11/01/2026: Good thin pizzas, very digestible

07/01/2026: We're regulars, but after this one, I think we'll look for another place to eat fish. The waiter who took our order immediately complained that "four different starters in the kitchen will kill me," insistently advising us to also order a focaccia to pass the time. The starters arrived after over an hour, and two of them were wrong. After pointing this out to the same waiter above, we were told that we had ordered the wrong dish, that these two dishes were better than what we wanted, and that they would then offer a liqueur for the inconvenience. There was no sign of taking the wrong dishes back to the kitchen. What if one of the two people with the wrong dish was allergic to some ingredient and chose that as well? I don't know if there were any problems in the kitchen, but in any case, it's something beyond our experience as customers, and it's unacceptable to spend almost three hours in a restaurant and be treated like this. We weren't offered the liqueur, and that's really the least of it. We wouldn't have wanted anything offered, but rather a little kindness from the waiters. I'm sorry, but never again. The service was truly terrible and ruined the experience.

16/09/2025: We decided to stop for an aperitivo, finding the staff very friendly and welcoming, and the spritz delicious, with a great view of the Ariston Theater. The snacks they brought were also very good. Highly recommended!

13/09/2025: The sign clearly states "Aperol Spritz Campari Spritz with platter! €5" without specifying that this is valid ONLY for the evening. The option is changed at will depending on the mood of the moment, since the previous one was still valid. You want to add something, and including the platter is fine, but the concept is flawed. Too bad...

24/11/2025: I've been frequenting this place for a few years because I've always found the food and service to be excellent. Almost every product is expertly crafted by Salvatore, the father, while his daughters, who are very kind and professional, handle customer service.

04/02/2026: After much deliberation, due to the numerous bad reviews, I finally gave this place the benefit of the doubt. Indeed, the much-discussed old man is sitting proudly at the entrance, watching television. And yes, he does throw the cutlery on the table. No offense intended; he's seen it all before, and this is just his way of doing things. Inside, someone is eating just a plate of fries, another still has his coat and hat on, and yet another's dog is lying on the couch. If this isn't your style, then stay away. I, for one, feel right at home. This is an Italian restaurant as it should be. Genuine, pure, original, no frills, no fancy stuff. A waiter arrives after me, half an hour late. Another half hour later, another waiter. Half an hour later, a new person gives me a sweet snack. Meanwhile, the old man has refilled my wine. The staff are kind, friendly, and helpful. The food is delicious, fresh, simple, and affordable. The kitchen is working at top speed. This is quality, honest food, and a cozy atmosphere with real Italians. Appreciate these kinds of places; they're a dying breed. Highly recommended by Hollandstadt.

05/01/2026: Unlike the first time we stayed, I have to give a negative review. The room was large with a balcony, but it was cold, despite the staff's intervention to resolve the issue by raising the temperature of the split air conditioning. The bathroom was cold, making it difficult to shower; the window frame was outdated and let the cold in.

04/01/2026: I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Morandi in Sanremo while visiting the city as a contestant for the Sanremo Senior 2025 event in late October. I stayed for four nights and felt comfortable and well looked after from the moment I arrived. The hotel offered everything I needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. I especially enjoyed the morning breakfast, which featured a great variety of foods and beverages and was a perfect start to each day. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and I truly appreciated the pleasant conversations with all the staff, who were friendly, attentive and made me feel at home throughout my stay. Being in such a beautiful city made the experience even more special, and Hotel Morandi was a wonderful place to return to after busy days connected to the event. My time in Sanremo was truly memorable, and the comfort and hospitality of the hotel played a big part in that. I would happily stay here again and sincerely hope to return in the future.
