Il Ruspante In Roccafluvione

For lunch on Easter Monday, a tasting menu. A generous appetizer began with a plate of cured meats accompanied by bruschetta with oil and salt. A very delicate Russian salad sphere and cabbage and carrot salad. Grilled pancetta and crostini with sausage. Crepe with meat and cheese. I was already full. Two first courses: tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms (probably preserved in oil), which weren't very exciting, and rigatoni with tomato sauce, which was good but too al dente. Two second courses: chicken cacciatore (a free-range dish that was a bit too tough) and lamb stewed with cabbage. They were good, but lacked a bit of salt, while there was plenty of pepper. Mixed salads were well-seasoned and varied to match the two dishes, one enriched with celery, the other with orange and apple, ideal for a fresh touch. Roast potatoes were rejected because we wouldn't have eaten them. A taste of Ascoli olives and homemade cremini. To conclude, a trio of desserts: a semifreddo, panna cotta, and an excellent zuppa inglese. We only ordered one portion to sample. Two bottles of water. We didn't order wine. They offered a liqueur. We finished with a coffee. Quick and attentive service. The price was proportionate to the quantity but not quite the quality. For those who already knew the place and could take away any leftovers, dinner was already prepared. Unfortunately, it won't be added to our list of favorite restaurants.

Ruspante is a restaurant that always amazes with the excellent quality of its food. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and it shows: from the handmade pasta dishes to the flavorful, well-cooked meats, and the authentic desserts that truly recall traditional cuisine of yesteryear. The portions are generous and the flavors authentic, making every visit a pleasant and satisfying experience. The atmosphere is welcoming, just the right amount of rustic, perfect for those who want to enjoy a relaxing and flavorful lunch or dinner. One small area that could be improved is the service: sometimes the waiters, trying to get you to accept their "spoken" menu instead of the à la carte one, can be a bit pushy. It's clear they do this with good intentions and to promote the daily specials, but a slightly more gentle approach would make the experience even more enjoyable. That said, Il Ruspante remains an excellent choice for those seeking quality cuisine, flavorful dishes, and a typically Marche atmosphere. A place we'll gladly return to!

Very good, excellent service and excellent food.

Exquisite, traditional, and well-balanced food. Simple but welcoming atmosphere. Awkward service: the waiter who greeted us was VERY intrusive, making unsolicited comments, often interrupting us at the table, and insistently urging us to eat everything he offered, even though we were full. Furthermore, despite the menu being available on social media, they didn't immediately inform us that there was a €40 fixed menu. If that's the restaurant's attitude, I advise those who work there to be a little more respectful of the space and the needs of their customers. Dinner should be a relaxing experience, but at Al Ruspante I felt very uncomfortable. Luckily, the food was very good.

Lunch at Il Ruspante was a pleasant surprise. Recommended by a friend, among the various restaurants we visited over the weekend in Ascoli Piceno, it was undoubtedly the best, for the quality of the food (which highlights the local tradition), the atmosphere, and the service (friendly and very attentive). The value for money was excellent. We felt "pampered and spoiled" throughout the meal. Highly recommended.
