10/02/2026: I had the pleasure of visiting Carmine Argenio's Panificio Pizzeria Fornetteria, located on Via Calvanese in Foggia, and I would like to express my sincerest and most heartfelt appreciation.
During my recent visit, I purchased a representative selection of their offerings, including pan pizza, fried panzerotto, focaccia slices, various types of bread, and some classic baked desserts. Each item was exceptional. The bread, in particular, had a distinctive organoleptic profile, with a crispy and fragrant crust, a perfectly moist and airy crumb, a ripe wheat aftertaste, and natural leavening, all indicative of the use of select flours, live sourdough, and a long maturation process. The aromatic notes—fermentative, toasted, and slightly nutty—were all clearly perceptible, an unmistakable sign of high-quality raw materials and a controlled production process respectful of tradition.
The aspect that struck me most and deserves specific mention is the adherence to food safety protocols. The establishment is clean and tidy, with surfaces and workspaces appearing clean according to HACCP procedures.
The staff was courteous, knowledgeable, professional, and extremely helpful. They provided precise answers, knowledgeable advice, and a respectful, smiling attitude.
For all these reasons, I will certainly return and unreservedly recommend Fornetteria di Carmine Argenio to anyone seeking authentic baked goods of reasonable quality, made in full compliance with the strictest food safety standards.

15/07/2026: I read that many people say there's no menu; if you ask, they'll bring it to your table. The staff has changed recently, and not all of them are adequate. On Saturday, we had a waiter who only served acquaintances quickly, even if they arrived later. Otherwise, I find the staff to be friendly and polite.

We did cheese, eggplant and amatricina- it had thin sliced pancetta on it.
All good.

13/06/2026: I've been going to Paolillo Pizzeria for many years and have always found the pizza to be generally good. Unfortunately, tonight's experience left me disappointed. Even though I had a reservation, upon arrival I was informed that I would have to vacate my table within 30 minutes; I accepted the request without hesitation. When ordering, I asked for half a kilo of marinara and a few pieces of mozzarella, but was told that mozzarella wasn't available, for which I couldn't understand the reason.
I later spoke with the owner, who was willing to find a solution and prepare a Margherita. However, by that point, my partner and I had already gotten up to leave.
It's a shame, because my family, friends, and I have always enjoyed going to this pizzeria. I still enjoy the pizza, but tonight the service and handling of the situation didn't live up to the expectations I'd developed over the years.
We won't be returning.

The best marinara!!
Now the management has been taken over by young people who have kept the same pizza and format.
With them, the pizzeria has taken a whole new gear!
Highly recommended!

08/06/2026: We stopped for dinner on our way to Civitavecchia for our ferry crossing. We found a wide variety of pizzas, all delicious and with a truly flavorful, light, and digestible dough, without any nighttime heaviness. They were perfectly cooked and crispy, just like good Roman pizza. What struck us most was the kindness of the staff, who welcomed us with a very friendly attitude, making us feel at ease and quickly setting up a clean table for us under the outdoor gazebo to enjoy our pizzas. A must-see when passing through Civitavecchia.

27/07/2026: We visited with my family, and we had an amazing experience! I ordered the shrimp and pistachio pasta, and it was absolutely delicious—something I’d never tasted before. My mother had the carbonara, and she loved it. The atmosphere was fantastic, the music was great, and the service was warm, friendly, and attentive. To top it all off, they gave us a 10% discount, and the owner treated us to complimentary shots of limoncello. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic Italian dining experience with outstanding food, a wonderful atmosphere, and exceptional hospitality!
18/07/2026: The food took 50 minutes to arrive while we saw people who arrived more than fifteen minutes after us getting their food. The waiters didn't tell us anything. When I asked after 40 minutes what about the food, they said it was coming now and to take another fifteen minutes. The pizza came with a simple sauce from the supermarket and wasn't tasty. We ordered a steak whose sauce was just butter and the steak itself tasted like a steak a 5-year-old had made, and pasta with mushrooms that came with a sauce of water and where was the oil? And after all that, we started to get annoyed about the times it took them, they started to be nice. It's really not recommended. It's better to eat at the supermarket.

09/05/2026: A truly terrible experience and completely unacceptable behavior from a brunette, bob-haired sales assistant.
We had a cart with over €80 in shopping, and even though it was obvious we were carrying a large amount of items, we were forced to go to the express checkout. This was unprofessional, rude, and completely lacking in customer care. Fortunately, one of her colleagues was completely different: kind, polite, and helpful. He helped us immediately and, seeing the full cart, was speechless himself, so much so that he remarked to his colleague, "But they have a full cart." This episode demonstrates a complete lack of common sense and courtesy on the part of the sales assistant, who handled the situation superficially and arrogantly. A customer who spends over €80 deserves respect and assistance, not to be treated with annoyance and sent away without any consideration.
I hope management takes action and reminds the staff how important good manners, professionalism, and respect are for those who choose to shop in the store.

10/06/2026: Ideal for an excellent, light, wood-fired Roman pizza. The atmosphere has remained true to the 1980s, with a simple, no-frills feel; it could probably use some updating. Given the high traffic, especially on weekends, advance reservations are highly recommended. I would suggest adding an updated online menu: these days, all pizzerias display prices, pizza types, and allergens. I know you've been open for 40 years, and there's a reason for that, but I think constructive criticism should always be accepted.
