07/04/2024: Facing the port, offering a magnificent view of the Gulf of Naples, this restaurant offers quality fish and seafood. The pastry is excellent. This establishment also offers an ice cream parlor: lemon snacks (1kg each) stuffed with sweets and sorbets. The wine offered is of good quality. But above all this establishment welcomes you as a family: Dad; Mom, son and daughter Giordana. The whole family is warm and professional, as are all the staff. You eat well there but you are in Capri the island of the wealthy, so the prices are adapted to well-stocked wallets.

23/10/2023: For this location prices are ok, on the menu you see the price and you order than you complain about the price that is crazy. If you can't afford than you go somewhere else. Desserts and coffees were really nice. Service was fast and friendly.
22/10/2023: My girl was sick and wanted to go to the toilet and the waiter very rudely refused her entry. I would have paid for any drink to be a customer and be able to use the toilet but their attitude was disgusting, I hope they never have customers.

14/03/2024: Prices are so expensive, staff at first was polite but then they even dont ask you if everything was fine because they know that they have the worst pizza on earth. They were all frozen so our 7 pizzas look all the same. Its a trap!! Waiter will tell you a story about free limoncello and no service adds and also to not go to eat at near restaurant, while talking that so loudly so the waither at near restaurant can hear it. Bad magic trick, never again.

09/10/2023: Terrificante!!! abbiamo speso 36 euro per un cappuccino che è arrivato pure freddo,un caffè di pessima qualità, 3 paste di bassa qualità e una brioches .
Secondo me dovrebbero vergognarsi. Almeno alzate il livello se volete chiedere questi prezzi. Forse giusto gli arabi e gli americani possono andarci che tanto gli si puo rifilare quello che si vuole...forse
09/10/2023: wir waren mit 5 Bekannten noch kurz - vor der Abfahrt zurück nach Sorrent -auf einen Limoncello-Spritz in diesem Lokal. Leider entpuppte sich - wiederum wegen fehlender Preislisten - das Getränk als völlig überteuert heraus. 18,00€ für etwas Zitronenlikör mit etwas Prosecco und viel Eis ist einfach ein Wucherpreis und unverschämt. Aber du bist ja als Gast nur einmalig da und kommst nicht wieder.
Dies sollte eine Warnung für weitere Gäste auf Capri sein.

08/03/2024: I saw the reviews before dining here, but I was hoping they were an exaggeration. If anything, they were TOO NICE. It’s a beautiful setting and there aren’t really any other food options around, so they take advantage of tourists. All of the meals were slightly overpriced, but they said their happy hour special of the day was the shrimp risotto so I assumed it would be in a similar price range as their other entrees. Yet when I received the bill, my dish was almost 60 euros! While the other menu items were around €20. It felt like such a scam and they target Americans, pretending to not understand English when you ask them questions about item prices. On top of that, the food was disgusting. My dish was inedible (and I’ll eat anything.) It tasted old and flavorless, the shrimps eyes were intact and staring at me. They also added a cover charge just for sitting down at one of their tables (we were the only customers), and there was no to-go option. I understand in Italy a cover charge is a typical procedure, but €15 euros for a place with no customers and gross food is obscene. They also charged us €10 euros for dirty tap water and another €10 for hard breadsticks we didn’t order. We tried to tell them we didn’t want them and we weren’t going to eat them, but they charged us anyway to make an extra buck. Anyways, please save yourselves the trouble and the money. Listen to the other reviews!
05/01/2024: Had a very bad experience at this restaurant.
After we were pressed for time due to the slow service (waited 15 minutes for the menu), we indicated that we only wanted something to drink.
The waiter indicated that we had to move to the bar, because they wanted to keep the table free for guests who also wanted to eat something.
More than three quarters of the terrace was empty and we indicated that we would be gone within 10 minutes.
We still had to move.
We said thank you kindly and got up and walked away.

14/10/2023: Come da titolo.
Locale visitato diverse volte negli anni e sempre con un gradimento molto buono.
Ora , a locale rinnovato, ( nulla di che, solo una pitturata di bianco alle pareti e pavimenti , un poco di nuovi suppellettili e nuove cannette di bamboo qui e là ) il vecchio format viene sostituito dal nuovo standard fighetto/cool con personale junior e musica in stile Nikki beach.
Per l’amor del cielo non sono contrario a nulla di quanto sopra ma la vecchia accoglienza è sparita ed ora il servizio è algido e poco interessato …
Che peccato! Forse la nuova gestione ha pensato di portare il modello nord americano ( soprattutto di prezzo ) in stile Malibu o Miami beach nel golfo di Napoli.
Il risultato è davvero mal riuscito in quanto viene snaturata uno dei migliori caratteri distintivi del luogo , ovvero l’ospitalità ed il calore caprese.
I prezzi altresì sono decollati ( direi pure raddoppiati) antipasti , primi e secondi vengono proposti ad una media per piatto intorno ai 45/50 euro + le pietanze quotate a peso ( pesce e crostacei intorno ai 200 al kg )
La questione non è il prezzo in sé , ma la tipologia di piatti che sono i classici della tradizione ( pietanze normalissime anche se la materia prima è di buona qualità) comunque sia la preparazione sia il servizio non risultano adeguati al prezzo ( anche paragonando la location e la cucina a ristoranti altrettanto di grido ed in medesime posizioni , vedi Fontellina in primis ed altri )
Boccio quindi completamente il locale , aha dimenticavo … purtroppo come spesso accade a Capri , non emettono automaticamente, come impone la Legge , lo scontrino fiscale. Lo devi chiedere … e fanno quasi gli scocciati.
Beh davvero una mossa da furbetti visto il costo medio di un pasto è almeno 100 euro a testa (oltre il bere) e la terrazza era al completo.
NON CONSIGLIO.
29/08/2023: We had a perfect lunch at Da Gioia. The mixed starters (seafood) for two were delicious and the sea view is great. The staff is really nice and the sommelier gave us very good advice on local wines.

06/08/2023: Atmosfera bella e conviviale. Il servizio eccellente, unisce cortesia, simpatia e professionalità. La qualità del cibo e dei vini è notevole. La terrazza sul mare è davvero una suggestione speciale. Siamo stati benissimo.

10/10/2023: I did enjoy my ham and cheese toastie here but I thought the price of the cappuccino was very high. 8.50. The service was good though and the ambiance was nice here.
09/10/2023: we all had lunch here during a day trip to Capri.Prices are reasonable for this tourist hotspot.Service was friendly and efficient and the food very fresh.And if you need the toilet upstairs we’re two very clean unisex toilets.So very happy with our choice
