11/01/2026: Truly an excellent restaurant in the square in Macugnaga. Excellent appetizers and first courses. The desserts are truly amazing. Reservations are recommended because the place isn't very big.

I had the pleasure of dining at Ristorante Flizzi in Staffa during a visit to Macugnaga and was absolutely thrilled. Perfectly located right in the main square, the restaurant welcomes you with a warm and traditional atmosphere, yet with a refined and thoughtful touch that makes every meal special.

The dishes combine Alpine tradition with creativity and meticulous presentation. From traditional dishes like polenta with ragù and pink gnocchi to flavorful and well-balanced main courses, each course is bursting with flavor and made with quality ingredients. The wine selection is extensive and carefully chosen to complement the meal.

The staff is extremely courteous, attentive, and available to recommend dishes and wines. Their hospitality makes guests feel truly at home, without compromising on professionalism and expertise. 
🍷 Excellent value for money
Considering the quality of the ingredients, the care taken in preparation, and the impeccable service, every euro spent is worth it. It's an ideal place for both a romantic dinner and a lunch after a mountain hike.

09/01/2026: We went for lunch on Epiphany, we ate an excellent bagna cauda, and some excellent pizzoccheri alla macugnaghese, and a very good venison dish with polenta, the place is very beautiful and warm, the price was normal, the only flaw, when it came to the bill, the lady at the cashier (the owner?) did not want to give separate bills (there were 5 of us, and everyone ate different things) saying that the cashier did not allow it, rather strange as something.
03/01/2026: Everything was good. Only the waitress was not polite, we waited a very long time for our order

24/09/2025: It has always been my go-to place for excellent breakfasts, large brioches, excellent aperitifs with delicious platters and delicious snacks based on extraordinary cakes, true delicacies, reasonable prices. I have always been welcomed with kindness and friendliness in an environment that I was told has been renovated with a refined and unique taste. I have always found in Francesca and her children Laura and Alberto dear friends who I remember with affection. Our 4-legged friends are welcome. Macugnaga is a unique, enchanted beauty and the inhabitants always welcome you, as in this wonderful pastry shop, the pinnacle of the place. I highly recommend it.
18/08/2025: Beautiful place and very kind staff, the owner is really nice, the cakes are fantastic, today I had a piece of strudel (unfortunately there was little left) but it was one of the best I have ever eaten

31/12/2025: The staff were very unhelpful; we weren't even given a bar menu, and the hot chocolate was bitter to say the least. The view was beautiful, and the atmosphere was lovely.
28/08/2025: We stopped for a quick drink. Nice place with tables and chairs overlooking the lake. It's a shame the Spritz was quite watered down...

Very helpful and friendly staff, spotless rooms with daily linen change, and a varied and plentiful breakfast. Highly recommended!

05/01/2026: For lunch on January 1st. The service was courteous and prompt despite the swarm of skiers on the ground floor. We ate lunch upstairs in the quiet, warm wooden dining room. Well-prepared traditional dishes and a good selection of cheeses.
12/09/2025: We went with our grandparents and children for a snack a few weeks ago on a fairly cool, rainy day. We asked for hot chocolate, and the staff responded, "But it's summer...". I replied, "I'm in the mountains on a day like that." A snack with kids, summer or not, a hot chocolate is a must. The result? No chocolate. Anyway, we ordered something else, including a coffee and a cappuccino. We paid about €40, and I noticed that the cappuccino was listed as the price on the displayed table at €1.80, which was perfectly fair, and the coffee at €2.00. We pointed out that there might have been a mistake, but we were told that the coffee, which was listed at €1.30 on the displayed table, had been charged at the table service rate. I should point out that we weren't given a menu, and I didn't check to see if one was there, so I can't say whether the price on the menu indicated the €2 coffee price or the table service surcharge. But if you spend 40 euros, do you add 70 cents to the coffee for table service???

06/11/2025: The stars are for the view. I went during the week in autumn, aware that it was closed. But you're not even allowed on the viewing platform, which is simply outrageous! And the people at the tourist office agreed with me! Overnight stays aren't even possible unless you're a large group, of course... so I went around the fence on the left to get to the platform...
04/11/2025: 0 stars. If the lodge is closed, you're not even allowed on the viewing platform. It's closed, video-monitored, and they threaten you with fines. They don't deserve any guests. Only in Italy do things like this happen. What a shame, lost people...

05/10/2025: A special place. We arrived when the kitchen was already closed, but they let us eat anyway. The food was delicious, homemade. The owners were so kind; we chatted with them for a long time! We felt so comfortable that we even took a photo together afterward :)

28/12/2025: Excellent service, nice atmosphere, but unfortunately, it's clear that their pizza chef isn't keen on making pizzas. He made us two completely different pizzas from what we ordered, and when the waitress asked him to remake the pizzas as he was leaving (angrily), his response was "I'm out of dough." Nothing, we were speechless at his reaction. In conclusion, we ate one pizza between us.
23/08/2025: Yesterday we had lunch at this place. I don't recommend it because the food is poor and the bill is expensive.
