08/03/2026: A very negative experience, unfortunately one of the worst. Mixed platter of cured meats and cheeses: very small portion and significantly overpriced for what was served. Polenta with venison was very hard, difficult to chew and swallow. The most serious problem, however, was a food allergy. I had clearly informed the waitress of my allergy, and based on her instructions, we ordered two entrees from the ones she had assured me were safe for me. When I was almost finished with my dish, the waitress came back to the table and told me I couldn't eat it because it contained the very food I'm allergic to. Unfortunately, by that point, I had already eaten it, and shortly afterward, it triggered my allergy, making me feel unwell. When I raised the issue, the waitress downplayed it, telling me I had misunderstood and that it was just a misunderstanding. The blame was placed on me, and the problem was then completely ignored. Unfortunately, in addition to the very serious management of the allergy, the quality of the food also didn't live up to expectations. Everything (including the gnocchi with toma cheese) was reheated because it arrived within a minute of ordering. My partner vomited all night.

21/12/2025: Good morning, just stayed here. Excellent location, my room had a view of the slopes, which are right in front of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and competent, led by the attentive and discreet manager, Marcello. I'll definitely be back.

16/11/2025: Terrible experience! I booked a double room through Booking.com for myself and my sixteen-year-old daughter from August 13th to 17th, 2025. On August 13th, we arrived at the property in the afternoon as planned. The room was beautiful, spacious, and the staff were friendly, even towards our furry friend. We spent a pleasant day exploring Sestriere and had dinner at a local restaurant, Dormiano. Unfortunately, on the morning of August 14th, at 7:00 a.m., my sister called to inform me that my father had passed away suddenly (he was in good health and hadn't woken up). So, after this rather shocking news, I packed my bags with the help of my daughter, went down to reception, told them I had to go home due to the sudden loss, and just had a coffee with a waitress who chased me around the dining room because I was at the wrong table! (They didn't list any room numbers or tickets indicating they were occupied.) I loaded up the car and returned to reception to pay. Surprise, they charged me the full amount for the four nights, blaming Booking.com's terms. I didn't argue because my only thought at that moment was to return home to my widowed mother and my sisters. I shook my head to express my disappointment and lack of empathy, and told the receptionist that I would report the matter to Booking.com. After a few days, between the trauma of losing my father, arranging funerals and visits for relatives, and immense grief, I contacted Booking.com. Booking.com candidly replied that they were entitled to a refund for the difference in the amount due to the loss. Since the reservation had required payment directly at the hotel, the hotel could agree on the price for one night and that they would contact the hotel themselves to get me a refund for the nights I hadn't stayed. In short, Booking.com was saying the exact opposite of what Hotel Du Col claimed, and proof of this is the Hotel Du Col's refusal to refund Booking.com, despite having provided my father's death certificate dated August 14th. Well, I believe that sometimes rules need to be set aside and we need to be humane, empathetic, and professional. Perhaps I would have stayed at this property on other occasions, grateful that they had understood the situation, or I would have given them good publicity. Instead, here I am. I'm sorry, but I consider them real thieves, since they must have resold my money, considering it was August 15th! So, not only was it a terrible summer, but also a terrible experience at Hotel Du Col, a night that was decidedly too expensive!!! Decide for yourself whether or not you want to stay at this property.

01/03/2026: Nice place, the staff is very kind and helpful. The prices are fair: €3.70 for breakfast and €10 for a delicious snack. The atmosphere is pleasant and the location is very convenient. Highly recommended.

01/04/2026: I've been going to La Gargote for several years, and unfortunately, I have to say that the quality has plummeted compared to 5-6 years ago. It used to be a more serious place, with an adult clientele and a pleasant atmosphere; today, the situation has definitely deteriorated. The vast majority of those attending are now young people, often clearly minors. These aren't isolated cases: it's the norm. They come in with bottles brought from outside, drink without any control, and, even worse, deliberately throw bottles onto the floor, endangering anyone nearby. The mechanism is always the same: a few adults act as "supplies" by going to the bar to get cocktails for entire groups, allowing everyone else to continue drinking to excess. The result is an uncontrolled environment, where respect for others is completely absent. It's not uncommon for ice from glasses to be deliberately thrown onto the dance floor, hitting those simply trying to have a good time. Security is the most critical issue: bouncers are present, but completely ineffective. They witness these situations without intervening appropriately, giving the impression of total disinterest. It's truly a shame to see a once-reputable venue decline like this. Year after year, the situation seems to worsen, and today the experience is, frankly, squalid.

01/04/2026: I remember La Gargote as it was a few years ago: a pleasant place, with an adult clientele. Today, it's become the exact opposite. The crowd is dominated by drunken minors. Not isolated cases, but the norm. They enter with alcohol from outside and, once they've drunk it, deliberately throw bottles at people, disregarding safety. The same pattern repeats itself: a few adults buy cocktails for everyone, fueling an out-of-control situation. Ice is deliberately thrown onto the dance floor, hitting those dancing. The bouncers are present but useless: they don't intervene. A place that has completely lost its identity and quality.

22/02/2026: Okay, pizza, okay, service... but the food is absolutely awful! The pasta is overcooked and tasteless.

11/02/2026: We always have carry out pizzas - delicious. The staff are friendly. Be aware that depending on how busy they are it might take some time. Ne vale la Pena.

05/01/2026: Zero consideration, after sitting for 20 minutes we left because we were completely ignored. The cabin was blacklisted.

22/12/2025: Excellent food, friendly staff, beautiful surroundings. Everything was taken care of down to the smallest detail, from the beautifully furnished and well-maintained refuge, to the filtered water included in the price, to the homemade bread and pasta. It was no coincidence that it was packed despite the surrounding slopes being closed (thus remaining somewhat hidden from the others).
