21/05/2025: My wife and I recently stayed at the hotel for 7 nights. It had been recommended to us by a friend, as we wanted to remain outside Venice. In short, we loved everything about Hotel Forte. The same family have been in charge for over 50 years, and you can see that demonstrated in everything they do. The service is excellent, staff are very friendly, the rooms clean and modern, but the stand out feature is the hotel’s restaurant, which is simply superb (we ate there 4 times). They are already in the Michelin guide, and can only go from strength to strength. Thank you for such a lovely and memorable stay.

13/05/2025: We dived into a typical Italian lunch... full room in the middle of the week... 100% Italian... no menu in English... the waiter is very kind and makes the effort to speak English. The food is divine... EVERYTHING IS SUCCULENT!!!

29/04/2025: Dopo diversi compleanni e anniversari prenotiamo per Pasqua. Prendiamo qualche aperitivo, il prosecco della bottiglia sembra quello dalla spina, decisamente poco adatto a un locale di questo tipo. Poi passiamo alla cucina: una garanzia, eccezionale, dagli antipasti al dolce. Nota dolente i vini: nel menù erano comprese due bottiglie (ho pagato ogni un menù a persona per intero, ma le bottiglie sul tavolo erano due), arriviamo e sono già aperte..perché? Si stappano davanti ai commensali, caspita! Finiamo il bianco e rimane il rosso che era abbastanza buono, così alla fine del oranzo chiedo se hanno un tappo per portarla via. Apriti cielo, la persona sbuffa, si blocca, trasecola, indietreggia e chiarisce "Sì guardo..comunque non si fa così! Il vino è a consumo!". Capita l'antifona ringrazio ed esco senza il vino che ho pagato per intero nel conto. La domanda sorge spontanea: se è a consumo, ecco spiegato perché le bottiglie erano già aperte? Quindi perché vendermi al bottiglia anziché darmi del vino della casa? Ed essendo a consumo, il resto della mia bottiglia che fine farà? Nota di chiusura decisamente stridente a fronte di una cucina notevole, bravo chef!

The place is very clean (bathroom included, of course!). The service is absolutely top notch. The pizza, the real strong point, is EXCELLENT!!

19/05/2025: I was there yesterday with 8 other friends, we went there specifically to have a nice fish meal and on behalf of everyone it was worth it. The cost is a bit high but with the raw material they serve and the countless courses it makes up for it. I personally have been going to Nalin for about 50 years and I have never been disappointed once, I have brought several people there and they have all returned. They are also good at the service, they have gone from a staff of all male waiters to a female staff but always up to par 👍👍👍

17/05/2025: Paradiso Perduto: Paradise Lost, Indeed Paradiso Perduto: Paradise Lost, Indeed There was a time—not so long ago—when Paradiso Perduto was less a restaurant and more a rite of passage for discerning visitors to Venice. An unfussy gem tucked beside the canal, it struck that rare chord between culinary soul and convivial spirit. The food was honest, the atmosphere electric, and the service refreshingly warm. It featured proudly on my personal pilgrimage list each time I returned to La Serenissima—two, sometimes three times a year. It was, dare I say, a vibe. Alas, all good things are subject to the fatal whims of ownership change. It is with the mournful resignation of a once-devoted patron that I report: the “Paradiso” has indeed been “Perduto.” Under its new regime, the place has suffered a tragic metamorphosis—from a beloved bacaro into a parody of itself. What was once charmingly bohemian is now simply chaotic. What was once effortlessly cool is now clumsily pretentious. The service now comes with a side of aloof disdain—one part arrogance, one part amateurism, and not a trace of hospitality. One particularly snappy young woman at the till—clearly moonlighting as a character from a bad French New Wave film—refused, with theatrical disdain, to split a bill of over €140 between three diners. “One payment per table,” she sniffed, as though we’d asked her to wash our feet, not accept three card taps in 2025. The inconvenience was matched only by the attitude. She wouldn’t even split the bill in half. The food, meanwhile, seems conceived more for Instagram than appetite: a limp seafood starter that could’ve come straight from a supermarket shelf, followed by a plate of pasta that had all the passion of a boarding school lunch tray. The pricing, however, has bravely marched into haute cuisine territory—as though mediocrity might be disguised by cost. In short: Paradiso Perduto has become a textbook case in how to dismantle a restaurant’s soul in record time. A culinary tragedy, poorly acted. Avoid—unless you’re researching a thesis on the perils of hubris in hospitality.

03/04/2025: My colleague and I were there for lunch yesterday while we were passing through for a work appointment. Average dishes and service, decidedly high prices in my opinion. We took: - An appetizer (tuna tartare €12 from the menu) - a plate of razor clams with 2 scallops - 3 side dishes (a potato and 2 pan-fried vegetables) from the menu €4 each - 2 waters - coffee There were calculated 2 menus of €28 so €56 in total. As far as I'm concerned, terrible quality for the price.
