Excellent food at a good price. Superb quality meat and fantastic homemade gnocchi. My husband was at Crotto Belvedere 20 years ago. And he said it was just as good as it was 20 years ago. It's very rare for quality and taste to remain consistent for so long. We'll definitely be back!

After a 15-minute walk from Chiavenna, we reached this Crotto. It was a wonderful experience, both to visit the crotto and hear its history told by the very kind owner, and to dine on the veranda, a traditional dinner at an excellent value. We will definitely be back to try the cheese platter, which we missed tonight due to our cravings for other dishes! But we highly recommend visiting this enchanting place. Excellent wine selection. Nice place near the river. Convenient parking nearby. Good service, friendly staff. Large portions of first courses 👌 Second courses could be improved... (making a single dish with vegetables would make the meat lose its flavor).

A crotto rich in local culture, where the dishes, in their simplicity, convey an ancient value and convey all the humanity of a border people accustomed to respecting travelers. The music of the river, babbling alongside the garden, completes the pleasant and relaxing experience guided by the owner and all the staff, who add their expertise to the selection of local cheeses. These cheeses don't have high-sounding names (sometimes too commercial), but are the fruit of research and good taste. Everything is portioned just right, leaving you feeling full without feeling weighed down, so even the bill is balanced and gives you the feeling of having been hosted by a friend. Update 2025: Unfortunately, I will struggle to return. I have three small mutts, a part of my extended family; I wanted to return in September, but the conditions required aren't suitable for my pets. This doesn't mean to take away from the past experience.
