08/03/2026: Unfortunately, the experience was marred by a huge delay in serving the food, with a wait of over an hour for appetizers... truly too long. As for the food, nothing to complain about; everything was fine. The setting was excellent, of course, overlooking the sea and with a view of the Calata and Palmaria. Overall, it was an experience I probably wouldn't repeat due to the slow service.

Pleasant, knowledgeable, and polite staff. Very beautiful place with a sea view. We'll definitely be back.

07/12/2025: Great discovery. We came for lunch and found a relaxing and cosy vibe (it's winter time). Food was delicious, nicely presented and reasonably priced. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We'll be back for sure !
12/11/2025: Delicious food, great service and a lovely atmosphere - calm, unrushed and casual, exactly what we were looking for at lunch. The pistachio semifreddo deserves a special mention - one of the best desserts I've ever tried! - as does the sciachetrá with cantucci. Highly recommended

23/10/2025: Everything was absolutely delicious — from the crispy fried calamari to the pasta and the mussels, every dish was full of flavor. The wine was so good I couldn’t help but have a few extra glasses. What really made the experience even better was the amazing service from Genaro and his brother — they made us feel truly welcome. We’ll most likely come back, not only because of the food, but because of how great the whole evening was.

04/12/2025: A beautiful location and atmosphere, I was very pleased and relieved when they said they could make the pesto pasta vegan so I could eat it (no milk, eggs). Unfortunately we had requested penne pesto pasta and after twice bringing us the wrong pasta we decided to leave it. They said they wouldn't charge us as we had really tried to explain we wanted penne, but they still charged us which meant we ended up paying for two extra dishes. They also didn't say the bread cost extra too. To be honest I think they just thought we were foreigners they could hustle, so could be worth you showing a photo of what you want as 'penne' isn't clear enough and you'll end up with 'trofie' or the small penne instead of the larger size that I thought was standard for penne. 😂👎🏻

24/01/2026: Excellent dinner. We ordered the mixed appetizers for two, and we ended up with 12 truly delicious appetizer courses. The tuna steak was excellent, with the freshest fish! The squid ink tagliatelle wasn't the best, but everything else was excellent!
Excellent service and a very varied and quality wine list! Highly recommended.
21/10/2025: Beautifully situated on the water, it's incredibly cozy when it gets dark and the lights in the bay come on. The food was good, but nothing more to say. Service is prompt but not entirely up to par with the rules of gastronomy.

Well done! 👏 You only eat what's in the kitchen (and only fish), a guarantee of the quality of the dishes. The owner tells many anecdotes that brighten the evening. We'll definitely be back!

The terrace setting is idyllic. It's easy to understand and feel that this is a generous meal prepared by passionate people whose goal is to showcase local produce. The meal was divine, as was the service.
A must-do if you're near Cinque Terre, rather than heading to a tourist trap.

I've just had the most magical 3-night stay at the Grand Hotel Portovenere, and I'm already dreaming of going back! This place is an absolute gem, set in a beautifully restored 17th-century convent right on the water's edge.
From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their kindness and passion for the region truly made our trip special.
The food was a highlight every single day. Dining at the Palmaria Restaurant with its stunning panoramic terrace views was an experience in itself. The cuisine was innovative, fresh, and absolutely delicious—a perfect taste of Liguria!
Waking up to the view of the colorful harbor and Palmaria Island from our balcony was unforgettable. The hotel's location is perfect, right in the heart of charming Portovenere and with the ferry to the Cinque Terre literally at your doorstep.
If you're looking for a luxurious, romantic, and utterly satisfying escape, look no further. I can't recommend this hotel enough!
14/08/2025: An amazing vacation; calling it a hotel is an understatement given the many activities available thanks to the concierge's invaluable advice.
We tried the sunset boat excursion with aperitif and an exclusive boat tour of the Cinque Terre. Needless to say, the location is fantastic for visiting the center and the famous church of San Pietro. Close to excellent restaurants, including the Grand Hotel's own: the Palmaria restaurant. The friendly, helpful staff helped make those days and our stay at the Grand Hotel itself a special memory...thanks again!

21/03/2026: We were intrigued by their gardens in the hills above Portovenere, and even a simple pizza didn't disappoint: meticulous attention to detail in the dough creates a unique fragrance, lightness, and digestibility, even on the crust...not to mention the freshest, zero-mile ingredients (homegrown vegetables and oil). It's not cheap, but the quality and quantity are worth it. A veranda overlooking the sea, prompt service, and a great sense of humor.
21/11/2025: Disappointing, cold atmosphere, rude owner, unhelpful, disinterested in his work and customers. The only one who put in the effort was the waitress! I recommend spending less time on social media and more time on work! Negative rating.

13/01/2026: Well done, keep up the good work, I had a great time, it's a bit pricey but it's worth it, the cappon magro is exceptional, the ravioli stuffed with fish and the stuffed mussels are delicious, go there and if you don't know the cappon magro it will certainly be a nice surprise.
09/01/2026: We had dinner here with friends. It was a memorable evening. I personally had the Gratafin and the pasta with mussels, and to finish, the lemon cake. It was a great value.
