08/10/2025: First of all, this restaurant is very good for Russian speakers because the waitress speaks Russian (I think she's Ukrainian according to the flag on the wall). The other thing is that the food is ordinary: the Bolognese, the tuna, the fritto misto di giorno are Roman-style squid🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️Where "misto" got lost, I don't know🤷🏽‍♀️I'm not satisfied with this restaurant. I have the feeling that I paid for something I didn't want... The tastes are ordinary, like the presentation. The waiters are good (I hope it wasn't the waitress's mistake with the squid dish), the atmosphere (in October 2025) was quiet, without noise, and we liked it.

08/10/2025: Insanely good seafood. Hard to find this quality.

23/09/2025: Beware of the grappa rip-off! After you've ordered and received the bill, a grappa is placed in front of you. You think it's on the house, since the bill was already ordered and the grappa wasn't. When you then want to pay, you're billed for the grappa separately, and the old bill is torn up. The food was okay, but this rip-off ruined our evening.

22/09/2025: The food was good, a bit expensive tho, but what you could expect for the location. The worst part was the service, they looked at us in the wrong way since the beginning, i would give it a -3 if the app let me... The woman looks at you as if she annoyed by your presence. Wouldn't recommend it

12/10/2025: Very friendly service! The waiters signore Sebastiano, signora Anjuna and everyone else were excellent personal. The food was delicious - nerver had such good grilled fish before. Especially the tuna steak. We loved it and will definitely come back! Thank you for this great experience!

19/09/2025: We had the perfect day at Tao beach club ! Incredible vibe! Beautiful atmosphere. The sun chairs, umbrellas , drinks and food were perfection. Everything was made with the best ingredients and presented with care. We loved having use of the tubes to go in the water. Felt like I was in an episode of White Lotus!

01/10/2025: Hotel Metropole is definitely one of the most luxurious properties in Taormina and probably the one with the best location. You are right in the center of the action among restaurants , shops, boutiques and bars. If you want to go to the beach it is just a 10 min drive away.

29/09/2025: Tried to visit for lunch during the terrible weather on Saturday 27th September 2025. From start to finish it was a disaster. Told we were able to sit down near reception, asked for menus, then told we weren't due to tour and asked to go downstairs to their other restaurant (female member of staff with brown hair and Gucci belt) - other restaurant closed to due to the rain. Then told it was ok to sit somewhere else on the upstairs terrace by same member of staff and then told my male member of staff that food not possible. All very confusing and not what I would have expected for a hotel of this calibre. Mixed messages. Disappointing.

16/10/2025: Portions were small for pretty unremarkable food - lunch menu price seems fine for such a tourist saturated area, until you’re charged an additional 3 euro per person for a cover charge, which does not include any bread etc. I’d absolutely say avoid.

22/10/2025: It's a shame they can't smile kindly when you come.. and maybe the boss should be better at delegating tasks. There are probably enough tourists that they can afford to be a little rude. The food was ok, nothing special, but quite ok. The place is well located. 2-3 stars.. unfortunately not more.. but try the place on a day when there are not many people..

19/09/2025: Tasty but overpriced food in an unfortunate setting. You're sitting on top of a main avenue and the noise/exhaust from constant traffic (mostly motorcycels, and buses) makes eating here a literal headache. Small portions and a 4 euro cover per person make this an terrible value despite the quality of the food.

14/10/2025: I actually just popped in here for a drink, and I also had a cannolo on the spot. It was freshly filled and tasted delicious. The staff was so nice! Thank you so much.

01/10/2025: GREAT PASTA I WAS COMPLETELY CRYING

10/10/2025: As many others, I rarely write bad reviews and do it with genuine regret. Unfortunately, this time I have to. I made a dinner reservation for two through the restaurant’s website and also sent an email to kindly point out that their Instagram link leads to a completely unrelated profile. My email was appreciated, and my reservation was confirmed. Sergio was very professional and kind in his reply. All good so far. When we arrived at the restaurant at the reserved time, it turned out there was no reservation under my name. The restaurant was only about 20% full, so it wasn’t a problem and we were seated right away. We looked at the menu and were ready to order, but no one came. After sitting for 30 minutes, I asked one of the waitresses if someone could please take our order. She said that only the boss takes the orders. In the meantime, we were offered wine. Another 10–15 minutes passed before the “boss” finally came to our table and took our order. By that point, it had been about 45 minutes since we arrived. We also noticed that some tables who arrived later were served before us. Based on other reviews, I can agree that the restaurant seems to favor certain guests over others. We ordered a platter of fresh fish and two main dishes. The fish platter arrived without anything acidic to balance the flavors — no lemon, no vinegar, nothing. We asked one of the waiters (who seemed to also be one of the “bosses”) for some lemon or vinegar. He looked slightly annoyed and said someone would come. A few minutes later, another waiter came to ask if we wanted him to explain what was on the fish platter. We said no, we’d just like some lemon please. He still went on to explain each fish in detail, and only after that did we get our lemon slices, about 5 minutes later. The main dishes were fine, just simple and fresh, but nothing special. Perhaps the chef’s concept is to serve everything rich and fried without adding anything sour to balance it, but as a guest, I shouldn’t feel awkward asking for a bit of lemon. The number of times we had to wave or call for service was simply too much. We are not picky guests at all, but this was just a poor experience. Everything took far too long and we felt neglected. Not once did anyone come to check if everything was all right. We always had to ask for attention ourselves. And this was with the restaurant less than half full. The food was mediocre and the service, unfortunately, among the worst I have encountered. Perhaps it felt even more disappointing because I had been really looking forward to this dinner to celebrate my birthday and had such a pleasant communication with Sergio beforehand. Sorry, Sergio.

01/10/2025: Wonderful dining in a beautiful, spacious, quiet, uncrowded courtyard right in the midst of Taormina.
