27/10/2025: I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel it’s my duty to share this in the hope of saving someone else from what we went through. This place clearly does not welcome tourists, especially people of color. The owner, a former football player Paolo, was shockingly rude and dismissive. My husband and I travel to Italy every year, usually staying at our place in Milan and exploring the seaside. In June, a friend who loves Borgio Verezzi invited us for a weekend. Since her favorite hotel was full, we booked a room at Antica Osteria Saracena del Bergallo. From the moment we arrived, the way they looked at us made me want to leave immediately. We decided to stay anyway, thinking we’d spend most of our time at the beach in Borgio Verezzi. Unfortunately, things didn’t get better. Breakfast was uncomfortable, and dinner even wors, the night manager was even more rude. The staff acted as if they had never seen a Black person before. No matter how much we spent, we were treated with coldness and disdain. My husband, who is very warm and outgoing, even tried connecting with the owner over football, since he has worked with well-known players. Still, nothing changed. Whether it was because we’re a biracial couple, Black, New Yorkers or simply tourists, the message was clear: we were not welcome. We left deeply disappointed by such inhumane behavior. Thankfully, the nearby restaurants and hotels were much friendlier, and some young people who recently opened a bar below the building were incredibly kind. After that weekend, we continued our travels to Turin, Vernazza, Camogli, Ponza, Monte Argentario, and back to Milan, and we’re so grateful we didn’t experience that kind of treatment anywhere else. A Vacation should be comfortable not stressful. we will not even pass by this place again. Il proprietario Paolo è stato scortese, freddo e distaccato, e il responsabile notturno ancora più maleducato. Ci siamo sentiti a disagio, come se non avessero mai visto una coppia mista prima. Solo una collaboratrice ha cercato di farci sentire a nostro agio, ma il resto dello staff giudicava e pettegolava. Fortunatamente, i ristoranti e gli hotel vicini a Borgio Verezzi sono stati molto più cordiali e accoglienti.

26/07/2025: Bel ristorante proprio all'inizio della zona pedonale del paese, con bellissima vista sul mare. Piatti di pesce molto buoni, servizio giovane, attento, molto gentile e disponibile.

20/07/2025: Buon ristorante nel borgo con vista sul golfo. Piatti classici liguri nella norma e buon servizio. Prezzo un po’ eccessivo…ma si paga la posizione.

22/09/2025: Discovered this place by chance. The fried fish was plentiful and melted in the mouth. The fish entrees were plentiful and delicious, and the octopus and potato salad wasn't that plentiful, but it was good. The place is family-run, and the food is simple. I'll definitely be back.
