On the way back to the car, I settled for various appetizers.
Customers look at the quality (very good, I repeat) but also the quantity!!!

It's indescribable. I stayed in one of the most beautiful places in Italy.
13/04/2026: The hotel is located at the end of the alley, in a very quiet location on the street parallel to the seafront. Excellent restaurants are nearby, just steps away, for dinner. A stroll down the street takes you to the town center, full of top-notch shops and culinary specialties.
Modern superior room with a large balcony, a very comfortable bed, a bathroom with a large shower, and a beautiful marble wall for storing toiletries.
Breakfast features excellent bread and croissants, fruit is available, and eggs and bacon are available upon request. They have a breakfast bar, and you can ask at reception if you need anything in the evening.
Friendly and helpful staff. The building is not new, but it's comfortable.

16/05/2026: Be Careful!! Watch out when paying. Ask for the receipt and triple check it. They tried to steal 170€ added on top of what we have ordered.
15/05/2026: We can't comment on the food since we didn't get a chance to try it. We were a few minutes late and our table had been reassigned. Okay, that's understandable, but a good restaurant owner wouldn't have made us wait for the next table in the rain… It's a shame, we're locals for four months of the year and won't be for many years to come… We're not sure we'll book again.

07/04/2026: Lunch on Saturday, April 4th.
Unacceptable service. We asked for a can of Coke three times, and the last time I got up to ask a waiter directly. Same with the sugar for the coffee. The staff was very young and visibly/totally inexperienced. I was touched by the young man who brought us a first course without saying a word. He stood there in front of the entire table, waiting for someone to take the dish from him. He didn't even know what he was bringing.
Another sore point: outrageous prices. I'd like to point out the cleverness of listing the brandacujun at €23 in the "secondi" menu. A classic, humble appetizer from the Ligurian tradition passed off as a fine second course at a price that was completely out of line.
Mussels and fried fish (a whopping €25) were absolutely tasteless. Terrible.

18/04/2026: The scallops were a bit saltier, the spaghetti with clams were good with average portions, and the tiramisu was a bit too revisited. They had ordered two glasses of wine instead of one. The restaurant was average.

We ordered pizzas and meat dishes: nothing special, so it's difficult to give it more than 3 stars.
It's just another restaurant among many others on the Alassio seafront.

The room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was calm and inviting, making it easy to unwind.
Breakfast was fresh and varied, with quality ingredients and plenty of choice to start the day right. The location was also ideal—convenient yet peaceful, perfect for both exploring and relaxing.
Overall, Hotel Gabbiano delivered a truly memorable experience with excellent service and comfort throughout. Highly recommended, and we would happily stay here again.
