02/10/2025: After a two-hour climb, you either pass it and don't know what you're missing, or you stop and then... Then you just have to admire the landscape and head back down. Pizzoccheri, braised beef, porcini mushroom stew, and boiled meat with polenta. Cheeses, sweets, and bitters. What more can I say? It's a must-try.

21/09/2025: I came here to eat with a group of friends. The food was delicious, varied, and plentiful. The service was excellent and the prices were very fair. Highly recommended.

23/09/2025: Our experience with this restaurant was limited to two phone calls. The initial approach was determined by the sign on the pedestrian and bike path, which encourages you to call before boarding. At 11:15, we called to reserve a table for three adults and two children. Before we could finish our request, the person on the phone told us it was "too early" to eat. When we asked about the possibility of a table on the terrace, given the presence of three dogs, we were brusquely told that the terrace is no longer there... the photos say otherwise... and that dogs are not allowed inside, but must be left leashed outside. We called back a few minutes later to cancel the reservation, explaining that we would never leave our dogs leashed outside. The response was a complaint about the "last-minute" cancellation on a Saturday. When we pointed out that we had called only five minutes earlier, the conversation ended abruptly. Based on this experience, we feel it's important to note that the restaurant is absolutely not "pet friendly" and that the customer service, at least when booking by phone, is unprofessional. I used to go there as a child with my dad and mom... everyone was friendly back then, and there was a magnificent terrace with a beautiful view. But... things change.

21/09/2025: Polenta without cheese, with porcini mushrooms and pork shank. Excellent dish. It's a shame there aren't any tables on the terrace given the beautiful view (also because inside, when the place is full, it's impossible to have a conversation).

15/09/2025: A comfortable and welcoming family-run retreat. Excellent traditional local cuisine, especially the delicious homemade desserts. The view of the Biandino and Valvarrone valleys is priceless.

28/08/2025: We stayed at the refuge the night between August 24 and August 25, and had a great time! The staff was friendly, calm, welcoming, and always available to answer guests' questions. The refuge, if you start from Alpe Paglio, is located behind a small ridge (so it's not visible until the last stretch of the trail). The rooms are very comfortable, with comfortable beds (despite being bunk beds), and clean bathrooms. I believe the dinner service changes daily and includes a first course, a second course, a dessert, and coffee. In my case, as a vegetarian, I chose tagliatelle with cream and zucchini, polenta accompanied by local cheeses, and a panna cotta with berries. Everything was excellent and the portions generous. Breakfast was perhaps a little sparse (yogurt, cereal, toast) and lacked savory options, but since it's self-service, you can easily go back for a second go. I highly recommend it; the price for half board, considering the quality of the service, is very reasonable! We felt in a very familiar and peaceful environment☺️
