05/11/2023: We stopped at Pizzichella for few drinks during a warm October 2023. The staff was nice and polite, our drinks and coffee were great. The place has a nice view on the isola Bella. Great!

06/04/2024: Restaurant in the center, where giving in to the adaptation of Sicilian cuisine to tourism is unfortunately almost inevitable. Here, however, tradition, at least in some dishes, resists. And so the pasta alla norma is very good, the fish spaghetti more than decent. The starters include caponata and mussel sauté, both good. The fresh fish is a decent small sea bream. We avoid what is yielded to tourism and what can be seen on the plates of many Americans. The service was good (a little slow) and the bill was correct. It definitely deserves a good rating.

04/04/2024: Pizza and steak were shameful for Sicily. Atmosphere is done by nearby Bar. That is pretty much it.

12/05/2024: I tried a very good seafood smoked antipasti’s. Also tried the pasta and meat, both very fresh and delicious. The hospitality was fantastic. The owner and his son greeted us very friendly and made us feel comfortable. Definitely a place to come back.

10/05/2024: The food was delicious and there was also an Aperol and white wine. The location is super cute, on a quiet side street. The service was polite but not particularly motivated.

04/12/2023: When I think of Italian cuisine, a Trattoria or Restaurant doesn't immediately come to mind. I'm normally transported to the chiming of an Itailan guitar, a long table shaded from the sun under an Olive tree. A large family, busily chatting, catching up. The chink of cutlery and large bowls of beautiful fresh, rustic produce, or perhaps simple fish and meat pasta dishes being passed around, all washed down with a fine wine. Well,, Don Camillo's Trattoria ( yes, one of those that didn't occur to me), situated just up from the Porta Catania end of the Corso has all of the above,, well during the evenings at least so perhaps the shaded Olive tree might be missing but you'll still be beneath a tree on the terrace. Italian families? Yes you do get locals here so that should be telling enough. Now to what really matters, the food. It really is beautiful, fresh, rustic Italian food. The produce is fresh and seasonal so in a typical Italian way,, if they've got it, you can order it. The fish and Pasta dishes are excellent, beautifully cooked. The wine list is extensive all of which are very reasonably priced, and the attention to detail from the friendly staff is second to none. The ambience created under the softly lit tree branches provides a very romantic setting, ( the wife loved it ). Oh,, and you might not get a chiming Italian guitar, they have an eclectic mix of background music. You simply can't go wrong dining here. Highly recommended. Mark and Jules

15/10/2023: A lovely, peaceful milieu away from the busy streets of the city center. Good service. The recommended orange and onion salad with grilled sardines was excellent.

28/11/2023: In una splendida giornata di metà Ottobre ci troviamo nella meravigliosa Taormina invitati a pranzo dai nostri cugini per una festa di compleanno. Dopo una sana e suggestiva passeggiata nel Corso, all'ora di pranzo ci dirigiamo fuori Porta Messina e dopo pochi metri ci troviamo in questo fantastico ristorante. Ci accomodiamo nel bellissimo giardino circondato da tanto verde e pranziamo col seguente menù: antipasto di crudo con carpaccio, risotto alla marinara, mezze maniche con ricciola, filetto di pesce gratinato agli agrumi con insalata mista, vino e torta: che dire, tutto ottimo e con un gusto sublime, preparato con prodotti ottimi e freschi, sicuramente una ottima scorpacciata di pesce!! Sale interne molto belle, locale molto pulito e servizio ottimo con personale gentile e disponibile. Sicuramente consigliato, da non perdere!!!

18/11/2023: Se ti trovi a Taormina, fare tappa da Tiramisù è d’obbligo! Il cibo e la qualità della materia prima sono ottimi, il personale è attento alle esigenze del cliente e cordiale, i prezzi sono giusti per quello che offrono! Non vediamo l’ora di tornare a Taormina per passare un’altra piacevole serata nel vostro locale!

01/04/2024: The Lasagna Ragu was unbelievably yummmmyyyyy. Strongly recommended. And the chef was really nice. Great experience by the greatest view of the sea.

31/10/2023: The staff doesn't speak any reasonable language. The spaghetti was covered in fat and burped for the next half day. €48 for two plates of tasteless pasta and a small beer. At most, you can take a photo here (because it's a nice place), but stay away from food as much as possible.

26/09/2023: On pourrait penser à l’attrape touristes mais la qualité des bruschetta et du jambon melon était bien meilleure que certains bars du centre de Taormina. Très belle vue en bord de plage.

27/01/2024: Personale accogliente e preparato ad ogni nostra esigenza. Piatti gustosi..il signor Pancrazio e la signora Maria ci hanno accolto con garbo come del resto tutto il personale..un ringraziamento particolare a Lucio cameriere di grande esperienza. Posto consigliatissimo.

12/01/2024: It’s ironic that I had to travel all the way to Sicily to eat the worst pizza of my life given that this is the country of origin. The restaurant served food that showed that the owner clearly did not care about what was being served. I know that the town is a tourist trap, but clearly some restaurants still care enough to serve something edible. The food here was not edible. I ate a couple of mouthfuls and handed back a pizza that was both burnt and sopping wet with tomato water. The other food was almost as bad it is a shame because the view is beautiful. however, I came to eat and you can’t eat the view. I came to Sicily under the impression that the Italians loved food and left this restaurant. Completely perplexed. How can you serve a capriccioso pizza with what looks like three day old, sliced boiled egg? The artichokes were in edible. The fish in breadcrumbs was old and mushy and soggy with oil. Avoid this place and save yourself some money and some heartache. You have been warned.

08/01/2024: Trovandoci di passaggio a Taormina in tarda serata, siamo entrati in questo ristorante al fine di verificare se fosse ancora possibile cenare. Un membro dello staff ci avrebbe liquidato istantaneamente, in quanto aveva già risposto che la cucina era chiusa, mentre il gestore ci ha subito garantito che, qualora ci fosse stato posto in sala, avremmo potuto accomodarci. Il personale di sala, probabilmente mosso dal desiderio di terminare il turno serale al più presto, è stato molto efficiente, anche se chi ci ha servito delle birre in bottiglia non si è reso conto che fossero scadute. Avendo particolarmente sete, pur notando che le bevande emanavano un insolito odore e che avevano un retrogusto molto stantio, non abbiamo valutato l'ipotesi che non fossero idonee ad essere servite. Poiché, quasi immediatamente, ho ordinato una seconda bottiglia di birra dello stesso tipo, ho per caso scoperto che la data di scadenza era stata abbondantemente superata; pertanto, con particolare discrezione, ho fatto notare al cameriere cosa non andasse bene e lo stesso, senza profferire parola, ha provveduto subito a sostituire la bevanda con una non scaduta. Le pizze erano buone, ma niente di straordinario, e qualche dessert ordinato a fine pasto non ritengo fosse degno della sufficienza, tenuto conto lo standard della tradizione siciliana. Il conto, come prevedibile, é stato salato e nessuno sconto è stato applicato per ovviare al disagio delle birre, le prime delle quali nessuno si è, fra le altre cose, sincerato di verificare se fossero state idonee alla vendita. Da evidenziare la straordinaria cordialità di un membro dello staff, il quale ha accompagnato tutto il servizio con sorrisi e, addirittura, simpatici ammiccamenti nei confronti di tutti i commensali, indipendente dal loro genere e età.
