05/06/2026: When you dream of finding that one amazing restaurant while you're visiting Italy... you've found it, it's Taberna Santona. I walked in on a Friday evening not long after they opened. I'd read many great reviews and was nervous that the place would be fully booked, but to my surprise there was a choice of tables both inside and outside. All the staff spoke Italian with me and one server even kindly told me I spoke well, which I really appreciated because it means a lot to hear that from a native speaker. Everyone was pleasant, no one seemed impatient or uncaring. Tourists were treated as kindly as locals. Staff checked in a few times to see how everything was, including the owner (I think) who seemed genuinely pleased to hear that people were enjoying their food. I had the insalata normanna, which was an interesting mix of things i never would've thought to combine in one dish, but it worked very well. I thought the onion was a little overpowering but that was a minor detail. I then had the couscous Carlofortina which was also quite good. Both dishes were light yet still enough to make for a solid meal. Everyone raves about the chocolate cake, rightfully so because it was so good I got a second piece to bring with me. Get it with caramel and whipped cream. I'm not normally a caramel fan but i impulsively said yes when asked if i wanted it. this caramel tasted divine, not like it came from a jar. All the desserts are homemade too. The people seated next to me were talking about how delicious the panna cotta was. Places like these are what you'll remember months and years after your visit, and i hope to be able to come back soon. Grazie mille per tutto 😋🍽🩷

21/08/2026: The BEST food I've had in Sardinia. Typical Sardinian cuisine with excellent quality and flavors you won't find anywhere else, and generous portions. Good value for money. However, I can't say the service was as good. One dish took a long time to arrive while the rest of us had already finished eating, and if you don't actively seek out the waiters and ask for help, they ignore you. Only one friendly waitress seated us without a reservation on a Friday.

03/08/2026: We had a perfect evening at Volpe e l'Uva in Sassari. The pizzas are truly delicious and unique, with thoughtful pairings and top-quality ingredients. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel at ease right away. We dined with friends and everything was truly enjoyable, from the atmosphere to the service. We'll definitely be back!

23/02/2026: I came here for a hot drink and quality pastries. The bar is welcoming and spacious, with plenty of seating both inside and outside. The staff is professional. I recommend this place! A positive experience!

08/07/2026: Cool restaurant, smart menu with an endless list of pizzas. Unlike competitors, they always offer freshly baked focaccia and additional special dishes, like these squid ink linguine with crunchy saffron courgette bites (bit overcooked in my case). Food quality is above average but could be better, good service.

07/07/2026: Very nice restaurant. We had a wonderful meal. Excellent pizza, and the Cannonau beef tagliata with baked potatoes was really good, cooked to perfection. Excellent service, the waiter was kind and really knowledgeable. Thank you, we had a wonderful time.

14/08/2026: A fantastic discovery in Sassari! We had a wonderful time at Montecristo. The welcome was truly warm, friendly, and attentive. We received excellent advice on discovering traditional Sardinian dishes, and it was a real treat for our taste buds! 🇮🇹❤️ We were so captivated by the experience that we returned a second time to try other dishes on the menu… and we weren't disappointed! We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to discover authentic, flavorful, and generous cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere. Well done to the entire Montecristo team, and thank you for these two excellent meals! 👏

16/05/2026: A historic Sassari restaurant where you can enjoy the most famous and widespread traditional dish of Sassari: faine'. This ancient Genoese dish (which, according to tradition, was created upon the return from the Battle of Meloria) finds its culinary expression here. In this deliberately simple yet tidy and spotlessly clean restaurant, faine' takes center stage. In addition to this renowned specialty, you can also enjoy homemade desserts prepared with care and passion. Qualified and friendly staff and an exceptional owner make all the difference. Highly recommended.

31/03/2026: A very simple but truly satisfying dinner! The faine was excellent and the portions generous (neither of us finished our portion, so they let us take the rest home). The waiters were friendly and helpful, and the prices were reasonable. We'll definitely be back if we're in Sassari again!

12/08/2026: We sat down for a refreshing drink and were pleasantly surprised to be served not only a bowl of chips but also a generously filled appetizer platter at no extra charge. I recommend it, even if the waiter wasn't the most cheerful man in Sardinia.

17/08/2026: We visited this restaurant expecting to find gluten-free food, but we were in for a nasty surprise. The restaurant wasn't equipped for a dual-capacity kitchen. I find it really unfortunate that such a large restaurant doesn't have gluten-free options, considering there are many people there who are intolerant. So we opted for alternative dishes. The place is very noisy; you have to shout to talk. As for the service, I must say that the waiters are kind and helpful.

17/08/2026: The restaurant is very large, with plenty of seating both inside and out, so it can be a bit slow. The food is excellent, especially the main courses, while I expected better value for the first courses. I recommend this place for those who want to eat with friends, perhaps for an aperitif or dinner.
