30/06/2025: These are the places I love. Good trattorias, with excellent food, that have remained "as they once were". In a world where everything changes (and not always for the better) it is nice to find the certainty of eating well, being treated like family and not having to sell a kidney to pay the bill.
Anyone who loves Piacenza cuisine must absolutely go there!!

17/06/2025: Ordered a plate of nachos, and it was inedible!!! It was a jumble of stuff placed randomly without any criteria (mozzarella with paprika? But they don't even do this in America).
In addition, the waiter brought us the plate with a napkin that, rightly, remained stuck on the nachos and they didn't even have the courage to change it.
Poor quality burgers and a rather questionable choice on the menu (there was onion everywhere and if you asked to remove it they even looked at you badly). But excuse me, but at this point you call the place onion pub!!!
Never again in a place like this. Too bad I can't give 0 stars!
07/06/2025: Excellent food and pleasant atmosphere. Too bad about the owner's service when it came to the bill! We got to the cashier to pay by card and the POS didn't work. The owner got agitated, exclaiming phrases like "what the f*** why did they have to invent cards when there was cash that was so convenient". And after 3 long attempts he told us "be good, go and withdraw" (the nearest ATM can only be reached by car). After 15/20 minutes of waiting we managed to pay, and they didn't even give us 1€ discount. It's really a shame because the waiters were very kind!

10/05/2025: Ristorante con cucina tipica Piacentina, "alla vecchia maniera", il menù annunciato dai ristoratori al tavolo comprende antipasti, qualche primo e qualche secondo, secondo la cucina di tradizione del territorio. La cosa che più ho apprezzato è stato l'antipasto: salumi e formaggi con salse e contorni, davvero ottimi. Anche i dolci fatti in casa sono stati davvero molto graditi. Agnolotti in brodo forse troppo saporiti e salati. Prezzo un po' alto rispetto il numero di portate ordinate. Buon giudizio nel complesso.

04/05/2025: A place without too many pretensions, we stopped specifically on our way back from a holiday; the girl who welcomed us was very helpful and kind. We asked for the fixed menu, but as it was Sunday it was not provided; there would be a need for a general tidy up (especially in the bathrooms a bit of maintenance is needed!!) but for a good meal while spending little it's more than fine.

25/05/2025: I had the pleasure of dining at the Tokyo restaurant in Castel San Giovanni, and I can say that it was a truly pleasant experience. The restaurant offers a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for enjoying an evening of good Japanese cuisine.
The menu is rich and varied, with a wide choice of traditional dishes prepared with fresh, quality ingredients. The sushi, in particular, was exceptional: very fresh and expertly prepared fish, with a presentation with attention to detail. Hot dishes, such as ramen and tempura, also lived up to expectations, with authentic and well-balanced flavors.
The staff was courteous and attentive, ready to satisfy every request with a smile. Furthermore, the waiting times were short, even though the restaurant was quite busy.
The only flaw, so to speak, was that the portions were a little too generous, which could be excessive for those with a more moderate appetite. However, this detail did not negatively impact the overall experience, which remains extremely positive.
In summary, the Tokyo restaurant is an excellent choice for those who want to enjoy Japanese cuisine in a pleasant and refined environment. I will definitely come back to try other dishes from their interesting menu!
