02/12/2025: Highly recommended! At Restaurant Pizzeria Prima o Poi, all the fish dishes were not only freshly prepared but also made with top-quality, premium ingredients. Every bite was reminiscent of a walk by the sea – full of flavor, freshness, and harmony. The preparation was impeccable, the flavors perfectly balanced. You can feel the passion and love for the ingredients that goes into the cooking. A culinary experience you absolutely must try! However: I was disappointed to find more drinks on the bill than we actually ordered. To all guests: Please check your bill carefully – we were charged €20 extra for drinks. And unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident; I know of three other restaurants where the same thing happened.

Domenico Aquilino's passion shines through in his dishes, and even when he moves among the tables and chats with customers, his satisfaction is understandably evident. The seafood is based on fish. We started with a cod stick with a cream of peppers, caciocavallo cheese, and olives, which was delicious and beautifully presented. I also found the first course delicious: monkfish linguine with fresh cherry tomatoes and Taggiasca olives. The second course was also very satisfying: grilled gurnard, delicious. It's worth noting that he uses dry-aged fish, which was evident in the tenderness of the meat. The service was friendly and cheerful, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The wine list focuses on Calabria with a good selection. Highly recommended.

We tried incredibly light, crispy, and dry fried fish, which simultaneously protected and enhanced the authentic flavor of the catch. But the real added value was the chef's ability to showcase the excellence of the Calabrian region. I found the use of fruit sublime: that touch of freshly grated citrus on the dishes created an aromatic contrast that masterfully enhanced the flavor of the sea. ​An honorable mention goes to the extraordinary helpfulness of the staff and the kitchen. Despite my unusual and personalized requests, I was greeted with a smile and impeccable precision. I must say it was really appreciated, since in this restaurant you can eat typical Calabrian dishes, but really, really delicious. Safe and Sound is one of those places that doesn't just aim to "satisfy your hunger quickly," but to give you the feeling that someone has really thought about what you're eating. The atmosphere is modern, clean, and relaxing. The pace is right. And above all: you can sense a focus on quality without flaunting it. The dishes arrive balanced, beautifully plated, without heavy or redundant execution. Here, the focus is on clean flavors, clarity of ingredients, and an approach that respects what you eat without overdoing it. And this is a rare commodity at lunch. The service was one of the most convincing points: helpful, quick when needed, but also very accommodating to specific requests. This isn't a given at lunchtime, where many places cut back on attention to detail. If I had to point out room for improvement (for cognitive honesty, not destructive criticism): some dishes could be a little more daring in their aromatic layering. There's no need for radical changes, just that final "click" that makes a dish memorable even in the memory. Overall, Safe and Sound is a place well worth a lunch break in Catanzaro Lido: solid, clean, well-managed, with a contemporary identity. And with a little more attention to the fine sensory details... it could become one of those places you'd recommend without even having to argue.

The place is delightful, the music is great, the food is delicious, and the food is truly beautifully presented. Mediterranean flavors revisited in an innovative way. A wonderful surprise.
