30/07/2025: A Disappointing Experience Not to Be Repeated My recent visit to Sol Levante Japanese Restaurant was a profound disappointment, far from what a Japanese restaurant should offer. Unfortunately, the experience was fraught with a series of issues that made the meal unpleasant and made me want to never return. The first negative aspect that struck me was the interminable wait. Although the restaurant wasn't overly crowded, we had to wait an inordinate amount of time for our dishes. This unjustified delay contributed to a growing sense of frustration and ruined the evening's mood. But the real sore point was the quality of the food, which fell far short of acceptable standards. The raw fish, a cornerstone of Japanese cuisine, didn't appear fresh. The sashimi was tasteless and had a rubbery texture, suggesting it hadn't been freshly prepared or had been stored improperly. The sushi and nigiri rice was also overcooked and sticky, lacking the expected texture and flavor. The tempura was greasy and heavy, not as crispy and light as they should be, and the flavors overall were flat and undistinguished. The service left much to be desired. The staff was distracted and inattentive to our requests. We had to repeatedly call for attention to order drinks or ask for clarification on the dishes. The lack of friendliness and professionalism contributed to an overall unwelcoming and rushed atmosphere. Finally, the value for money was decidedly unfavorable. Considering the low quality of the dishes and the poor service, the final bill seemed excessively high, in no way justifying the experience. In conclusion, Il Sol Levante proved to be a restaurant to avoid for those seeking an authentic and enjoyable Japanese culinary experience. The excessive wait, the poor quality of the food, and the inadequate service made my visit extremely unsatisfactory. I hope this review can help steer those looking for a good Japanese restaurant elsewhere.

21/11/2025: Saturday evening. Very few people. The staff were welcoming, very kind, and above all, smiling. I ordered sushi. Nothing exceptional. The wait was minimal, so it was quick. I was neither disappointed nor satisfied. The only disappointing part, in my opinion, was the temaki because the rice seemed rubbery. The rest was good but fair. They could do better, because the place is undoubtedly large and spacious, and the owners are welcoming and very kind.

30/10/2025: Very nice place, with that privacy that never hurts. Unfortunately, however—maybe it was a bad day, or maybe we were just unlucky—the quality of the fish was truly poor. The gunkan in particular were embarrassing. You could taste the fish, which wasn't fresh, and the color was truly awful. Not to mention the tonkatsu, whose thin slices looked like carpaccio, and the breading tasted like black cherry ice cream. Then I don't understand: why doesn't the menu say you can only have sashimi once? Failed

13/08/2025: Exquisite and very clean, I have been frequenting this restaurant for years with my family and we have never been dissatisfied, exceptional raw materials and fair all-you-can-eat price!!

30/08/2025: Terrible experience. The food arrived completely unseasoned, with a truly unpleasant flavor. The Japanese seaweed we ordered didn't even taste like Japanese. The gyoza were missing from the delivery, but they arrived shortly afterward, but perhaps it would have been better to keep them, because I've never eaten anything this disgusting. All this aside, the prices aren't even that affordable. Highly discouraged!

15/09/2025: Excellent sushi, not necessarily authentic but more adapted to a Western palate, but still excellent! The place is minimal but welcoming, with very fast and friendly service. Recommended!

29/10/2025: I ordered takeout from Ristorante Zen and I have to say my experience was overall positive. The staff was courteous and the service was quite quick: I waited about a quarter of an hour, which was more than acceptable for a freshly prepared order. I had rice noodles with vegetables and Cantonese rice: both dishes were tasty and well-cooked, with fresh ingredients and generous portions. I spent a total of €8, or €4 per portion, a very reasonable price for the quality offered. One small point: I had to ask for the spicy sauce and was not provided with soy sauce, which is usually expected with this type of cuisine. Nothing serious, but a detail that could further improve the service. Overall, I approve of the experience: good food, fair prices, and quick service. Definitely a good place for those looking for a Chinese-Japanese option in the area, especially for takeout. Maybe I'll return.

10/03/2025: Personale gentile, locale carino e pulito, il cibo molto buono e ben presentato. Non è il solito ristorante di cucina giapponese italianizzata, ma la cucina è originale e sono anche piatti koreani e tailandesi. Anche il rapporto qualità prezzo è molto buono
