28/09/2025: Impeccable service, attentive but never intrusive. Textbook dishes: excellent ingredients, precise execution, distinct flavors. Every course is a confirmation. An experience to repeat, without hesitation.
Thanks again...the Sicilian desserts are delicious, not to mention the chocolate biscuit...which took me back to my childhood.
06/09/2025: I went there last night for dinner and found a welcoming family atmosphere. The dishes are typical Venetian but also revisited. The quality of the food and wines is excellent. I think it's a must if you go to Padua!!!

07/10/2025: A very beautiful restaurant with very polite staff.
I would recommend to book a table as the restaurant is quite popular in yhe area and you might find ot difficult to sit at a table without a reservation.
I put 4 stars because we had to wait fot quite long for the dishes. It is excusable due to the people in the restaurant but i have to be objective.
The tiramisu was delicious.

19/09/2025: I went there for lunch today and the food was terrible. I ordered bigoli with wild boar ragù, but the meat didn't taste like wild boar at all; it was ground beef sautéed with fresh spaghetti, not bigoli. The waiters were clumsy; they dropped a glass on the table and brought drinks and glasses in their hands instead of on a tray. It may have been a traditional osteria once, but I assure you, there's absolutely nothing typical about them from Padua!

05/10/2025: Dinner was organized at the last minute. From the moment I called, I sensed the staff were helpful and super friendly. Everything was confirmed when we arrived at the restaurant. The service was a 10! You can sense a lot of hard work, a clear vision, and passion for their work! If you want authentic, flavorful food, come here!

12/10/2025: We ate an excellent sliced steak, really good and tender, with roast potatoes and excellent desserts and very kind staff!
12/10/2025: A place where you can eat really well at a reasonable price. Both the first and second courses are excellent, and the atmosphere is homey and welcoming. The pear and chocolate cake wasn't exceptional, but it definitely fades in comparison to the rest. The only flaw, in my opinion, was the staff at times: friendly but sometimes a bit pushy and brash, plus the fact that I hadn't quite finished the bigoli in salsa when a waiter came to take my plate away. The service could be improved, but despite that, I think it deserves 4 stars for the value.

The staff's smiles and courtesy are unmistakable, along with excellent dishes and traditional specialties, a wide selection, and the comfort of a dining room adorned with objects—old radios, sewing machines, copper pots, and typewriters—that take you back to the days of our grandparents. Here, your lunch or dinner break becomes a truly relaxing experience. Congratulations!

29/05/2025: The Antica Trattoria Bertolini in Padua enjoys a pleasant and well-kept location: a clean environment, well-arranged tables and an atmosphere that promises a peaceful lunch break. Too bad that the overall experience is irremediably ruined by the attitude of the staff that to call rude is an understatement.
Already at the time of ordering, the incomprehensible presence of a trolley with cooked and raw vegetables in the room leaves room for doubt: will they be available or are they there for show? When I asked for a simple mixed salad - a more than reasonable request for a lunch break - the waiter's reaction was that of someone who has just received a personal insult. Grumbling, impatient looks and the clarification, almost with contempt, that "we don't put anything like tuna or other things in it". Don't worry, we won't even ask you to dress it with edible gold.
But the real cult moment took place at the cash register: asking for a separate bill unleashed a management apocalypse. “This is how you’re going to close me down, I’ve never seen anything like this,” we were told in an accusatory tone. I’ve never seen such a disproportionate reaction, one might say.
15 euros for a bowl of vegetables, water and coffee. Not even in the most pretentious bistro in the centre of Milan, where at least they serve you vegetables with a smile and a protein of your choice.
A real wasted opportunity: it wouldn’t take much to make the service up to the context, but evidently kindness isn’t on the menu. Too bad, because with a different welcome we would have returned.
Instead… yes, we will definitely return (believe it), and it will be my personal commitment to warmly recommend it to friends and family… to avoid it. 🤣
