02/08/2026: The best restaurant on the Milky Way, both for food and atmosphere. A true local institution! Definitely worth a visit if you're coming for skiing or even in the summer.

05/04/2026: Easter family lunch, excellent location, warm welcome, polite and friendly people. It's a shame we couldn't have lunch in the sun ☀️☀️. The wild boar was excellent, as was the venison and the purple gnocchi.

04/04/2026: We were having dinner for two, except for the house wine, which was awful—one sip and I had heartburn. We ordered a mixed appetizer: venison with polenta and roast beef. The appetizer was okay, the venison okay, but the roast beef was dry and not good at all. I didn't finish it. When we got to the cashier to pay, the cook came out, claiming the roast beef was delicious and couldn't understand why I hadn't finished it. At least the name was spot on. Highly not recommended, especially for €40 per person. The only good thing was the water.

21/12/2025: Good morning, just stayed here. Excellent location, my room had a view of the slopes, which are right in front of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and competent, led by the attentive and discreet manager, Marcello. I'll definitely be back.

16/11/2025: Terrible experience! I booked a double room through Booking.com for myself and my sixteen-year-old daughter from August 13th to 17th, 2025. On August 13th, we arrived at the property in the afternoon as planned. The room was beautiful, spacious, and the staff were friendly, even towards our furry friend. We spent a pleasant day exploring Sestriere and had dinner at a local restaurant, Dormiano. Unfortunately, on the morning of August 14th, at 7:00 a.m., my sister called to inform me that my father had passed away suddenly (he was in good health and hadn't woken up). So, after this rather shocking news, I packed my bags with the help of my daughter, went down to reception, told them I had to go home due to the sudden loss, and just had a coffee with a waitress who chased me around the dining room because I was at the wrong table! (They didn't list any room numbers or tickets indicating they were occupied.) I loaded up the car and returned to reception to pay. Surprise, they charged me the full amount for the four nights, blaming Booking.com's terms. I didn't argue because my only thought at that moment was to return home to my widowed mother and my sisters. I shook my head to express my disappointment and lack of empathy, and told the receptionist that I would report the matter to Booking.com. After a few days, between the trauma of losing my father, arranging funerals and visits for relatives, and immense grief, I contacted Booking.com. Booking.com candidly replied that they were entitled to a refund for the difference in the amount due to the loss. Since the reservation had required payment directly at the hotel, the hotel could agree on the price for one night and that they would contact the hotel themselves to get me a refund for the nights I hadn't stayed. In short, Booking.com was saying the exact opposite of what Hotel Du Col claimed, and proof of this is the Hotel Du Col's refusal to refund Booking.com, despite having provided my father's death certificate dated August 14th. Well, I believe that sometimes rules need to be set aside and we need to be humane, empathetic, and professional. Perhaps I would have stayed at this property on other occasions, grateful that they had understood the situation, or I would have given them good publicity. Instead, here I am. I'm sorry, but I consider them real thieves, since they must have resold my money, considering it was August 15th! So, not only was it a terrible summer, but also a terrible experience at Hotel Du Col, a night that was decidedly too expensive!!! Decide for yourself whether or not you want to stay at this property.

29/03/2026: Fresh, perfectly cooked food—the meat, the fish, the pasta—all excellent. They were also the friendliest of all the places I visited in Sestriere. The waitress suggested and helped me order, and every dish was amazing. Plus, the views were beautiful. Definitely recommended.

31/01/2026: The place is a little hard to find. The hand-cut, homemade fries are incredibly good. The chicken breast with mustard sauce was very tasty but a small portion. Nice wine selection. The owner is very friendly. We found it a bit pricey for what we ate.

07/07/2026: The best in Sestriere, where you can enjoy excellent pan-fried pizza, polenta, delicious raclette, pasta dishes, and much more. It's a satisfying place from breakfast to aperitif, with a wide variety of cocktails and a vast and impressive wine cellar, both in terms of quality and selection. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely worth a try!

01/03/2026: Nice place, the staff is very kind and helpful. The prices are fair: €3.70 for breakfast and €10 for a delicious snack. The atmosphere is pleasant and the location is very convenient. Highly recommended.

07/01/2026: We go to Bar Ristorante Monte Rotta every year, and it's always a guaranteed success. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming, and make you feel right at home. The food is excellent: everything is truly delicious, from the ravioli al plin, to the veal with tuna sauce, to the gnocchi, with authentic flavors and generous portions. It's a place we always love to return to, both summer and winter, and we recommend it without hesitation.

30/12/2025: The place is located in a charming area. It's a shame about the lack of customer service.

03/04/2026: It used to be a pleasant and well-attended venue, but unfortunately, today it has become something completely different. The atmosphere is out of control, with very young people, including minors, already in a state of intoxication, and situations that now seem to be the norm. During the evening, we witnessed dangerous incidents, with bottles of alcohol being thrown and ice being scattered on the dance floor with no regard for those dancing. We even saw a young man with a bottle of champagne in his backpack who, falling, spilled the contents of the bottle and glass everywhere inside the venue, causing a strong smell of alcohol! Security is practically nonexistent: the staff is present but fails to intervene even in obvious situations. A negative experience from every perspective. A place that has completely lost quality and control.

01/04/2026: I've been going to La Gargote for several years, and unfortunately, I have to say that the quality has plummeted compared to 5-6 years ago. It used to be a more serious place, with an adult clientele and a pleasant atmosphere; today, the situation has definitely deteriorated. The vast majority of those attending are now young people, often clearly minors. These aren't isolated cases: it's the norm. They come in with bottles brought from outside, drink without any control, and, even worse, deliberately throw bottles onto the floor, endangering anyone nearby. The mechanism is always the same: a few adults act as "supplies" by going to the bar to get cocktails for entire groups, allowing everyone else to continue drinking to excess. The result is an uncontrolled environment, where respect for others is completely absent. It's not uncommon for ice from glasses to be deliberately thrown onto the dance floor, hitting those simply trying to have a good time. Security is the most critical issue: bouncers are present, but completely ineffective. They witness these situations without intervening appropriately, giving the impression of total disinterest. It's truly a shame to see a once-reputable venue decline like this. Year after year, the situation seems to worsen, and today the experience is, frankly, squalid.

13/08/2026: It was my first time at this restaurant and I had a great time. The place is welcoming and elegant, the staff is friendly, and the food is excellent. The pizza they make is, in my opinion, very good and light (it's not a Neapolitan pizza with a thick crust). My only complaint is the price, which is a bit steep, but you have to keep in mind that you're dining in Sestriere.

10/08/2026: The service was appalling. We ordered three pizzas and a bottle of wine to take away. The cashier was incredibly rude, telling us to stand in a drafty corner. Mistreating customers is definitely not a good idea. The prices have gone up considerably for very, very small pizzas. In short, I suggest crossing the street to the bistro, a very nice place.
