12/07/2026: July 11, 2026, I arrive in Casteggio for the beer festival, but the party starts in the evening and then on Sunday. I search Maps for reviews of a restaurant with home-cooked food, fair price/quality... And the result is Leon D'oro, 5-star reviews. Spot on. Real reviews. We ate and drank just the right amount. The entire menu tasted just right. I had the daily menu, all fresh, 5 stars. Marco, the owner, was great and friendly, even with me, even though it was my first time there. To be top-notch, I recommend freshening up the atmosphere. Thank you so much, Marco.

13/08/2026: We spent two nights at this wonderful resort and winery, surrounded by greenery, hills, and vineyards, and we were truly thrilled. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the kind, helpful, and friendly staff, who made us feel immediately at home. I was traveling with someone with mild disabilities, and the entire staff helped us in every way, with a rare sensitivity and naturalness. We never felt uncomfortable; on the contrary, we felt welcomed and supported in every way. This is something we greatly appreciated. The rooms are beautiful, clean, tidy, and very comfortable, equipped with everything you need, even a small refrigerator. The atmosphere is cool, quiet, and relaxing, perfect for those who want to get away from it all and enjoy a few days of tranquility. We also enjoyed the pool, which was truly pleasant, with clear, clean, and slightly salty water. The entire property is meticulously cared for down to the smallest detail and is truly splendid, especially for its location and breathtaking view. Having breakfast with such a view was a true pleasure: the buffet was generous, and the setting made every morning even more special. It was truly a shame to have to leave! We will definitely return, because they were two days of pure relaxation in a beautiful place, made even more special by the kindness and attentiveness of all the staff and the owners we had the pleasure of meeting. 04/06/2026: My wife, my two children, and I had dinner at Santopalato on a Monday evening. The welcome was both unusual and honest: before seating us, they invited us to read the menu to make sure their offerings would meet our tastes. A perfect choice that immediately made it clear that this isn't just a "normal" restaurant, but a place with a strong identity. The setting appears simple at first glance, but it's actually meticulously crafted, extremely clean, and tidy. The real showpiece, however, is the kitchen: entirely visible and positioned right in the middle of the room. This element draws you into the experience even before you begin eating. We were on a true journey of flavors. We started with a fresh appetizer of monk's beard and raw tuna, accompanied by a local salami that was nothing short of stellar. But it's the meats that really show off the restaurant: we sampled a delicious, buttery tongue, an exceptional asado, and a textbook pork belly, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. To drink, in addition to water, we paired our meal with an excellent bottle from the local Montelio winery (€25). To round things off, the desserts (strictly made by the chef and of incredible quality): a panna cotta with berry jam and a phenomenal tiramisu, served tableside with hot coffee poured over it. The service was top-notch. The chef himself served us and explained each course, engaging us and even showing my daughter the steps of the preparation behind the stove. His attention and passion truly make the difference. The final bill was €168 for four. After including the bottle of wine, the food came to around €35 ​​per person. The quality-price ratio is perfectly in line with the excellence of the ingredients, the meticulous preparation, and the generous portions (we left the table feeling quite full). Highly recommended for those looking for more than just a meal, but a true experience.

22/02/2026: A highly refined, light, and easily digestible pizza. A rare find where you can pair your favorite pizza with a local sparkling wine from the Oltrepò area. We've been traveling 30 kilometers to eat their pizza for years.

01/05/2026: Remembering our frequent visits to this pizzeria years ago, when the pizza was excellent and the service was decent, we recently returned, unfortunately, but not with the same satisfaction. In fact, we've been completely disappointed, and never again feel like the beautiful Neapolitans. Especially on busy nights, the wait times for orders and courses are incredibly long, the pizzas are subpar and often not as expected, and the table service is almost nonexistent: only one waiter for three rooms, who, moreover, is as friendly as a case of spastic colitis. Whole tables of uncouth, uncouth people make a racket, shouting, making verbal communication impossible with other customers at nearby tables, and the manager/owner does nothing to calm them down, despite our various protests, etc., etc. When we complained, the owner himself could only arrogantly stammer something along the lines of "we need to be patient" and "there are no more experienced and qualified staff." Conclusion: a highly discouraged place, and one we, at least, will steer clear of in the future.
