15/09/2025: Excellent beach resort with a restaurant. Well-spaced umbrellas, clean restrooms, and a working shower. The food was excellent; everything we tried was delicious, and the freshness of the ingredients was evident. The service was friendly and attentive. You immediately felt at home. It's a shame we couldn't return the next day!

03/11/2025: A lovely pizzeria in Santa Maria di Castellabate. The pizzas are amazing... typically Neapolitan and simply delicious, topped with fresh ingredients. They even serve excellent Bavarian beer, which is a huge plus for me, as I love to enjoy a good German beer with a great pizza. The mousse tart was also very good, as were the coffee and the amaro (a top-notch Jefferson amaro from Calabria). The coffee was complimentary, thank you so much! 😊 I will definitely be back.

23/08/2025: We had the pleasure of dining at Osteria Hortus in Castellabate. Owner/Chef Costabile Guariglia proved to be not only a hospitable person but a true artist in every sense (he teaches art in Rome). His artistic experience shines through not only in the restaurant, but especially in his cuisine. His dishes are never banal, but creative yet substantial, using only the finest ingredients and what the market offers at the time. It was a wonderful discovery and an excellent experience...from every point of view...we hope to be able to repeat it in the future. Thank you 👏

pasta e pizza da nello

16/11/2025: WHAT a discovery!! Just off the main pedestrian street in the town centre, from outside the place looks very small whereas they have a large side area so plenty of room.
We went for lunch on a Sunday and we will visit again for sure!. Nello himself does the greetings (he is from Naples so the food is also Naples based) and is a very charming host, then a very happy lady came and took our order. We ordered food and drink and despite the number of customers the food arrived quite quickly. We both chose the "Genovese" pasta which is pasta in a special meat sauce and was totally delicious, plus a side plate of broccoli.
Together with a carafe of the house red wine (which was also good) we spent a princely 23 Euro per head, EXCELLENT value for money for sure.
09/11/2025: We found ourselves in the alleys of Castellabate by chance and noticed this restaurant... the lady's welcome makes you feel right at home, and Mr. Nello's sweetness is the best. We ordered stuffed zucchini flowers and stuffed anchovies, oh so delicious. Spaghetti with clams and pasta and seafood beans were incredibly delicious, with fresh, quality ingredients; we had to mop up the sauce with the bread. I truly recommend it; everything was delicious.

29/09/2025: Absolutely amazing dinner. The host, chefs and owners are absolutely amazing. They treated us like family. When we come back to Italy from New York again. We will definitely be back. 10/09/2025: We had the steak (medium-rare), mixed salad, and French fries.
The steak was fantastic. Unfortunately, there was no salt or pepper on the table to season the meat or salad.
Highly recommended; we'll be back.

23/08/2025: Had dinner with friends in this truly beautiful location, with good service from the wait staff. We chose the tasting menu, which is a lovely one and leaves a lasting impression. I'm certainly no master chef, but I found the quality-price ratio a bit unbalanced. I'll keep this in mind, thanks anyway.

02/11/2025: I had lunch here recently: the location is truly beautiful and the atmosphere pleasant, perfect for a quiet break. However, the prices seemed a bit high compared to expectations.
*The biggest flaw concerns the menu:
—the one available online is completely different from the one actually served at the table.
—The website refers to the takeout menu, while the lunch menu for a reserved table is different, with different dishes and prices. A little more clarity on this point would be really helpful.
Overall, a decent experience, but with room for improvement, especially in communication and value for money.
02/11/2025: The quality of the products served is excellent, as is the care taken in combining diametrically opposed cuisines without overtly emphasizing the differences. One can see a culinary expertise born of study and, above all, passion for one's work.

18/10/2025: The location is beautiful (sea view, in a shaded garden) and the food was delicious. The prices are moderately high, but you can taste the quality and spend it happily.
We didn't have any problems with waiting (as I read in other reviews), but it must be said that we ate very late, in a nearly empty restaurant. The staff was very friendly, and the overall experience was truly enjoyable. It's a shame to read so many negative reviews because it's a lovely place, with authentic cuisine (fresh and beautifully cooked fish, including fried fish that was nice and dry). You pay for the view (and the fame of Castellabate).
18/10/2025: Excellent lunch experience. Lovely sea view, good food, and decent portions. Friendly service staff. Recommended.

12/08/2025: Sono stato a cena con altre tre persone in questo locale dall'ambiente curato e dall'ottima cucina. Tutto procedeva bene, finché non si è verificato un episodio che, a mio avviso, è stato
gestito male.
Ordiniamo una bottiglia di vino. Ce ne versano una quantità minima a testa, e dopo dieci minuti la cameriera torna scusandosi: aveva servito il vino sbagliato. Porta via la bottiglia e ci chiede se vogliamo che ritiri anche i calici. Noi, pensando che comunque fosse un errore loro, li abbiamo tenuti.
Al momento del conto, scopro che ci sono stati addebitati 8€ a testa (32€ in totale) per quel vino sbagliato. Faccio notare la cosa alla titolare che prova a giustificarsi e alla fine toglie solo una parte dell'importo, 16€ in tutto.
Peccato, perché da un locale che si propone come di fascia alta mi sarei aspettato un gesto di cortesia, non un addebito per un errore loro, e per di più per una quantità che non si avvicinava nemmeno a un vero calice. Non è questione di soldi, ma di stile e professionalità: qualità che, in questo frangente, sono mancate.

26/08/2025: We ate at this family-run restaurant and were made to feel at home. The place is clean, welcoming, and the prices are average for the season. The food is divine. Thanks to Raffaele, who entertained us with his jokes, and to the very sweet Rosaria, who welcomed us with open arms. I highly recommend it.
