24/08/2024: Every year I spend at least 1 week at Casal Velino. Last year I went to eat grilled meat at this place. It didn't satisfy me so I looked for something else but it seems that there are no restaurants that cook grilled meat. So I went to the place this morning and booked a specific table, given the experience of the previous year. I arrive 5 minutes early and they leave me at the entrance without asking me anything. After 15 minutes I approach a boy who shows me a colleague to accompany me to the table I had booked. Well, with rudeness and arrogance the waitress tells me that she had decided to give my table to another person and if I wanted to stay what she had decided was the table to take otherwise I could go. In fact, I left. The owner should select the employees better since there aren't that many customers who can afford to spend 90-100 euros for an average grilled meat. In the end, like others, we are there on holiday and we can also have the barbecue at home where we have a wide choice. Furthermore, sooner or later these negative attitudes will make people nervous and they won't come again. However, this place is STRONGLY not recommended

18/07/2024: We were there twice, the value for money was very good, the environment of the place was very poorly maintained, it still reflected the good times gone by, I'm sorry to say, it was very, very sad as a location. What really bothered me was the suffocating presence of the owner, talking about the dishes and the fish, the second time we went he said: if you have to order I recommend not too many frills and too many MIXED dishes because the chef isn't there. it is and I have to cook, I didn't get up and leave because I was with people, but that's not how it's done, if you don't have the staff and it's your fault, not mine...... The waiters were VERY present to ask every 2 minutes if everything was ok, (this is not a criticism, this is to say that sometimes people want to be a little calm) In the end, however, I repeat the very very tasty dishes with fresh products, and above all the very honest price

16/07/2024: Cozy place, very good pizza, it's a shame that the rudeness and total lack of humility of the owner towards customers and employees above all, make this place a real "nightmare kitchen!" 😱 the very polite and welcoming waitress is left to herself and divides her time between tables (indoor and outdoor), kitchen, bar and whatever else there is to do...obviously with poor results because she is the only one, at the mercy of the numerous "reprimands" from the owner... the very good pizza chef, a little inattentive probably because he was not stimulated and valued as he should. The place should "breathe" and the solution could be to change the manager!
