Osteria da Nando

Aosta

Osteria La Vache Folle

Aosta
09/02/2025: Atypical, warm restaurant. Top notch service, with a smile. The dishes arrive quickly, the meat is excellent; melting in the mouth. Affordable price. :D Had a pleasant time with the bonus of a shot offered by the house. ;) I recommend 100% if you go that way..
07/02/2025: Around 12 I called the restaurant to find out if it was possible to book a table for 1.30pm and the lady on the phone wasn't very kind, telling me that everything was full for the moment and I should come in person. We decided to go anyway and found a table. The restaurant is very characteristic and typical of a mountain area. We had the fondue with potatoes and croutons, a plate of cured meats made by them and the sausage with fondue and polenta. The food was quite good even if I didn't like the croutons very much and the sausage was the same as in the cold cuts plate drowned in cheese, while the polenta next to it, in this way, was a little dry. It was still a great lunch, but I expected something more.

Osteria dell'Oca

Aosta
16/02/2025: Local in the center, located in a courtyard on the side of the main street. Very welcoming and excellent food. From the appetizer, through the first courses and the second courses, everything is made with quality raw materials, including desserts. Attentive service and friendly staff. Very recommended.
13/02/2025: Unfortunately today I went to this restaurant I usually always had a good time but today we waited an hour after we had ordered and they didn't even give us a discount to ask for an apology for an hour for a salad and a risotto and a polenta.... It seems excessive to me I understood 30 Min but nooooo.....

Trattoria Praetoria

Aosta
09/02/2025: Wonderful experience in the center of Aosta, tasty and abundant dishes. Impeccable service
09/02/2025: Nice medium-high quality restaurant, very fast service and friendly staff. The typical place for a quiet meal with relaxing classical music. Satisfactory portions and prices in line with the restaurant level (approximately €18/20). In the last room at the end it isn't very warm, which made my dinner difficult to digest. The meat in the Civet e Carbonada polenta was good but a little tough for my taste and it got cold quickly. If I had eaten in a warmer climate I would certainly have also ordered dessert, bitters and coffee instead of going to a freshly opened bar. A little disappointed because as a tourist I was curious to try the typical venison, but for a €44 dinner for 2 for just one plate of polenta each, the name Trattoria is very misleading. There is the menu outside and so you know in advance what you will pay (for goodness sake you won't be deceived, just keep in mind €3 cover charge each), but the classic plate of polenta and steaming meat like in a normal trattoria are not there.
