mangiare in un posto vetusto, freddissimo e maleodorante. Da starci alla larga! Peccato perché da fuori sembrava una vecchia trattoria di campagna. Non avevo voglia di discutere, quindi ho pagato e ce ne siamo andati ma ovviamente l'ho segnato nella lista nera
08/02/2025: A place that I thought was Italian but instead there are foreign girls cooking, let's leave that aside, practically the prices are sky high, I ate the carbonara, it was disgusting, I also ate the pizza with all the ash underneath but a lot of it though, and lastly the Florentine tart which still makes me vomit and they only charged me for a price of raw meat 45 euros, a place that even if I die I will go back and many who have eaten here know that everything is disgusting, without flavour or salt, 600 grams of meat for lunch 45 euros but not even what I earn in a day and yet still frozen inside enough to vomit

01/03/2026: I woke up wanting to have lunch alone, and only one place came to mind: Osteria Hellera.
It's my third time having lunch here, and it's always a discovery.
I love this little place; it's intimate and the food is excellent, especially freshwater fish.
The service was impeccable, even though the waitress was alone, but she managed everything perfectly!
I can't wait to go back.
31/12/2025: Passing by, we stopped for lunch at this Hostaria, where we were greeted with a warm smile and were very friendly. Parking was very convenient, the restaurant was beautiful and characteristic. We
had lunch on the veranda overlooking the
lake. The menu was excellent and the selection wide, the service excellent, with just the right interval between the first and second courses.
The price was reasonable. We will definitely stop by as soon as we have the chance. Recommended.

29/09/2025: Delicious pizza and very friendly and helpful staff! There was once a miscommunication about the flavor of a pizza, and the delivery guy promptly replaced it.
Deliveries are on time and the selection is extensive. Recommended!

I showed up at this hotel for check-in a little before 2am on a Sunday in July 2024. There I was met with a closed gate with no way to get in for check-in.
I have my own car and it is almost impossible to park in the narrow street by the hotel, but I was able to temporarily park in the driveway of a neighbor of the hotel. The hotel is located within a fenced area with a large metal gate and it cannot be opened from the outside and it is therefore not possible to enter either by car or on foot. There is no poster or other information at the gate on how to contact the hotel. The hotel looks completely uninhabited and the neighbor with whom I parked said that there were nonsensical and problematic conditions there.
I then called the hotel manager on the number listed on Booking.com and was told that check-in had to be done in the city center at another hotel and that that was the only option I had. To get to this hotel you have to drive through impassable narrow streets with masses of tourists and I told the host that this was out of the question and that he had to show up at the hotel so that I could check in normally. Important: There is no place in the hotel information that it says that check-in should be several kilometers away from the hotel. He refused to come to the hotel to check in there and I therefore had to just leave and find another hotel. This matter is in my opinion completely incomprehensible. I have been on vacation in Europe now for almost four weeks but have never come close to this behavior from a hotel host.
STEER AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL !!

23/11/2025: I stayed in room 106 for two nights. The hotel was excellent and clean, the room was clean, and the staff, Mahmoud (Egyptian) and Suzi (Tunisian), were friendly, courteous, and hospitable. The breakfast was wonderful. It's conveniently located near the city center, overlooks the lake, and is next to the metro and bus stations, and opposite a Carrefour supermarket.
09/11/2025: It is hard to believe that a gorgonzola hotel exist in Italy and this one is vecchio borgo.
I stayed in 102 room and the smell of mold was terrible. I slept with the window open widly, even outside were 10 degree.
Terrible hotel, should be closed because is insanely dangerous to health.
Never again there.
