02/09/2025: I wanted to stop after finishing my walk in San Luca. As soon as I entered, they gave me a very rude look, judging me based on my appearance, even though I was actually nothing special, not even to say I showed up dripping with sweat. They made me sit in the dining room, so since it wasn't my first time here and knowing their customer flow, I asked to be seated in one of the closed "rooms." One of the waitresses replied that it wasn't possible for just one person, to which I replied that I was willing to pay for two, even though I was alone because I needed my privacy and to make a few phone calls. In response, they told me that everything was reserved, laughing in my face at my proposal. Not to mention being ridiculous or something, this restaurant isn't even a quarter full at lunchtime. I was literally judged based on my appearance and perhaps my young age, which, in my experience, dear managers and waiters, is that what appears less always has more to offer. Perhaps you still have to learn this. That said, I never leave reviews, but I really wanted to leave one here, and never again.

07/06/2025: I have been going to Sushi 1688 for years and I can say, without exaggeration, that it is one of the best all you can eat in Emilia, especially for the quality of the fish. The raw salmon is always very fresh, soft and tasty, really a cut above the average, especially considering that we are talking about an inexpensive place. Another strong point is the perfect balance of flavors: never flat and never excessive. I really appreciate the moderate use of rice - a rare thing in AYCE - and the care with which the rolls are prepared, often enriched with toasted sesame seeds that add a crunchy and aromatic note. The salads and hot dishes are also excellent. The service is always quick and, even when some dishes do not arrive with Swiss precision, the staff is kind, helpful and ready to make up for it with a smile. The location does not focus on the wow effect, but it is bright, clean and with comfortable seats. The aquarium adds a relaxing touch and the bathrooms – often neglected elsewhere – here are always impeccable: spacious and very clean. Sushi 1688 is the right place for those looking for substance and quality, without getting lost in the “Instagram” frills. You come here to eat well, and you eat really well. In at least fifty visits, never a problem: neither stomach nor anything else. Highly recommended for those who want to enjoy excellent sushi, in a simple but welcoming environment, with a quality-price ratio that few can offer.

24/06/2025: Clean restaurant, sushi not up to par, at the last course the sushi seaweed did not come apart. Today I woke up with a bubble on my mouth and a white dot on my finger. Foods I recommend are only nighiri and fried ravioli.

15/07/2025: Got Chinese food in Rome!!! Nice little family run food place, cheap food, well portioned, does taste a bit differently then we were used to but hey try it if its here right?!!!??

03/06/2025: English: I left a positive review with 5 stars 9 months ago, today I find myself forced to change it. Until yesterday evening I was a regular customer of the restaurant for more than 2 years now, every 2 weeks or so I ordered take-out or came to eat there at the tables. Unfortunately after yesterday's negative experience I will not return. We waited more than half an hour at the table for someone to come and order, we were then the ones who had to go and call someone behind the counter because no one was passing between the tables, once we ordered the food arrived after about 45 minutes. We had ordered "spaghetti sautéed on a plate with vegetables" and at the table they did not arrive on a plate like everyone else but on a plate... we called the guy to tell us what happened and he replied "no, we don't do those on a plate" and then we replied that we are regular customers and they have ALWAYS been served on a plate, he replied with "only on request" so we specified that when we ordered we specified "on a plate". He proceeded to say “no” shrug his shoulders and walk away. Terrible behavior, really rude, also when the dishes were brought to the table and my son repeated “thank you” out of politeness, not ONCE was a “you’re welcome” or anything polite said the ENTIRE evening. Also we had our dog with us (like every time we went) and she was lying under the table. A Chinese lady (so I can’t even say for sure if she was a customer or from the restaurant …) PURPOSEFULLY bruised her tail (it was blatantly obvious that it was a behavior done on purpose, the dog was under the table and to step on the tail she had to put her foot under the table), the dog complained and even though we pointed out what had happened not even an “excuse me”, she simply proceeded to glare. You will never see us again.

09/07/2025: A wonderful place! You have to have patience, spirit of adventure and not be picky.. it will be your paradise as it is for me! Service and environment I should give a star but I don't feel like it, if you go to a place like this you have to buy it from similar places and be aware that you are not going to eat in a starred, but in a battle Chinese restaurant!

27/06/2025: A dive into the real Chinatown. The place is basically located in a former industrial warehouse. The room is very large and air conditioned. The tables are without tablecloths, you eat directly on the wood. Ours was a bit sticky. Even the floor, although clean at first glance, made the soles of our shoes stick. The menu is huge, the portions are exaggerated, the dishes are executed terribly well. The ravioli are handmade and the filling is fabulous. With a portion of each course you can eat for two, which is why the dishes are a bit more expensive than they should be. Friendly and helpful owner.

29/05/2025: Unfortunately, everything has changed for the worse. The menu is completely different, with very little variety and exaggeratedly high prices for what is offered. I came in the evening expecting a better experience, instead I found uninterested staff, no smile or welcome. I immediately asked to change tables because the sun was beating down on me and it was very hot. After insisting and asking another girl, they changed my seat huffing, as if it were a disturbance. A real shame, it was one of my favorite places, but I don't think I'll be back.

The place is modest but clean, and in the summer there's also an outdoor seating area. Obviously, given this, it's always busy, so reservations are recommended.
