22/11/2024: Piacevolissimo locale posto lungo la strada principale di Roccafluvione. Ristorante ben arredato e di discreto imprinting. menù basato su piatti tipici del luogo dove il tartufo e perennemente presente. Ben preparati, ben presentati e di ottimo gusto. Il personale di sala è professionale e alla mano. Ricca la carta di vini con etichette non solo locali.

21/01/2025: We had the pleasure of dining at Il Vecchio Mulino Ristorante-Albergo and the experience was simply fantastic. The quality of the food was extraordinary, with dishes prepared using fresh, high-quality ingredients. Each course was an explosion of flavours, from first courses to desserts. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff, which made our evening even more enjoyable. The atmosphere of the restaurant is welcoming and evocative, perfect for a family dinner or a romantic evening. I highly recommend Il Vecchio Mulino to anyone looking for great food and excellent service. We can't wait to return!

07/01/2025: The only negative note on 3 splendid days in Ascoli was to come across this restaurant. The management is family-run. In honesty I must say that the ability and commitment of the lady in the kitchen corresponds to just as much inefficiency and little transparency on the part of the children in the dining room (which frustrate the good work of the mother). The restaurant has no menu, much less a wine list. Starting from the appetizers which we did not want and which we partly had to endure, everything else according to the practice of the restaurant was practically imposed. A receipt with 43x4_tot written on it. 172 euros quantified our bill. I asked politely if the place operated with a fixed menu. The "Ruspante" son, with an aggressive tone "We treated you well, putting you near the stove, we could have stayed with our families on holiday while we are here serving you". Now, if I may, some unsolicited advice: warn customers when they sit down that they cannot eat what they want but what you have prepared at the price of €43 (ABOUT ALL NO ONE FORCED YOU TO OPEN) IN THAT CASE I WOULD DEFINITELY HAVE FOUND A BETTER PLACE WITH MORE PROFESSIONAL STAFF.

06/01/2025: During a walk in the center of Ascoli Piceno, always fascinating to visit, we decided to have dinner at Il Ruspante, taking advantage of the opportunity to discover the new location of the restaurant, which moved some time ago from Roccafluvione to the heart of Ascoli. Reservation was necessary and, once we arrived, we were struck by the well-kept location, with a lovely outdoor garden which we imagine is perfect for outdoor dining in the summer season. At the entrance we were greeted with great courtesy by the dining room staff, who immediately seated us and served us water, preparing us for the arrival of the appetizers. However, one detail left us a little taken aback: the restaurant does not have an à la carte menu and it was not specified in advance that the restaurant format includes a fixed menu including starters, first course, second course and desserts. This is a point that we recommend improving by notifying the customer at the time of booking for greater clarity. However the restaurant has a Very varied and quality fixed menu. The appetizers were a great start: a platter of mixed cured meats, a tasty crepe stuffed with truffles and mushrooms, crostini with sausage, perfectly cooked grilled bacon, a fresh cabbage salad and a hot bruschetta with very tasty olive oil. tasty. For the former we chose: Homemade gnocchi with porcini mushrooms, delicious and well prepared. Pappardelle with white wild boar sauce, discreet, but slightly less convincing than the gnocchi. Even though we were already quite full, the second courses arrived: A tasty cut, roast potatoes, a sample of fried Ascoli (excellent olives and cremini) and a pickled lamb, about which we had some reservations. All this was accompanied by a good quality house red wine. Finally, a delicious trio of homemade desserts and a glass of ratafià concluded the dinner. The staff were kind and attentive throughout the evening, the raw materials were excellent, and the owners were friendly and welcoming. The only sore point was the bill of €45 each, which we found slightly high. However, with such an abundant and complete dinner, the quality-price ratio is still satisfactory. Tip: it would be advisable to inform customers in advance of the fixed menu and its cost, to avoid surprises. In any case, congratulations to all the staff for the excellent culinary experience!
