15/01/2025: I have known this refuge for years: excellent traditional dishes from Valchiavenna, always welcoming and smiling people, wonderful views, many great activities for children, evening openings to dine and admire the stars. A splendid place to take a break in the middle of a summer walk or a day of skiing. A place where you will always feel welcomed and at home.
11/01/2025: Self service is fast and really delicious, something you often don't expect from a self service. We also bought a wine, no small selection.
Friendly and helpful staff, only one flaw: the slops need to be reviewed.
Tip: it would be nice to be able to place warmers on the tables intended for meals

Più che buono anche il cibo senza glutine.
Lo straconsiglio!

17/01/2025: Very welcoming hotel and restaurant in the center of Madesimo, a few steps from the ski slopes. Excellent Alpine dishes prepared with care. You will find both traditional specialties from Valchiavenna and dishes from other mountain areas.
You will be welcomed by hospitable people in a very characteristic environment, in perfect Alpine style.
28/12/2024: In passing they advise us to go through this exercise to taste the best BOMBARDINO in Madesimo.... I recommend it

07/01/2025: Enchanting place that smells of a truly splendid restored past. Martino the manager is very kind and very helpful! Everything you need even for a 1 year old. Truly a great stay we will definitely be back!
26/09/2024: Martedi 25-9-2024 visto tanti posti chiusi ci si ferma ad Isola a pranzo. Cera il meno di lavoro ( che piu o meno era quello che abbiamo preso noi a parte dei pizzocheri col cucchiaio ( fatti a macchina e non artigianali)
Ebbene : Pane e coperto 4 euro, vino della casa 1/2 litro 6 euro ,minerale 2,50 , 2 primi 24 euro , 2 secondi SCARSI uno costine e l'altro salsiccette , 2 caffe 3 euro totale = 69,50 euro !!!!!!!!! Se prendavavamo il menu di lavoro erano 15 euro a testa........ probabilmente sono abituati a spennare i polli.....

29/12/2024: Above expectations... very intimate and well-kept environment, it feels like being alone. Chosen à la carte menu... 4 courses with typical flavors of Valtellina interspersed with a series of well-prepared, appetizing and refined tastings, well plated. The dinner lasted about 2 hours, well interspersed between the tasting courses. Impeccable service. Nothing left to chance.

06/01/2025: If you are looking for a place to enjoy really good food, this restaurant is the right place. The dishes are delicious and prepared with fresh and genuine ingredients. I highly recommend trying their polenta! Special attention to the desserts, all homemade, which are a real delight.
The place is welcoming, well looked after and conveys a mountain atmosphere. The staff is approachable, always ready to recommend the best dishes.
Prices are surprisingly low considering the quality of the food and service. An excellent choice for those looking for an authentic and tasty experience!

29/09/2024: Easily accessible refuge. Despite the cold day, the dining room was not heated at all. Too bad, even the food was lukewarm (polenta with tomino and speck and buckwheat ravioli with Bitto). The portion of the first course was a little small.
15/09/2024: Unfortunately, and I'm really sorry, beyond a pleasant welcome, we ate really badly and at an excessive cost, compared to other refuges, even though we understood the difficulty of supplies: pizzoccheri with little cheese and vegetables, not good reheated tagliatelle
I'm really sorry... because, given the context, I don't understand how you can't find excellent raw materials nearby... I've seen cows... and good, cheap butter and cheese I think...

18/08/2024: Chiedo una semplice insalata verde Con carote. Niente di più. Torna un cameriere giovane e inesperto r mi dice che hanno finito insalata e verdure...non ho potuto mangiare nulla altro perché ho delle pesanti intolleranze...non mi.hanno proposto nulla di alternativo. Peccato che mentre mio marito mangiava la sua piadina (pessima, poco scaldata, formaggio all interno non sciolto) ho visto passare due belle marmitte di insalata mista....la prima volta ghe mi succede che un ristoratore non mi voglia dare da mangiare. Oltre tutto vado a pagare e vedo l angolo delle preparazioni...altro che igiene...indecente..il caffè viene fatto alla macchina prendendo il caffè già macinato xon un bicchiere dal sacchetto del caffè lavazza tipo del supermercato.....bah...non mi capacito come posti del genere possano essere ancora aperti....

02/08/2024: È la prima volta in vita mia che incontro del personale così maleducato e sprezzante verso il cliente. Abbiamo chiesto di poter vedere il menù per scegliere un vino. Scocciatissimo il cameriere me l ha letteralmente lanciato sul tavolo. Poi volevamo spostarci sulla terrazza perché il nostro tavolo era rimasto all' ombra. C'erano tantissimi posti liberi al sole, ma il titolare ha detto "qui comando io,...". Dico: sì certo per carità ma possiamo metterci al sole? E da lì apriti o cielo! Borbottava con i colleghi, finché ci ha letteralmente scacciati dicendo che da lì a mezz'ora sarebbe arrivato qlc che aveva prenotato il tavolo (non credo ci voglia mezz'ora per finire di bere un' aranciata. Poi ripeto, c' erano tanti tavoli liberi). Fatto sta che ci hanno trattato talmente male che alla fine gli abbiamo detto che non sono proprio in grado di svolgere il loro lavoro. Il titolare inviperito più che mai ci ha seguiti ancora fuori per strada, dandoci titoli di ogni tipo.
12/07/2024: Aperitivo TOP! Di passaggio a Madesimo, io e mio marito abbiamo scoperto questa enoteca/vinoteca “per caso”…dovessimo tornare in zona ci torneremo sicuramente!

08/02/2025: Stavo cenando qui e in pratica, da celiaco, chiedo cosa posso mangiare.
Mi rispondono adeguatamente e noto che è presente una ristrettissima (tipo quattro piatti) scelta per chi intollerante o allergico al glutine.
Tra le poche scelte, tutte erano troppo costose, esempio più di 25 euro per un piatto nemmeno di grosse dimensioni.
Chiedo l' aumento di una ampia scelta di piatti e ad un prezzo più adeguato
