I don’t need to try other restaurants to know that this is the best chinese restaurant in Florence. The food was phenomenal. I had enough of Italian food and I made the best decision to come here to satisfy my craving for chinese food 😭

23/07/2024: Yet another change of management. How is something like this possible given that it is always full and people spend money to go there? The conclusions are yours. Since living in the area I have seen at least 4 management changes. You already have many answers... Current management 2024: Average food. The chefs limit themselves to doing the essential without any creative touch. The tartares are micro and embarrassing. The price for lunch justifies the 3 stars, but I would never go there for dinner even if they change (but slightly) the menu. For ordinary people it's fine, but for more refined palates, there are better restaurants in the city. Frying normal. Grilled fish to be rebuilt. Service normal. Atmosphere: The place is called Akashi. The name “Akashi” has Japanese origins. It is made up of two kanji characters: “Aka” meaning “red” and “shi” meaning “bridge”. So, literally translated, the name Akashi means “red bridge”. I don't see any connection with the "style" of the place. I don't see any bridges, some red geisha and then everything is black as always. Gloomy and now in need of a necessary renovation if you want to make a difference.

For the same price (above average) there are restaurants with significantly higher quality and variety of dishes.
The canteen-style white paper napkins and plastic soy sauce bowls are terrible!

Dishes with spaghetti and/or rice are highly recommended

11/07/2024: Good Chinese food is so rare in Italy , we had a nice surprise . Delicious Dim sum and great service in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
We visited again today , enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

30/08/2024: Overall ok food and fast service. What is often missing from Chinese managers, waiters and shop assistants is to welcome customers with a smile, but evidently they are not really capable of it.
03/08/2024: I love this restaurant! The food is good and of high quality. We have been going there for years and years to enjoy a nice lunch, a dinner with family or friends. The staff is very kind and professional.

03/07/2024: Chinese food near Florence Centro area! Echoing a previous review, my family was also just glad to have this meal after a few days of pizza and pasta. It was not the best Chinese food ever but enough to satisfy our craving.
Out of all the menu items, we would say the chicken stir fry noodles made the meal. Would recommend those and the dumplings if you go. However, the kung pao chicken did not really come with the veggies as expected.

Super greasy. It's not Chinese food. Ordered cantonese fried rice, chicken curry fried rice, boiled fish, mushroom and bamboo vegetable, omelet, duck dish and dumplings.
Total 7 items.
Only ate 15% of the food and we can't eat anymore. Super oily/greasy.
I don't believe they have oriental chef or cook back there.
The boiled fish is the worst and expensive.
Service.
Waitress not very good with english.
Told her on the 1st order that cantonese fried rice super oily and asked can do something about it and not make other orders too oily too.
She shake the head and went off.. 🤦
Atmosphere.
Atmosphere is good.

16/06/2024: cibo immangiabile. spaghetti alle verdure untissimi e con insalata dentro, pollo agli anacardi con 5 anacardi di numero e pieno di ananas. bacchette mancanti, abbiamo buttato la maggior parte della cena.

I had the spaghetti (fried noodle) with chicken dish. The food tastes great, and so is the price, I just wish the portion was a bit bigger. It gets a bit crowded, so if you get a takeaway, expect to wait 10-15 minutes. Other than that, the customer service was very professional and courteous!!! The menu has a wide range of selections. There is a nice bar at the entrance with a good selection of drinks as well. It is only 1 block from Santa Maria Novella Train Station. Recommended 😎👍

I love Japanese restaurants but this one seems without infamy and without praise. I don't like having to choose numbers without sufficient information on the characteristics of each dish. In fact there were seven of us and I no longer had a clue about the different orders. I don't appreciate the "all you can eat" formula: in my opinion it is not a sign of great quality

10/07/2024: A place without much pomp but very very good sushi, fresh and good quality ingredients, as demonstrated by the fact that despite the quantity of sushi eaten we left without being too weighed down! The owner is very nice!

24/07/2024: A real disappointment. I frequented the restaurant years ago and it deserved its reputation as one of the best Chinese restaurants in Florence. The quality of the food has definitely deteriorated, especially the dim sums. Service not up to par, I would say rude. They don't fail to remind you that having chosen the all you can eat formula you have to finish everything otherwise you have to pay for the leftover dishes. A true obsession, they came to remind us three times, insisting that we finish the few leftovers (a third of three dishes). Beyond belief! Then out of kindness they only charged us for one dish of the three! I won't go back.

01/08/2024: Light and imaginative cuisine. There is no possibility of eating Chinese at this level in the city. The eye also wants its part and at Fulin they have time for this too. I don't add anything. I suggest spending an evening there. Better if as a couple to enjoy everything with greater attention. I would avoid a friends' table the first time. Better to enjoy and chat in other places.
