I was with you for lunch on Friday, July 9, 2024.
I'm writing this review for two reasons:
1) the food was 1/3 fantastic, 1/3 very good,
1/3 not good, or very room for improvement. If you would like more detailed information about my review - please contact me.
2) the main reason for my review is YOU!
I drove 650km by car that day to eat at your place. I was at your place at 11:45 a.m., the gate to the parking lot was open, I parked and waited until it was 12:30 p.m.
At 12:00 a man came (as it turned out later: YOU!!)
and said several times: “I have to clean here, this my job, please go”!!!!!!!
I didn't want to argue with the naughty gardener...
YOU have me and my wife:
- as a booked guest who just waited quietly
KICKED OUT!!
- stupidly lied
- and the lowest level of hospitality
undercut. That would be: A guest
Waiting quietly in the midday sun, a place
and offer a glass of water!
You are a decorated chef and I respect you for that. When it comes to manners and hospitality, you should definitely learn a few things.
BECAUSE:
It's not you who pays your bills, it's your customers and guests who pay them - and that day you lost at least two.

21/08/2024: The food is OK but very poor quality-price. Much too expensive: a tentacle for €24, decorated with mayonnaise?? Shrimp tempura: 4 shrimp with frozen fries and a non-housemade sweet and sour sauce. Dessert: ice cream good but 2 small curls in a hot bowl (7€) mixture too stuck... In short, very very disappointed. Positive point: a pleasant waitress.
21/08/2024: Very good dishes, pleasant and friendly service, but a lot of waiting, especially for a chocolate dessert (this should be specified on the menu).

09/08/2024: Very good service. The dishes are very good and in terms of the atmosphere and the view, it's very nice. You can see the lake. The prices are good: 1.50 € for an espresso with a view of the lake. Or octopus legs with potato puree: 17 € 2024. I highly recommend it.
31/07/2024: The food was above average (4). The place had a very good view and atmosphere. The service was bad (not all waiters) just the guy we got.
The service from him was very slow and he forgot a lot of things (asking for the order 15 minutes, no salt, bread, oil, even if we asked several times)

14/07/2024: Arrivati per caso, direi che è stata una vera fortuna! Piatti eccezionali! Consigliato anche per il no gluten ( pasta con vongole e friarielli ottima)..grazie!
11/06/2024: Sehr freundlicher Service und eine hervorragende Küche + ausgezeichneter Hauswein (rot wie weiß) und die Desserts sind ein Träumchen !
Wir hatten einmal Pasta mit Zucchini & Gambas, Spaghetti Pomodore, Pasta Carbonara und eine Pizza Tonno mit Zwiebeln !
Als Dessert hatte wir eine gemischten Nachtischteller! Alles war sensationell!!! Wir kommen auf „death sure“ wieder.

01/04/2024: Good lunch but for what you pay it's really SKINKY... I left hungry there was almost nothing on the plates and we're talking about dishes costing 16 and 18 euros... buy bigger ladles
24/03/2024: We had a great time at the inn on the charming and welcoming veranda! Simple but tasty dishes, fresh and tasty fish! Delicious appetizers! Friendly staff! Very satisfied with the location and the lunch before the visit to the Vittoriale!

30/08/2024: Very central location without being chaotic. Good dishes with small defects in execution (water in the artichoke salad, slightly undercooked tagliolini)
The head waiter was absolutely cold, while the waiters were decidedly more empathetic.
Correct prices for location and quality of food, even if a little above average

02/09/2024: Conoscevo già il ristorante, (provato con lo chef precedente), così come l’hotel e rimango dell’idea che avevo già che per una struttura di questo livello e ora anche per un ristorante stellato tutto dovrebbe avere una marcia in più.
Optiamo per una cena a la carte con due primi, due secondi e un dolce.
Risotto buono leggermente avanti con la cottura e spaghetti con ostrica molto buoni ma porzione decisamente scarsa (60 gr ?? ma hanno reso poco).
Maialino e ricciola soddisfacenti, così come dolce al mascarpone e piccola pasticceria.
Amuse bouche insignificanti per gusto e companatico insufficiente (il pane non viene servito ma vengono offerti solo grissini con farina di polenta e sfogliatine con semi)…mah!
Da uno chef pugliese le aspettative per il pane e soprattutto la focaccia sono sempre alte.
Neanche del pre-dessert non c’era traccia.
Servizio da perfezionare.
Location meravigliosa con tavoli ben distanziati ma la veranda andrebbe rinnovata con uno stile più ricercato.
19/06/2024: We (two couples) dined here to celebrate the 60th birthdays of our wives. The communication with the restaurant beforehand was excellent; they enquired whether it was a special occasion - I wouldn’t normally advise, but considering they asked, I did.
Having enjoyed a pre-dinner bottle of Prosecco in their bar / terrace, we chose from the a la carte menu (there are a number of tasting menus available), the choices were varied and interesting. Memorable was the risotto with burrata and liquorice. A good selection of wines were available.
The service was very good with attentive, friendly staff.
A surprise birthday plate for each of the ladies was a lovely touch to round the evening off.
All in all a very enjoyable evening.
We’ve been fortunate to dine in several “starred” restaurants, Il Fagiano’s is well deserved.
