19/08/2025: When I made my reservation (as a former restaurateur, I don't go to a restaurant without booking in advance), I was a little hesitant when asked if I wanted to have lunch during the first or second sitting. I immediately pictured a somewhat chaotic place. We arrived and found parking in the designated area, which wasn't very large, I must say, but that's not their fault; it's already a good thing. They didn't give us much time to choose our dishes, since we were in the first sitting, but we arrived on time, so they seemed to be a bit thoughtful. For starters, we had a charcuterie board and a cheese wheel, both good and plentiful. The polenta vigezzina was superb, I must say; we left it aside because it was so plentiful. It could have been a main course, as far as our stomachs were concerned. The wine by the glass was decent, but we didn't have room for dessert. The price wasn't the cheapest, but it was quite reasonable. It's not a place where you can enjoy a good lunch in peace, given the crowd that was there, but the dishes were still good.
13/08/2025: Osteria del Mercante is a must-try in Santa Maria Maggiore. The food is exceptional, the staff is always very friendly and attentive, and the signature dish is tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms. Excellent value for money.

16/08/2025: I can't comment on the pizza since none of us tried it... as for the restaurant, the first courses were generally good, let's say average; the second courses were all pre-prepared and reheated on the spot, except for the fillet steak, which was cooked on a stone and therefore served still sizzling... the desserts didn't impress anyone... oh, and it's worth noting they don't serve ice cream... coffee, amaro, and limoncello are free on the house... a positive note. Price, considering it was August 15th, was average.

24/07/2025: È il ristorante di un hotel e spesso in questi casi non vi si trova bene. Stavolta invece tutto bene, sala ampia e bel panorama, buon cibo abbondante e per finire prezzi superonesti ( con 35 euro mangiate primo secondo e dessert). Davvero consigliato
11/07/2025: Ottima posizione sala bellissima con le vetrate Ottima buffet colazioni così tante torte fatte in casa li trovi solo in 5 stelle Ottimo servizio. Ottima cucina con piatti dell posto. direi meglio di cosi complimenti

07/07/2025: The pasta sauces are not bad, they are terrible and they charge extra money to sit in the restaurant and check the bill, they write extra items that you did not eat. In short, I definitely do not recommend it.
07/07/2025: As a gourmet I have never eaten worse than this. Pasta sauces are very bad. People who sit there have to pay extra. The staff was friendly, it was understood when the bill came. It should not be preferred.

31/10/2024: Scelta seguendo le recensioni scritte in precedenza da altri utenti, noi confermiamo la semplicità e la genuinità del posto, compresi i proprietari/gestori.
Una sola proposta e solo a pranzo: salumi misti con giardiniera, polenta con carne o con formaggio, eventualmente su richiesta assaggio del formaggio fatto da loro con la composta di mele cotogne, fetta di torta pan e lac e la fiacia, caffè e acqua, 27,00 euro a persona con amaro offerto e molto buono ed efficace.
23/09/2024: Il ristoro è immerso nel verde e c’è un piccolo maneggio, il ristorante in se non è molto bello però all’interno si respira aria famigliare e allegra, ottimi i salumi, “la bresaola è spaziale, “ polenta formaggi grigliata e così via tutto decisamente buono.
Per chi non guarda troppo l’etichetta ma adora il buon cibo lo consiglio.

03/09/2024: Ristorante con piatti molto semplici che si possono trovare in qualsiasi trattoria con prezzi meno cari.
Il prosciutto e melone veramente buono, la trota buona.
Servizio ottimo.
31/08/2024: Oggi a pranzo mi sono fermata con la mia famiglia a pranzare in visita per la sfilata degli spazza camini.
Semplicemente non ci tornerò MAI più, abbiamo pagato tanto per una quantità e qualità scarsa degli alimenti. Non avevano seggioloni per i miei bambini, ma ho cmq pagato 1.5euro di coperto a bambino nonostante gli ho dato da mangiare tenendomeli in braccio
Insomma un disastro.
