07/01/2025: Horrible. Avoid it as much as possible. We left. They assigned us a room called "doctors' room" completely dirty, full of limescale, dust and there was mold in the bathroom. Not at all the same as the photos. It was completely dark, you couldn't breathe, we tried to open the window but it led to a sort of hole with a fan that emitted hot air. We call the receptionist to have the shower cleaned but the dirt doesn't go away. At this point we asked for another room but were told that they had no other rooms like ours and that we had to pay more (€100 more per night; we had to sleep there for 2 nights). We then booked another much better hotel for the same price (Domus Plaza). At this point, fed up with the situation, we go back to the reception where I inform another receptionist that I would have liked at least half the refund as we would not have slept and stayed there. I was denied and we were offered another room (we don't know where the availability came from). We had already booked because the other receptionist had told us that there were no rooms available and we had to pay more. We still took a look at the room, even though this new receptionist told us that she didn't even know if it was available or not. Therefore, not knowing if there was really availability, we refused, as the room was only bigger but still with dirt and limescale in the shower. The receptionist also adds that our room, the one we had initially booked, is a "last minute" room even though we had booked weeks before. Receptionists generally quite unwelcoming.

31/12/2024: I had an extremely disappointing experience at Hotel Palazzo dei Ciompi in Florence. The apartment was poorly maintained with no basic facilities provided. The location was outside the main premises and in an unsafe, noisy area where disturbances lasted throughout the night. The hotel staff left at 7 PM, leaving no one on-site to assist with any concerns or emergencies. There were no toiletries, no drinking water, and absolutely no sense of hospitality. To add to the frustration, they do not have an in-house breakfast facility. Instead, guests are told to visit a café next door. The so-called breakfast was laughable—just cornflakes, bread, and cheese. It felt more like an afterthought than an actual service.
