18/01/2026: Discovered this place through the Michelin guide. On our way home, we stopped for lunch (after booking during the week). The place is located in a hilltop village in a quiet, panoramic area. We had a very good lunch; the place is new and well-kept, overlooking the valley. The staff is kind and very attentive, and the dishes are excellent and well-presented. The menu is extensive, with interesting off-menu options. I highly recommend this place for its tranquility and quality.

14/10/2025: Splendid location Trattoria located in an old mill, beautifully restored, with spacious indoor and outdoor spaces, a garden, and a pond where you can relax on wooden benches. Superlative food, decidedly above-average, and attentive service. From the appetizers to the Amaro del Frate liqueur, you feel cared for and well-attended. A unique experience, worth repeating.

20/01/2026: The restaurant is truly well organized, from reception to service. It features cloth tablecloths and attentive service (perhaps a bit too busy between courses). The baccalà alla Vicentina is certainly well-made, while I found the mantecato a bit heavy (better to share a portion for two). The wine offered, Vespaiolo, tells the story of the area, with grapes that are a delicacy for wasps... The boiled meat is definitely worth trying, even though this tradition is in our DNA in Emilia.

You can't bring eight appetizers to a table of 13-14 people and then bring them to the rest after the first eight have long since finished eating them. And the same thing happened with other dishes. 04/01/2026: A very charming and comfortable atmosphere (the upstairs dining room in particular is very airy and bright, but I imagine the downstairs dining room is equally pleasant and welcoming). The staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed an excellent Vicenza-style cod with a glass of Tai Rosso and a delicious warm chocolate, pear, and rum tart. A great experience, definitely worth repeating!

29/12/2025: Christmas lunch with the final package… We booked for Christmas lunch, asking when we booked if there was a set menu or à la carte based on the restaurant's menu. The answer was à la carte, so we knew we'd find the usual menu… When we arrived at the restaurant, they presented us with a menu specially designed for Christmas, removing many dishes from the classic menu. We hadn't been told when we booked that we'd be served a special menu… The quality of the food was good, but the hardest thing to swallow was the obvious deception we saw at the cash register… Cocktail charge, €5 per person. An outrageous price for what is normal for this place, but up until this point it was a special day and that's understandable, and besides, it was correctly listed on the Christmas menu. We ordered coffees, which wasn't listed on the Christmas menus at €3 each. It practically felt like we were in Venice when the day before you pay at least half the price the next day at this place… Not to mention some dishes, like their macaroni. That's why the traditional menu costs €12, but the Christmas menu is inflated to €16, with no changes whatsoever in presentation or quantity compared to normal, but only because it's Christmas... Basically, transparency and honesty never pay again. I understand that you want to earn more. At least create a menu, set it at €60, and don't require reservations, saying you have the à la carte menu and then inflating all the prices.

11/01/2026: A traditional Venetian trattoria. The restaurant is showing signs of age, but the traditional Venetian cuisine is excellent and the service is friendly. The bigoli with duck sauce and the Venetian-style liver, served upon request with mashed potatoes, are very good. In keeping with tradition, the Vicenza-style cod is served in a crock with a soft and delicate polenta. We weren't able to try the Venetian-style cuttlefish with peas because the restaurant was reopening after a period of closure and they weren't available. For dessert, the lemon cream with cat's tongues was delicious, and the cream caramel, made with a smooth and not cloying caramel, was just right. In short, a traditional trattoria that doesn't disappoint. I highly recommend the experience.

04/01/2026: Great experience! We had a mixed appetizer with a tart, cotechino, cured meats, cheese, and pickles. For the main course, the mixed grill (min. 2 for €18) included sausages, ribs, sliced ​​steak, and chicken. All accompanied by red wine on tap and water. The food was excellent, the wait was a bit long, but the beautiful view and cozy atmosphere made the wait pass smoothly and in complete relaxation. All three of the ladies in the dining room were very friendly and kind. Highly recommended!

Calling it simply a "Trattoria" is an understatement; the experience offered is that of a top-quality restaurant. The Cuisine: Art and Raw Materials ​The credit goes entirely to Sara and Marco, who are not only the owners, but also the extraordinary chefs who passionately dedicate themselves to creating dishes that demonstrate remarkable research and care. Each course is a perfect balance between tradition and innovation. ​Special praise goes to the selection of meats: the Florentine steaks and rib-eye steaks are simply fabulous, cooked to perfection and possessing a tenderness and flavor that are rare. The ingredients are clearly excellent and expertly prepared. Service and Hospitality ​The experience was completed by impeccable service. The waitresses were extremely polite, kind, and attentive to every detail, helping to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere without being intrusive. They make you feel pampered from the moment you enter to the moment you leave. In Conclusion ​Trattoria San Martino is a true gem.
