06/08/2026: Great view, disappointing food and service. ​While this spot offers one of the best views of Lake Maggiore for an aperitivo, the restaurant falls completely short. The food is heavily overpriced and the staff lacks basic professionalism. ​We ordered the €17 spaghettoni and received a portion of cheap, thin spaghetti instead. When questioned, the waitress unprofessionally joked, "maybe this time they became smaller." If item is not avaliable you need to advise the customer before serving the dish. The €19 paccheri with zucchini and coconut milk was equally disappointing—bland, lacking any coconut flavor, and plated like a cheap trattoria dish. ​The aperitivo with standard nibbles and cocktails is fine, helped to the view, but the restaurant needs a major turnaround. The food quality simply doesn't match the prices, and service need a review on customer care.

06/08/2026: This isn't my first time dining here, but unfortunately I'm giving it 3 stars because I've noticed a decline compared to last year. The menu has been changed (a magnificent pizza was removed), the mixed fried fish has gone up in price and decreased in quantity, though still delicious. The starters introduced this year aren't anything special, but above all, they seem more like tastings than a main course. The location is very beautiful, the only flaw is that there's no smoking area. Eating with people smoking next to you, perhaps even a cigar like I did, isn't pleasant. And when we sat down, there were cigarette butts in the ashtray on our table, which I asked to be taken away. I'll definitely be back to see if I have to change my mind.

02/11/2025: The comment about the mushroom tart, which I read, was misplaced: it was good and as described, beautifully presented. On the other hand, the snobbish use of English terms to describe customer service, which was certainly not lacking, speaks volumes about the person who commented. The meat was very good, and the wine was up to par. The only flaw was the very noisy place, with moments of annoyance: there were a lot of children, but the noise came from the adults (think about it!), and the wait for the dishes was a bit long.

27/10/2025: The food is excellent and the service is friendly. The place is even prettier after the latest renovation! The idea of ​​a birthday party at Balabiott with their traditional camparino was also great. Fantastic place and highly recommended!!!! ❤️🥩🍔🍕🍝❤️

15/08/2026: I went today, August 15th 2026. The place was clean, the atmosphere welcoming, and the staff very friendly. Excellent food, all fish, perfectly cooked, good wine, fast and accurate service. Reasonable price.

04/08/2026: We were recommended by the hotel, otherwise we would have missed it because the exterior isn't attractive and looks old. But the interior is much more appealing: a beautiful table with a cloth tablecloth and real napkins (not paper), even elegant! The prices are reasonable and the food is good. The only downside is that we ordered focaccia and were given a pizza... Everyone knows the difference. I find that unacceptable! The waiters and waitresses were pleasant.

21/01/2026: The pizza is decent, but unfortunately the cleanliness isn't top notch. It's a shame, because with a little more attention, it's not that bad.
