Rifugio Scarteboden In Macugnaga

After a nice walk you arrive at this wonderful place in a super relaxed way...the owners and staff are super kind and the food is tip top...

After a 30-minute walk through the snow, we reached the refuge. The hostess was very kind and patient, especially considering we were traveling with two children. The place is very well-kept, welcoming, and warm. The food was plentiful and excellent. We tried a first course, followed by polenta and venison, and dessert.

A truly wonderful surprise, a spontaneous, pleasant, open welcome that makes you feel welcome. We had a really good time and would love to come back!!!

Nothing to say, I went to Giorgio's with about 20 friends, and it truly made me feel more than at home. The food was delicious, from the cold cuts to the dessert, nothing like the other nearby refuges or the restaurants in town. It's a bit of a walk to get there, but it's worth it for three reasons: THE VIEW, THE FOOD, and GIORGIO. I still dream about the pasta alla macugnaga...we'll see you again soon. Keep up the good work, everything you're doing is absolutely right.

We were there on January 5, 2025 for lunch. The platter and the pasta alla macugnaghese were excellent. The owner and waitress were courteous and kind.
