19/10/2025: Bees everywhere... and they eat the food!!! One was eating mortadella from a sandwich on display and I was right there!!! Cold, low-quality food. Never again. If it were called a "Bee Bar," it would still disgust the bees.

30/09/2025: Very friendly, and the food was amazing again. We've eaten here a few times now, and it's always great for €16 per person for two courses.

22/07/2025: I go there every time I pass through Viareggio. Nice variety of dishes.

19/07/2025: Rude and unprofessional staff. They literally attacked me when I pointed out that the dishes did not correspond to what I had requested, given my food allergies.

05/10/2025: We ate out seven nights in Viareggio and this was our one repeat as we really thought it was the best.

13/05/2025: Molti ne dicevano male. Mia figlia invece c’è stata a cena più di una volta. Abbiamo esperienza di posti così, dove si pranza a menù pressoché fisso a prezzi stracciati per pranzi di lavoro. Oggi il locale era pieno, operai pensionati giovani coppie e famiglie. Locale caratteristico all’interno della cittadella dove ogni anno i viareggini allestiscono i loro carri carnevaleschi. 58€ in tre per mangiare due piatti di tortelli al ragù, un enorme fritto misto di pesce (bello asciutto e saporito con patatine), panzerottini fritti, pane, acqua, dessert Versilia per due e tiramisù, con tre caffè finali. Il vino era compreso ma non lo abbiamo voluto. Rapidi gentili indaffarati (era stracolmo il locale), piatti caldissimi fatti al momento a regola d’arte anche se senza grosse pretese. Ci teniamo a scrivere questo perché molti commenti sono pesantemente negativi. Ci parevi giusto dire la nostra opinione!!! Per quel prezzo….

14/04/2025: I went for lunch during the week and I must say that the value for money is excellent, the portions are also super generous, the service was slow but only because there were so many people.

19/07/2025: Encantador helado hecho por el propietario incluyendo algunos diferentes de la tarifa habitual. 2 € la cuchara excelente relación calidad-precio. Hay algunas mesas para sentarse en lugar de luchar con el derretimiento de helado y caminar.

08/03/2025: Famosa da sempre, la Cremeria Emma porta avanti una tradizione nell' arte della gelateria a dir poco unica! È una tappa obbligata per staccare la spina e provare proposte originali come la macedonia invernale con gelato 😋

17/08/2025: In a summer where everyone complains about beach prices, I found excellent service here at a more than fair price. Well-spaced umbrellas (there were days when we had four lounge chairs under our umbrella and didn't bother our neighbors at all) and free parking for guests, at an unexpected price and with a proper receipt. The managers are kind and honest. Congratulations! We'll be back!

12/08/2025: Excellent beach resort, quiet and without any noise. The restaurant is excellent, with reasonable prices considering you're enjoying a fish dish practically on the beach.

13/09/2025: Review for the restaurant. Family lunch. Really good seafood menu. Everything is gluten-free (even the fried foods, pasta dishes, everything). I'll definitely be back.

03/09/2025: Cleanliness, order, and organization are the hallmarks of this Versilia beach resort. The distance between the umbrellas and the bar/restaurant is also good. Recommended 👍

08/09/2025: Dear Hotel Playa Team, We would like to thank you very much for the wonderful stay at your hotel. We particularly enjoyed the location directly by the sea and in the shopping area, which made for a relaxing holiday. The room was always clean, and the food in the hotel restaurant was very delicious. We would especially like to praise the excellent service, from the manager himself to the entire team. We always felt well looked after and were provided with many useful tips for excursions in the surrounding area. The parking in front of the door at a fair price of €8 per day was also very convenient. Overall, we were completely satisfied and are already looking forward to our next visit to the Hotel Playa. 19/08/2025: After an afternoon at the beach, we stopped for dinner. It was a lovely surprise; we dined by the sea. The service was quick, the staff was friendly, and the seafood risotto was truly excellent. I'm giving it 5 stars and looking forward to another dinner to try other dishes.

15/08/2025: What a shame. The staff was kind, but the kitchen was out of order on August 15th. The menu had a choice of three appetizers, three first courses, and three second courses, and it was unbearable. Arriving at 12:30, we ate the last course at 3:00 PM. The ingredients were frozen. The staff, though very embarrassed, were kind. With those ingredients and that service (meaning the kitchen) it was expensive even at half the price. What do I know? I eat at restaurants for lunch and dinner every day and have even worked in the industry. 2 out of 3 diners reluctantly gave up their second course. I had to apologize to my guests. #SHAME

11/10/2025: We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of friends who described it as a simple yet authentic place, with generous portions and fair prices. Unfortunately, our experience was the exact opposite. The place is modest, a bit old-fashioned from the '70s and '80s, and we entered with the best of intentions. I even joked with the waiter, asking if the portions were really large, and he assured me they were "generous." Too bad that wasn't true. The house appetizer consisted of three tiny samples, clearly prepared some time ago. The grilled fish didn't even weigh 150 grams—including the shrimp carcasses—and the sea bream all'isolana was perhaps 100 grams of real fish. The zucchini served on the side were sour, probably cooked in poor-quality white wine: I, who am usually not picky, couldn't eat them. Final bill: €60, without wine, just a bottle of still water. Overall, a disappointing experience in every way. A place to forget.

04/10/2025: Charming restaurant. Delicious antipasti. Delicious fish dishes. Pleasant white wine. Extremely friendly and efficient service. Everything was excellent.

20/09/2025: DIRTY, OLD, DISGUSTING We had a suite that was so dirty that we were offered a new one. This one, too, was DISGUSTINGLY DIRTY. The pictures were falling off the wall, the shower was leaking so that after a shower, the entire room was wet!! Absolutely NOT 4 STARS!!! No goodwill from the hotel... they said someone would be right there with silicone for the shower... NEVER AGAIN!! The restaurant apparently closes at 10 PM... unfortunately, it also closed at 9 PM!!

20/09/2025: "Four stars? More like four nightmares." €600 for three nights, and I'm seriously wondering what it's for. Even at check-in: dirty towels, hair in the shower, half-empty minibar – thanks for nothing. Changing rooms? No good. In the "new" room, pictures are falling off the wall, the shower turns the bathroom into a paddling pool, the air conditioning is dead, and the curtains are broken. Breakfast? A gas station croissant has more charm. Dirty cutlery, staff with a permanently annoyed look, and room service shows up at 8 a.m. as if it were their own room. Conclusion: This "4-star hotel" is an expensive joke. Every youth hostel here is pure luxury.

02/09/2025: We stopped by quickly for a stroll before lunchtime and found Poldo's tavern. Contrary to the reviews, we had a great time. Excellent Chianina burgers, with a choice of cheeses, sauces, and vegetables. The gentleman who served us was quick, friendly, and kind, and the place was clean. Thank you very much.

26/08/2025: I've been to this beach resort for lunch and dinner and have always had a great time. The food is good, especially fish, the staff is friendly, and the location is truly beautiful. I recommend going there for dinner because the atmosphere in the evening is very welcoming and relaxing.

18/08/2025: I'm not reviewing the bathroom because I only went here for dinner, which was excellent. Prices are a bit high, but they're in line with the quality of the food.

01/10/2025: I had lunch with my husband and on top of that the waiting times were very long, the food arrived all cold and a little inside the grill on top of the potatoes... we spent a fortune and we didn't even eat well... I will never go back again and I don't even recommend it!!!
