24/02/2026: A thrilling experience for the palate. Traditional dishes revisited by an excellent chef. I recommend the tripe in white sauce with truffles. Unrivaled. Everything we tried was excellent: the "gocchi" (a type of pasta) as an appetizer, and the truffle gnudi as a main course.
The service was attentive, courteous, and witty, but without being overbearing. I recommend it to everyone.
We'll definitely be back.

02/11/2025: I stayed at the Porta Franca refuge for lunch and dinner, staying in a shared room! What can I say? A wonderful experience, made even more so by the generous and kind welcome we received from the CAI volunteers! They were attentive and thoughtful, and I must say, very friendly! Honorable mention goes to Mrs. Cinzia and the other chef (forgive me, I don't remember her name) who delighted us with delicious dishes! Thanks also to our contact Alessandro, especially for the strudel he gave me for the return trip! Thank you so much!
07/10/2025: A lovely place to stop for a bite to eat or grab something to eat directly at the refuge. The food is spectacular and delicious.

17/01/2026: Beautiful and welcoming atmosphere; they lit a fireplace in the dining room for us, and it truly created a wonderful atmosphere.
The staff is made up of young people, with an average age of 22, who are truly capable, courteous, and efficient. My compliments, truly.
The food is delicious, made with their own ingredients... in fact, by touring the farm, you can see Cinta Senese pigs and other animals grazing.
In the tranquility of the mountains above San Marcello Pistoiese, a wonderful discovery.
It's also great for picnics; they even have barbecues available for you to cook your own meat!
14/01/2026: A wonderful experience. They're young and very kind, and they make you feel at ease. My family was amazed. It's a wonderful place nestled in the mountains, incredible!!!
The dishes are excellent and delicious, especially for those of us who prefer meat-based menus.
In short, it's already our second time there, and we even left some feldbaks for some of our friends, but we'll definitely be back soon.

17/08/2025: The thin-crust pizzas are well-made and topped, though perhaps I would have preferred more sauce. The meat main course is excellent. Crostoni are very rich in mushrooms, but the bread could be toasted and spiced a bit more. There are a few Asian dishes on the menu, but there are some language barriers with service, and on peak days, the wait can be a bit long. The atmosphere is charming, with a panoramic veranda, ample parking, and reasonable prices. Perfect for a cool evening.

Prezzi alti, qualità penosa
26/01/2025: I tavoli all'interno e all'esterno permettono di prendere cibo dal self service o dal bar e mangiare insieme agli amici anche cibi diversi.

29/01/2024: Locale perfetto per cene tra amici, ambiente informale ma curato e eccellente cucina. Ottima anche la pizza, con ingredienti sempre freschi e di qualità. Servizio amichevole ma attento. Prezzi molto onesti. Una sosta molto piacevole che invoglia a tornare.
Ampio parcheggio.
11/11/2023: Cucina casalinga ed economica in questo locale frequentato da gente del posto e persone di passaggio. Il menu ha sempre una discreta varietà e anche piatti non banali con accostamenti creativi. Un indirizzo da tenere presente, per mangiare sano a prezzi onesti.
