18/05/2025: Today, Sunday, May 18, we went to Caffè San Carlo with my partner and our son, who is less than two years old. Even though the outside area was half empty, there was a line to get in. Some people passed us, but fortunately a waitress kindly let us sit. Unfortunately, once we were seated, the wait was very long. We saw several impatient customers get up and leave without even ordering. We too, after noticing that other tables that arrived later were being served before us, decided to do the same. I understand that Sunday can be a busy day, but I wonder how it is possible that a historic place in the center cannot even manage half of the available tables. With a small child, you expect a minimum of attention, not so much for a privilege, but to avoid uncomfortable situations for everyone — including the staff. But at least following the order of arrival should be the minimum. A real shame, because the location deserves a much higher level of service.

05/01/2025: Siamo andati ieri sera per un compleanno una ventina.locale pieno.potevamo scegliere il giro pizza o qualche piatto alla carta.chiedo a mio genero se lui era gia' stato in questo locale è mi dice che la pizza è orribile.allora guardo per altri tavoli è infatti l' aspetto era terrificante è il 90% non la mangiava.allora io decido per una tagliata,altri la pizza singola,altri il giro pizza.a me arriva una bistecca ai ferri sottile è tagliata con due patatine.cmq ci passo sopra.mia madre ordina una pizza bianca con mozzarella di bufala....gli arriva una focaccia bianca bruciata è fredda con una mozzarella sopra.anche chi a preso la pizza nessuno la mangiata era veramente orribile.mi reco dal proprietario con la " pizza" di mia madre è gli dico chiedo se per lui questa era una pizza è gli chiedo se questi pizzaioli li aveva appena pescati in qualche fiume.lui guarda la "pizza" è mi dice ha ragione è orribile..è la toglie dal conto....esperienza orribile mai più.alla fine nessuno a mangiato niente si dovrebbero solo vergnare

17/10/2024: Per alcuni piatti direi una trattoria nella media, per altri il livello si alza (ad esempio con uno dei classici in carta, le polpette al sugo). aiutano a fare il salto di livello e a invitare a tornare la simpatia nel servizio, la scelta di vini non scontati e il fatto che si trovi in un quartiere con scelta mediocre (certo a pochi metri c’è il miglior ristorante di Torino a mio avviso, il condividere! Ma si inizia a giocare in un altro campionato…) Il tutto ha un costo, non immaginate il conto da trattoria, potrebbe costare qualcosa in meno per restare un po’ di più nel mio cuore.

08/10/2024: Attention!! Don't be fooled!! If you are looking for a bistro with refined cuisine or a simple but genuine "piola", for a special evening or to eat well, in short a place where the strong points are the welcoming environment (deceived by the name...) the good quality of the dishes (which unfortunately is praised here, but does not correspond) a quality-price ratio adequate to the experience lived and, last but not least, a manager attentive and truly interested in you and how you will be in his restaurant, DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE!!! 1. The food is mediocre. For some dishes very disappointing and with a stomach ache that arrived shortly after, perhaps even stale. 2. There is no wine list with names, origins and prices, but you will be forced to choose the wine by looking at a shelf where the cheapest bottle costs 25 euros (the most expensive, let's forget it), but whose real value is perhaps around 7 euros. You feel like you are being fooled. What a disappointment, a wine sold as "natural" (they say, but on the bottle, there was nothing written about it) while the first note you get from the glass once the wine is poured, even left to decant, is alcohol! Alcohol that rises strongly up the nostrils to the head, announcing the migraine of the next day (which promptly arrived). The "Oste" in front of our polite and disappointed complaint (25 euros!), even when questioned, shrugged saying that the risk of opening the bottle was only ours. We almost wanted to fall back and also take a craft beer, but we were told that they only had Menabrea ... (Industrial and probably set at 10 euros? Let's forget it) 3. Full disappointment from the food (little culinary skill and in any case inadequate quality) and SENSELESS prices, from a restaurant in the Precollina, without being one. Appetizer: 2 slices of eggplant - also undercooked - with an unspecified cheese inside, a spoonful of tomato sauce and a crumbled breadstick (I don't know) called Parmigianina, is set at a whopping 15 euros per portion, really risky I'd say! Not to mention the "crostone": two slices of stale bread, defined as "mountain" bread (ah, if it's from the mountains, then...), presented with two sautéed courgettes (bitter) on top, at a whopping 10 euros!! We don't remember the other appetizers, they were so memorable. The first courses then... from 16 to 20 euros, without praise. Perhaps the pasta was the most acceptable thing, it seemed fresh, but ruined by mediocre sauces. For example, in one dish there was supposed to be the toma defined by Melle (which we know very well) too bad that the sauce presented was strangely liquid (was it Milk? Cream? What?) and with the same courgettes placed on the crouton: 16 euros..... NB the quantity found in the dish is inversely proportional to the price and taste... The more it costs, the less they put, the less appetizing or appreciated it is, the more there is. Mise en place non-existent....given the prices, at least a tablecloth, put it! The mountain bread is ok, but at least it must be fresh and not dry! Spending 140 euros, for 4 side dishes disguised as appetizers and 4 first courses, is ABSURD for the poor quality offered. If you want to ride the wave of the starred restaurant located further along the same street, trust me, it is not enough to raise the prices.....it is not even enough to ensure "friendly" reviews. Reality emerges by itself. Always. But the person who served us and made us pay, clearly told us with the same scornful smile of mockery, shown from beginning to end, that he does not care about what the customer says or the reviews .... "We are very expensive" (cit.) We did not take you by the neck to come in here" (cit) To the question: "I think it is important for you to receive feedback from customers. Do you work for people, after all?" Answer: "No, I do not work for people. I do this work for myself!" Need more to say!?! Affiliating with Slow Food and flaunting renowned presidia, unfortunately does not mean a desire for quality, much less for fair, respected and well-prepared food.... nor for sympathy and love for people and catering. To forget.

14/04/2025: Sono capitata per caso ieri a pranzo perché mi trovavo nelle vicinanze e cercavo un posto dove poter mangiare. Locale molto accogliente e carino, personale molto gentile, cibo di qualità. Ho apprezzato il fatto che hanno portato subito il piatto per il mio bimbo di 4 anni, noi abbiano atteso un po' ma c'era molta gente e non avevamo nemmeno prenotato. Mio figlio si è divertito molto nella sala con i giochi e col truccabimbi, le animatrici sono state molto carine e disponibili.

21/04/2025: Very pleasant and quiet on a quiet square. Quality dishes I loved Il Pin which are ravioli with octopus and bottarga.

20/04/2025: In the center of Turin we decided to have lunch in the outdoor area of ​​the restaurant. The waiter welcomed us with kindness and patience. The dishes were not very generous in portions but not bad in taste! Recommended for those who are not too hungry but like a bit of style!

02/04/2025: We came here to try bicerin. Bicerin is a hot chocolate-like drink in Türkiye. We paid 6 euros for coffee with cream on top. I didn't like it much but my friends did. Try it and see for yourself.

07/04/2025: Dico “purtroppo” perché invece l’hotel di cui fa parte è favoloso, e ci si aspettava quindi un ristorante all’altezza. Bellissima la location, come una residenza dei Savoia a tutti gli effetti. Ma i piatti badano solo all’apparenza, di fondo c’è poco o nulla. Antipasti mediocri, agnolotti completamente insapori. Zero carattere, zero personalità, pagati tra l’altro a caro prezzo. Non ci siamo.
